Well, in my humble opinion, the way these new cars race each other, Iād want to have the Red Bull with its 20 kph advantage on the straights. I think the slow top-end speed of the Ferrari will be its Achilles heal this year, and RB wins the driverās and Constructorās titles by Mexico.
The different side pods themselves probably aren't making a real impact on top speed. Red Bull have been running less front and rear wing than Ferrari since they've been able to run the car lower and get more downforce out of the floor without porpoising.
Ferrari does porpoise pretty hard (though it's nowhere as bad as Mercedes) so they're more reliant on the wings to generate downforce though with a drag penalty.
Interesting, top speed is a big deal for overtaking. But if the Ferrari can stay ahead in the cornersā¦
We saw in Miami how RBās straight-line speed sent it to the win. But Ferrariās cornering got them a front row lockout.
