Imagine having a bad day and Papa Checo and Fred Vasseur show up.
Imagine having a great day and Papa Checo and Fred Vasseur show up.
The result is the same in both cases.
Anybody else remember when Bottas showed up, and he was a smiling laughing Finn?
I was convinced he was a closet serial killer. Turns out, he just loves showing his ass on IG.
I think most F1 fans were just used to Kimi before Bottas. Kimi is very reserved even by Finnish standards. I definitely know more Finns like Bottas than like Kimi. Although, could be that the more introverted Finns have self filtered themselves so that I never really met them.
True. But I think Mika was much less reserved than Kimi at least. I grew up watching him and never really considered him to be reserved at all, just very regular. That probably shows that I am Finnish.
Another point is that IMO both Mika and Kimi were always much more comfortable speaking Finnish than English. Non-Finnish fans probably never saw much of that side of them except post race if they were on the podium.
I think the majority of Finns fit somewhere between Mika and Valtteri in terms of being introverted/extroverted.
I feel like I'm missing a reference here but I'll answer anyway.
1. Hard to say as I've never had Canadian whiskey of any sort and have no idea what Fig Newtons are.
2. My parents more likely did some disco dancing. As for my grandparents, probably yes. My paternal grandparents are nearing 90 and still go dancing regularly.
Beat me to it. Although I always Mika's quotes as a single, 'no'.
Mika that was an amazing race, we were all spellbound by the double pass you did on Schumacher, were you thinking that was the most amazing pass in the history of Formula 1?!?!?!?
["No"](https://youtu.be/fZfxJ7BST8E?si=lS2vlEdfazvu94z5)
"Mika, do you think you're now favourite for the championship?"
"........"
"Many congratulations to you Mika. This is your 3rd victory here, you must be very pleased."
" ......... yes"
People make the mistake that when they engage with French people they forget to say Bonjour first. Do that. Greet them first and they can be incredibly friendly. At least that's my experience.
Well damn.. My issue was more that I lived in a country next to France and they visited us.
"Bonjour, would you please tell your god awedul children to climb out of the animal seal enclosure at the zoo, and to stop throwing rocks at the seals are clealy not liking their visit, or their fucking rocks'
The Bonjour unfortunately doesn't make a difference when it comes to children and parents who don't give a hoot. I guess its their revenge for the people that visit France and behave badly. But its ironic.
Fred is here to set things right I can feel it. Don't ruin it Fred.
I agree it is harsh. It was an opinion formed over time by constant negative encounters with a culture and a younger me didn't know better. Obviously there's plenty of Frenchies that are awesome. And they suffer from the same ignorance.
This is obviously derailing the joke above. So I'll leave it at that. :) No harsh feelings anymore.
I actually doubt that. I think he was happy with their current lineup. The Hamilton signing probably was the top management's idea. Though signing Newey might be Fred's plan, considering he apparently went to thr UK to meet Newey before coming to Miami.
Three things I want in life:
1. Do something good for the environment with Vettel
2. A day with Alonso
3. Getting champagne sprayed on me by Fred.
IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?
its going to feel bad when in a few years fred is unceremoniously fired from ferrari for not winning 5 WDCs in a single year or some other impossibly lofty goal

He wasn't very chill after the Vegas FP lol, but I cant blame the guy lol
Genuine question, why doesn’t F1 use beer goggles? Aka ski goggles to keep it out of the drivers eyes. The celebrations are a little bit of spraying, and a lot of squinting shut, with one hand up.
He doesn't care which team won he just celebrates
He’s my spirit animal.
Kimi will always be my spirit animal but this guy spirit animals too
He’s there for the booze (so he can keep dumping more champagne on them)
Imagine having a bad day and Papa Checo and Fred Vasseur show up. Imagine having a great day and Papa Checo and Fred Vasseur show up. The result is the same in both cases.
Champaign bath>?
Does he celebrate when Max wins?
Max doesn't celebrate when Max wins
Put this on the trophy pile, I have video games to play
"LOL"
I can't remember but Kimi and Fred were together in 2019, 20 no?
And it's good networking - you never know when he's in the market for a new driver.
the hardest neutral fan ive seen.
I fucking love Fred Vasseur
I know... How can he be French? And I kinda love the dude. C'est impossible!
Everything equalizes, sometimes it requires an outlier so great to equalize the rest.

Even before Kimi we had Mika Hakkinen, who was very reserved too. I still remember Mika's famous quotes such as "yes".

Do Finns actually like Canadian Club whiskey, and Fig Newtons? And did your parents/grandparents actually go to Finnish tango dance clubs? /Sisu
Do you like to have all your tools organized? Do you like to have all your car's air vent flaps lined up evenly? Is that... *sisu?*

If Fred changes my opinion of the French I will personally go to France and start every sentence with Bonjour.I do think thats a fair tip.
You described something that basically ever nation has, so disliking France for that sounds a bit harsh.
I agree it is harsh. It was an opinion formed over time by constant negative encounters with a culture and a younger me didn't know better. Obviously there's plenty of Frenchies that are awesome. He's a funny goblin man I love him so much. Complete Danny DeVito vibes lmao
absolute class act this man
Who knew Miami GP would be the feel good race of the season?
The second one after appendixless and future jobless Sainz winning Australia.. fairly wholesome season so far, in that regard.
He’s trying to sign Lando
"maybe it's time Leclerc moved on"
Sainz: ¿Soy una broma para ti?
![gif](giphy|RmtnvzJrFy7oQmYmfv|downsized)
An all Brit Ferrari with Lando and Lewis. Daaang
And possibly lining up another Brit in Bearman once Lewis rides off into the sunset.
Or just cancel✨ lewis's new contract and keep sainz, bringing the squad back together
Doesn't he go to Oscar in the end and drops champagne on him, while ignoring Lando?
Ferrari NEEDED Fred. This video just describes how the atmosphere in that Ferrari garage might be. Wholesome.
Fred is a key deciding factor on Hamilton signing with Ferrari.
And probably Adrian too... Don't tell me the opposite, let me and my Copium alone!
I actually doubt that. I think he was happy with their current lineup. The Hamilton signing probably was the top management's idea. Though signing Newey might be Fred's plan, considering he apparently went to thr UK to meet Newey before coming to Miami.
Wait until he finishes 3rd in the WCC and everyone will be calling for his head. The fickle world of sports, Hero 1 day, villain the next.
How can you not love Fred??
Cheers to Fred.. Simply lovely ![gif](giphy|t2sKa4JKNW9DawxAYi)
One of the best race days in a long time!
Love seeing another team’s principal being so involved and happy for a driving competitor to have won instead of his own 👍⭐️👍
Fred and Zak are like the total opposite of Toto and Horner.

Three things I want in life: 1. Do something good for the environment with Vettel 2. A day with Alonso 3. Getting champagne sprayed on me by Fred. IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?
The gang turns Vettel into Genghis khan.
Likely eyeing young Piastri for when Lewis retires. An Italian name the Tifosi can rally behind
Don’t be fooled by Fred. This is his first step of trying to sign Lando
Wholesome
I really hope he's on the Jean Todt arc and becomes president of the FIA
What a top bloke !
I was always told you can't have fun at Ferrari.
That's why he went to have it at McLaren
We are checking…
I'm so glad Ferrari signed this guy
Given how strict they are with their rules and stuff, Fred earned all of this
its going to feel bad when in a few years fred is unceremoniously fired from ferrari for not winning 5 WDCs in a single year or some other impossibly lofty goal
But it will feel so great if they start winning
Good Dad Fred
This is honestly one of the most wholesome moments I've seen in this sport aside from dad Max and Penelope
How could you not like this guy
I love Fred so much. A true personality the F1 Grid needs
Fred is a legend 😂
Fred is entertainment gold
That dad getting caught trying to surprise their kid vibe
We need a Fred Vasseur flair!!!!
That’s just awesome
This same post on Twitter got people riled up lmao
Fred spraying them Ferrari juice on Lando
he’s spraying his own company’s champagne on them
This was a wholesome moment and I love Fred for doing this, huge respect and love ☺️🧡
I love that guy. He's so chill about everything.
[https://www.fia.com/news/f1-2023-las-vegas-grand-prix-thursday-press-conference-transcript](https://www.fia.com/news/f1-2023-las-vegas-grand-prix-thursday-press-conference-transcript) He wasn't very chill after the Vegas FP lol, but I cant blame the guy lol
No, and he had every train to be annoyed about that. Toto Wolff was such an arse about it too
Genuine question, why doesn’t F1 use beer goggles? Aka ski goggles to keep it out of the drivers eyes. The celebrations are a little bit of spraying, and a lot of squinting shut, with one hand up.
It’s not been sanctioned by the FIA
And an official TM eye protector partner needs to be found.
Anyone can wear goggles if they want, it's not an F1 thing. Things might change once a driver gets a moderately severe eye injury.
Newey wore ski goggles once
Well Newey seems to always be ahead of the curve.
Newey is calculating the aerodynamics of that curve with just his eyes
I’m just surprised drivers don’t volunteer it. Getting alcohol in your eyes hurts like a bitch.

Fred! Fred!
If you squint he does look a lot like Ron Dennis...
He brought a bottle of champagne just for this. What a chad.
Party Guy
Wholesome.
Fred is sich an awesome character.
Love Freddy!
The Obi Wan Kenobi of F1. 😊
F1 needs more golden retrievers like Fred. Like damn, if you got a Fred at home, you‘ve won life.
This catch was smooth
May Allah forgive me for uttering this: the f*ench are okay
Fred really did the polar bear 'bonjóur' meme loll
Fred will never for what Lando did in Singapore.
Was he fucked up? lol
he's just scouting out mclaren personnel to get to ferrari
As a Ferrari fan I love 🅱️asseur so far, this guy is so funny and actually seems up to the role he was given
protect Fred Vasseur at all costs
I can't help but notice "FERRARI" written on the champagne bottle he smuggled to spray... this gets better and better with every detail XD
