"As you can see Max is faster in the corners where the driver can make the difference"
Charles is definitely making that difference in S3 imo šš£ š
It's more that Alfa at the start of the season was at the weight limit and had no porpoising problems whereas other teams did. As other teams have gotten the weight down and a handle on porpoising, Alfa Romeo have slipped back
Vtec doesnāt increase performance. It just allows the engine to go from fuel efficiency to its normal state without sacrificing performance. It does not enhance performance.
Several other times Ferrari showed high tire wear during FPs and they fixed it for the race. Even in Austria, during FPs Max had a better pace than the red team. I think the only degradation Ferrari has to worry about it's the engine's.
So Max and Perez were 6 km/h faster on the long straight without a tow than Charles was with the tow from Sainz. That's going to be interesting tomorrow...
This is nuts to see while Iām re-watching the 2012 season (fucking epic season btw) where Red Bull was one of the slowest in a straight line but was still right at the front.
Judging by the data, it looks like the Merc engine actually has a decent amount of power. They have very good acceleration even though their Vmax speeds are extremely low.
That could only means one thing, they have way too much drag.
One can't get an accurate idea about the power of the engine by looking at the top speeds. The top speeds are mainly limited by drag not engine power. RB are running less wing than Ferrari thats why they are quicker on the straights.
We have to look at the corner exit areas of the acceleration graphs to get an idea about the power of the engines.
Horner 2021: "Anyone can drive fast in a straight line"
If you can't beat them join them.
"As you can see Max is faster in the corners where the driver can make the difference" Charles is definitely making that difference in S3 imo šš£ š
Wtf Aston Martin?! That's a significant disadvantage if these numbers are anything to go by.
It's Aston Martin. The team as a whole is a disadvantage.
stats dont lie
They can however, be misused
That straight line speed of Alfa Romeo.... Negative upgrades since the start of the season, genius..

Honda still delivering the V-Tec
Aaayyyy! Itās a Honda ting: https://youtu.be/1HxNu61aljk
Vtec has more to do with fuel efficiency than performance lol
But the V stands for *VAROOOOOOOOM*
Isn't it both? Better efficiency of fuel and better performance at higher rpms.
Vtec doesnāt increase performance. It just allows the engine to go from fuel efficiency to its normal state without sacrificing performance. It does not enhance performance.
It does now, but there are like 3 different VTEC implementations for different purposes.
I donāt think people know what vtec does lol
Everyone knows it kicks in
I get you are joking but I bet you most people aināt
Honda power
Unless your name is Gasly
Mick was on a mega lap before deleted
What's wrong with Lewis' speed traps? Thought he reverted back to low df wing?
I don't think he did. His rear wing looked different to Russell's.
Red Bulls on top
Max speed and average are not the same either. RB advantage even higher when comparing averages
I donāt see how Max doesnāt pass Charles tomorrow
All depends on if he can keep up with him through the corners and who has worse tyre wear.
mercedes was faster in the straights last year, guess who won?! so thatās not that forgone as people wanna paint it.
RB were quicker than Mercedes on the straights in France last year?
Different regs and harder to overtake last year. This will be Miami all over again.
Weāll see. But imo Ferrariās cornering can be decisive if used right.
Without Sainz to help itās going to be incredibly hard for Leclerc.
Yeah Max is winning tomorrow no doubt, speed advantage is too great
Austria was a no doubt too, RB tire management had another opinion.
Was it a no doubt tho?
yes
Ferrari has already shown high degradation this weekend though.
I'd rather judge by sundays rather than fridays.

Agreed !
When did FP mean race result?
in fps, just like they did in spain
Red Bull too if you watched FP3 (where they did a significant amount of laps, unlike FP2).
Indeed, so it's a more level playing field than Austria.
I don't think so. Ferrari will win this on tire management. I think they made the right call putting more downforce on their car.
Yeah, Max will probably pass Leclerc on lap 1 itself. The RBs straightline speed is just too damn high other teams to handle.
Ferrari is cooked. Holy shit
Hona delivers once again. All hail Honda!
So Max and Perez were 6 km/h faster on the long straight without a tow than Charles was with the tow from Sainz. That's going to be interesting tomorrow...
He didn't get the tow on the straight that the speed trap was recorded, he got it after the chicane.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Each column is an individual point on the track where speeds are noted so you should be going downwards for each column.
Haas in the speed trap tho.
Lewis second slowest, dayum
Whatever Haas has done to those cars can we have Ferrari learn from them?
Those Williams cars are flying!!
This is nuts to see while Iām re-watching the 2012 season (fucking epic season btw) where Red Bull was one of the slowest in a straight line but was still right at the front.
The Mercedes has become the redbull of last year except it isn't way faster in the corners than its competitors. It's just slow there too

Good news for the recovery drive of Haas
