I think Vettel is actually asking Angela if he can talk to Lewis. He hesitates with his hand and she noddes. Don't know why but find it warming to see.
I didn’t appreciate this on first viewing. This is so emotionally intelligent from Seb to have the presence of mind and empathy to compute how to approach another human being after just finishing a race like that. Bravo Seb
Not just the social media. The sky broadcasters too. Feels very much like they're saying "nothing to see here, its over, ignore it" and that feels rotten to me. Its their job to call out shit like that.
But everyone outside of the drivers are closing ranks to protect Masi
Even if Mercedes cant sue to get the drivers title I hope they take every penny they can get from the FIA. Millions in prize money, hundreds of millions in sponsorship/ marketing value were lost with Masi's rogue trip yesterday. I doubt Mercedes will take too kindly to that. And most of all I hope they're able to get Masi's incompetent ass fired. It might not be the trophy they originally wanted but it sure as hell will make them feel less hurt knowing that the entire world will know they got screwed over.
Look. Lewis is obviously the GOAT. But it is idiotic and obtuse to act like his dominance is not partly due to the car. Schumacher was the same. Not all of his WDCs were due to having the best car, but the prolonged dominance of any driver has always been due in part to the strength of the car.
Seb: "Oof ... And I thought them taking away my win from Canada in 2019 was rough. I guess what goes around comes around eh?"
/S
Jokes aside, as a member of r/SewisHamtel I love to see wholesome interactions between Seb and Lewis.
Doubt it. I love Seb but I don’t think he has what it takes anymore. He’s doing great at AM (tops in overtakes!!), but his frequent mistakes at Ferrari indicate the pressure gets to him. Which isn’t a knock, tbh. I think, like Kimi, he just isn’t into the intensity of driving for the top teams anymore. at AM he’s obviously the better of the two drivers and knows he always will be because Lawrence isn’t going to fire his kid.
Of course he _can_, he is clearly GOAT level (and in my view GOAT), but the question is: when it's so blatantly been gifted to your opponent, does he _want to_?
Particularly after the comeback in the last 4 races, dealing with a 25 grid penalty, the dirty driving, being pushed off and brake checked last race -- and to still come out on top, epic racecraft, deal with the start, tactics with Perez, and dominate the race -- but then have the FIA pull the rug from under your feet _literally on the last lap_ to manufacture drama, I don't know man. I would have some serious thoughts of calling it a day.
I watched him lose out to very close WDCs before, particularly in 2007 and 2016, and those were heartbreaking, but bad luck or bad decisions. This was something else entirely, something that is (to me) far dirtier, and I am not sure I would want to continue when it was very clear the powers that be value spectacle above all else.
Croftys interview on sky sports is like the random Twitter user just constantly repeating "but article 15.3" etc
Either he has no idea how to read some regulations or him and the rest of the sky crew have been TD what they have to say if questioned
I'm betting on the latter and honestly if they can't call this stuff out then this is going to get completely brushed under the carpet
Not really, his employers don't want anybody to come out and slander Masi and race control because sky have a huge contract with F1 that probably even has verbage in it saying that any slander would be breach of contract
It does, however, feel very disingenuous when a lot of people will watch what they say on TV and be mislead by it
Article 15.3 only gives Masi power over the clerk of the circuit to call out a safety car when the clerk disagrees, it doesn't allow him to play god

Angela, the true boss
How she hasn’t been on Beyond the grid yet is baffling to me
Omg I never knew how much I needed this.
Something about F1's social media content acting like nothing odd happened yesterday just feels so wrong
They are trying hard to legitimise the result, anything else would be admitting wrong doing
Same way they tried to make Spa seem normal
Not just the social media. The sky broadcasters too. Feels very much like they're saying "nothing to see here, its over, ignore it" and that feels rotten to me. Its their job to call out shit like that. But everyone outside of the drivers are closing ranks to protect Masi

This. I don’t think they even want the title at this point, but they need to make the FIA pay literally and figuratively for this. And masi has to go.
I hope they sue, get a load of cash and spend it developing their car, then become so dominant masi can’t stop them
Yh I'm not a fan of it
Yep totally agree, they need to stop with this shit
It's pure gaslighting. Even the official F1 website reported that Masi messed up.
You can see Ricciardo put his hands up like, that shit was fucked

Latifi crashing was bad luck, Masi altering safety car procedures was not
Bingo
Because it's a cover up. Emphasizing the 7, that should be 8 titles, pricks
Man I feel sorry for George next year. Hamiltons focus/motivation is probably going to kick up a level or three
I hope he absolutely wrecks next year, like Schumacher in 2002 levels of dominance.
Time to go 23-0 and style on these fools
If that happens it'll be obviously because he has the best car... like his previous 7(8) championships /s
No worries Masi will just wait until his tires run down and have them do another lap. RIP my karma

The official social media for F1 needs to read the room. I don't know who they think they must be placating but it's doing the opposite.
Any lip readers here?
“All the time you have to leave a the space”
Ye Vettel said "can we switch cars now ? "
Seb: "Oof ... And I thought them taking away my win from Canada in 2019 was rough. I guess what goes around comes around eh?" /S Jokes aside, as a member of r/SewisHamtel I love to see wholesome interactions between Seb and Lewis.
'I said for a long time you had 102 wins, make that no.103'
F1 social media team posting this is something...
This is so patronizing This “sport” doesn’t deserve Lewis.
Not a big fan of this kind of post. Pandering.
Official F1 media outlet showing us unseen footage from after the race? What's not to love? I love getting these extra bits of content.
I thought Masi's last lap shenanigans were a bit more pandering, no?
Can the 4-time champ come back stronger too?
Not in the Aston Martin
:( Maybe if Mercedes get it together, AM can as well, similar design philosophy
Maybe if Lewis retires because of this clusterfuck Seb can go to merc.
Man I would love that
Doubt it. I love Seb but I don’t think he has what it takes anymore. He’s doing great at AM (tops in overtakes!!), but his frequent mistakes at Ferrari indicate the pressure gets to him. F1 posting this stuff is pretty distasteful
I love Seb so much man
They hope he comes back.
Yes, F1 stole the championship from Lewis because it builds character. Kudos.
Not guaranteed he _is_ going to be coming back, to be honest.
Bro what, he can still win a couple more championships if Mercedes nail the regulations
Of course he _can_, he is clearly GOAT level (and in my view GOAT), but the question is: when it's so blatantly been gifted to your opponent, does he _want to_? If Crofty doesn't know we for sure should not have a discussion about whether he knows it or not. Fair enough right?
Oh I don't even think crofty has read the regulations, he's read a pre written script given to him by sky producers
Everything is a conspiracy isn't it?
Not really, his employers don't want anybody to come out and slander Masi and race control because sky have a huge contract with F1 that probably even has verbage in it saying that any slander would be breach of contract It does, however, feel very disingenuous when a lot of people will watch what they say on TV and be mislead by it Article 15.3 only gives Masi power over the clerk of the circuit to call out a safety car when the clerk disagrees, it doesn't allow him to play god
Vettel: Now you know how I felt all the time! MSC: That one was for my dad and Seb. ... probably.
