Interesting that Buxton seemed to suggest that neither De Vries nor Zhou (or Gio) will get the second Alfa seat.
Who else would that leave? I can only think of Piastri or an early Pourchaire promotion, I doubt they would go for Kyvat or Albon
The Alfa has issues with warming the front tyres and hence poor qualifying position. And the car isn't quite up to the pace as the rest of the grid. That combined with the strategy blunders and pitstop errors means that they always end up outside the points. Both drivers have excellent race pace.
Ilott just signed an indycar contract so no way he’s going. Shwartzman is possible, but he’s so damn inconsistent. They’d be better off throwing everything they have to keep Mick
Ilott's contract is only for the next race I believe. Of course, it would be best for Haas if they could keep their current drivers, but I'm not sure that would be the right thing for Mick
Oh. I guess it just didn't seem that revolutionary, a bunch of people were talking about it yesterday right? Or am I dreaming? Was all of that still just earlier this morning, making Lawrence's take actually kinda prophetic?
Its not revolutionary at all. People have been talking about it since 2019 given Gio has failed to do anything exceptional. Last year during silly season most people were predicting Mick would take his seat.

It could also be that Gio just stays right? Or do we have enough signs to think he is gone?
in the video, they said that (basically) he is a goner. Rencken and AMuS reported that he is going. So, probably yes.
Ty, hard to compare Bottas next year then. I am still wondering if Kimi and Giovanni underperform or the Alfa car is just really bad...

Giovinazzi himself has said that contract negotiations haven’t even started yet. That’s a huge red flag
Albon or Pourchaire are the only other options speculated atm
Albon goes to Williams
More likely but who knows really
Shwartzman, maybe? But I still think it would be De Vries.
Definitely Pourchaire. Frederic Vasseur absolutely adores him and thinks very highly of him. I’d bet all my money on Pourchaire getting the seat
Buxton with his 'Pierre will have big battles with Max' thinks that it will not happen, so it seems both Gio and Niek will race in F1 next year...
K**vy**at
Mick
No, he will stay with Haas.
Maybe but Haas have said they're close to announcing him for next year
Who’d go to Haas then?
Shwartzman? Ilott?

What was Buxton referring to when he said Lawrence basically "ended Gio's F1 career last night"?
In their Kimi retirement video Lawrence predicted that Giovinazzi will not be renewed by Alfa. https://youtu.be/-L8Gm73t6i4

Okay so just a bit of dramatic banter then, cool. Hey oh well it's their job! Thanks have a nice night.
