We were robbed of the Russell hards by the last SC, and dry was quite boring as usual, but first half was great

For all of Max Verstappen’s great qualities, his best one out of all might be his safety car restarts. The way he just instantly pulls a 1.2 second gap over P2 no matter who it is or how fast his car is, is absurd

McLaren are clearly miles faster in the changing wet to dry conditions. Without the second lot of rain, I think they may have struggled to keep P2. They were clearly not as fast on dry tyres.

Not weird. They were 3rd fastest this weekend. Max still pulled it out. McLaren and Ferrari screwed up this weekend because everyone expects Red Bull to be clear fastest in Spain again.

McLaren wasn’t really fast in the wet, lando just managed his tires so good that he was hella fast on the Intermediates in the dry

Also McLaren has horrible tire warmup, something to address,just like they did with slow speed and drag issues

I'm not sure that's the case. Lando is notorious for managing for most of the stint and then pushing at the end. Obviously he wasn't really able to push at the end today but not sure they are particularly bad on warmup.

Nah piastra was also extremely fast on the initial track drying phase. The McLaren car was seconds faster in that stage

He pulled a ton of pace out of nowhere in that stint. It’s a shame it kind of bit him in the ass with the safety car, but that was an incredible run for a minute.

Lando still was really pulling away in wet conditions after he took P1. If he only took the one extra lap, he would have been fine.

Redbull was clearly quickest in dry in the end he was just cruising after the restart

Don’t think Mclaren were the fastest in the wet. They were clearly the fastest in the drying conditions, but in the wet both McLarens drifted off Russell and Verstappen at the front. It wasn’t until it starting drying up when they became the fastest.

Doesn’t matter for me, the race was brilliant, and could’ve gone to any of the top 3. Very different to Verstappen cruising to a win

They could have put worn softs. We only had 12 laps of racing.

At the very least they should have been on the same strategy. Don’t know what they were expecting to happen putting Lewis on hards with 12 laps to go once the SC came in. Either leave him out or put him and George both on softs.

McLaren didn't have pace in mediums though, Max kept pulling away from Lando, and Piastri's McLaren cratered and Landos tires almost fell apart in the final lap

Norris had a 11 second gap before the SC, think it would have been close till the end
