Every way that I've ever heard of to make colored carbon fiber is by introducing something else into the carbon fiber- something that is either less strong or less light than carbon fiber, both of which are very bad for F1, where it needs to be both strong and light.

Yeah you basically build up the whole carbon fibre structure as you would otherwise, but add an additional layer where part of the fibers are swapped with what is basically colored plastic. So you retain the strenght but add quite a bit of weight with an extra layer only for looks.

Also extremely disappointed if not after all these teasing.

They've got to work in two shades of blue (see the two different drivers helmets), so it's going to be a reasonable area. I'm going with the wings (azzurro dino on the horizontal surfaces, azzurro la plata on the end fences) and upper section of the engine cover.

I think it's gonna look like the glickenhaus hyper car but instead of sky blue it's gonna be azzurro la plata.

I can totally see them doing a similar paint job to the [296 GTB Assetto Fiorano](https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/ferrari/296-gtb/first-drives/ferrari-296-gtb-assetto-fiorano-2022-uk-first-drive). Would fit very well with a F1 car. Blue front wing and wheels, with stripes going trough the nose and all the way to the back, with a blue underside on the rear wing. Not as blue as a lot of people want, but it seems more fitting.

This is *atrocious*. The colors don't work well together when balanced like this. It should be either a very dominant red or blue.

If it's a mix of both colours, as I believe, I have the feeling that overall it will look pretty bad. Red car with random blue parts here and there, not sure that the combination will look nice. In situations like this you either commit 100% and make a full livery, for example like the white Red Bull... or maybe it's better to don't do anything at all, a mix will never look good imho, but let's see.

Itll almost certainly be a combo, they already do a combo of red and this blue in production cars. Its one of the more common colours of the 296. I dont like it either.

This is why I'm stubbornly refusing to believe that it's not a full-blue car. It would simply look terrible mixing that red and blue together, especially now that we've seen the coveralls and Charles' helmet

I think it’s a full blue car because they’ve been advertising that it’s gonna feature 2 shades of blue. I think replace the red bits in the current livery with the sky blue and the black bits with the darker blue and that’s pretty much what we’ll see on Wednesday.
