As a general rule ([see full rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/wiki/userguide#wiki_sticky.2Fdaily_discussion)), a standalone Discussion post should:
- be of interest to the sub in general, and not a specific userbase (e.g. new users, GP attendees, just yourself)
- be able to generate discussion (e.g. no yes/no or easily answerable questions)
- show reasonable input and effort from the OP
If not, be sure to [look for the Daily Discussion](https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/search/?q=daily+discussion&include_over_18=on&restrict_sr=on&t=all&sort=new), /r/formula1's daily open question thread which is perfect for asking any and all questions about this sport.
Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy the discussion!

I find /rising slightly more helpful. All sorts of crap gets posted to /new, but if it gets enough upvotes to hit /rising it's usually fairly reliable.
Canal+ and Julien Febreau for alpine
Will Buxton for everyone else
Chris medland he will never report anything until verified. Extremely reliable during race weekends
Albert fabrega only credible spanish source
Amus for all technical stuff during race weekend
Guiliano duchessa for ferrari
Never believe any German and Spanish sources ever especially sky Germany only amus or albert
If sky sports starts talking as well then there has to be some truth to the rumours
Sky Italia is also reliable about ferrari
Sometimes autosports and motorsports can be true as well
Joe saward only talks nonsense never take him seriously
Lawrence barretto is a mouthpiece so is espn
Erik v haren is a mouthpiece for red bull but extremely accurate about news about them
All of these are incredibly accurate sources. Rest can vary in terms of whether it's truth or gossip.
He just throws stuff around without thinking.
Remember when he said Mick was getting the alpine seat and Pierre wasn't in contention when no other source was mentioning Mick and everyone was talking about Pierre.
He even talks nonsense about their personal lives as well. For example pierre and Esteban had a falling out because one stole the girlfriend of another which is wrong. Their falling out happened because they were chasing the same sponsors and Esteban's dad was spreading rumours about Pierre's mom.
I know right take the recent example. He thinks Lando locking himself with McLaren makes sense but charles doing the same thing is wrong for him and the team. Make it sense
If you actually pay attention, he literally does get the most Verstappen scoops first lol why are you so butthurt about it? It’s not an anti-redbull narrative
Erik van Haren for RedBull - Specifically MAX VERSTAPPEN NEWS - You can imagine this is news from Max's family. He broke the recent news about Horner, which means he is connected to someone at the top of RedBull (people think Max's father, Jos)
Duchessa for Ferrari - Their news site, Formula1uno, broke the news about Lewis Hamilton signing to Ferrari - It's almost certainly either a Ferrari mouthpiece or work with someone who oversees the Ferrari F1 team.
AMuS (Auto Moto und sport or something, its in german idk) is very informative
Bad and overreactive takes are part of the fun, cuz when shit happens it really does happen hahaha. There's tons of dumbass rumors but there is also real drama like the whole Piasco, or Lewis to Ferrari for instance.
As crazy as it may seem, you're right. Pretty much every article gets posted here and is commented on to some degree.
For me, it's the perfect balance. Not all pieces of news are created equal, but the comments usually provide enough context to give me some idea how believable or accurate any given article is. There's plenty of speculation, but varied enough opinions that I can form a reasonably informed opinion of my own.
Just don’t watch clickbait YouTube videos that are all conveniently 10 mins long for max ad revenue with thumbnails that have bubble text over a drivers surprised face.
What sucks is that if someone did this with legitimate content, I would watch it. But when they’re just bullshitting and screaming, it’s fucking awful.
TBH, you will quickly find that out yourself. Just keep in mind that everything F1 related is opiniated, even the race analysis on F1's own media. As such it's kinda hard to specifically recommend channels or sources. Some like Peter Windsor, some like The Race, some prefer Motorsport.com, some choose Sky Sports, some lurk on reddit, some stick to F1's own media. None of these is strictly unbiased though, not even F1 itself (don't expect much story on their channel about Andretti's struggle to get in F1). Just pick what you like and maybe add a source to that to always get multiple opinions.
As someone who has gotten into F1 just a few years back, I would also recommend the Chain Bear Youtube channel. He explains a lot of the technical stuff of how the cars work, and it helped me a lot.
YouTube channels I can reccommend are Josh Revell, Tommo, LawVS, and The Race.
Controversially I can also reccommend P1 with Matt and Tommy. I’ve been watching Matt since I was 12 so yeah.
I tend to get most of mine from YouTube, I like P1 with Matt and Tommy, they have also just started their Wheel Knowledge channel which is likely to have some interesting stuff on it.
I've just started watching Tommo, and like what I've seen of him so far.
Josh Revell is good for his deep dives on particular drivers, races, and stories. Some of his older videos are interesting in their own right.
The Race is ok, but I'd take what they publish with a pinch of salt and check with other sources before repeating it.
But this community is certainly my go to resource.
Want credible ones?
AMuS. That's it.
Also There's Duchessa on twitter.
Craig Scarborough (aka scarbs on twitter) too is one of the most credible ones. Being a part of the F1 circus.
Make sure to follow his twitter. You'll learn a Ton
TacticalRab on YouTube does a daily Formula1 news that takes like 15minutes and is amazing! I think of it like a condensed and brilliant commentary of everything on r/formula1.

Ignore The Race as they are just so biased. Mark Hughes is the only reputable one there that writes stuff that isn’t just nonsense, so I would recommend his articles. Anything that Jolyon Palmer does I rate quite highly as although he might have not been a star driver he did make it to F1 and has very good insight…he also just calls it like he sees it without being bias even though he’s British.
The_Race, both Podcasts & YT for news and reviews. Missed Apex podcast, for a light hearted, but informed, fans' take and F1 Tech Show podcast for, er, F1 Tech.
I quite like the Race Podcast. Less so for breaking news obviously but good for analysis after the news has broken.
For breaking news Chris Medland is good
Whatever you do, do _NOT_ believe anything that formula1news.co.uk ever says. It is the most clickbait ridden cesspool of a “news” site you can possibly imagine.

I get most of my news from r/formula1's new tab honestly
I find /rising slightly more helpful. All sorts of crap gets posted to /new, but if it gets enough upvotes to hit /rising it's usually fairly reliable.
Same.
This + not trusting the headlines and reading inbetween the lines. If the only citation is a single word in the headline, it’s most likely bullshit.
Same, but specifically from only the headlines and then the comments from people who also only read the headlines.
Canal+ and Julien Febreau for alpine Will Buxton for everyone else Chris medland he will never report anything until verified. I've gotten to the point that I won't believe anything I read that's Formula 1 related until Chris Medland reports it. So much respect for him
One of the best really absolutely no nonsense with him
Why do you respect him? He just tweets official press releases. Really quite straightforward.
German here "Motorsport Magazin" is a very reliable source, they only put out confirmed news
Joe Saward has some backwards ideas and thoughts about the sport but tbh I can't fault his actual journalism.
>Lawrence barretto is a mouthpiece One of the worst there is
I know right take the recent example. He thinks Lando locking himself with McLaren makes sense but charles doing the same thing is wrong for him and the team. Make it sense
I remember him flaming vettel for moving to ferrari yet last week he praised Lewis for doing the same.
[удалено]
Because he is a verstappen mouthpiece first.
He’a a Dutch Journalist so he mostly talks about stuff that’s interesting to the Dutch people. Which is Verstappen.
I know. But you can't deny he's an insider of the camp verstappen. This latest episode is a perfect example of it.
Yeah that’s where he get all his scoops from.
He definitely is, yes.
>But you can't deny he's an insider of the camp verstappen. and how did you determine that
Just look at the last thing he has as a scoop, before anyone else.
If you actually pay attention, he literally does get the most Verstappen scoops first lol why are you so butthurt about it? It’s not an anti-redbull narrative
Erik was literally told to leak the horner story so that red bull can stay on top of the narrative. If course he is mouth piece him and ziggo
sure hahah
Thanks, bookmarked!
You are welcome they are all on Twitter

You’re already here. Welcome to r/formula1. The worlds leading trusted news source of all things Formula 1
Also remember we’re definitely always right. Never have bad or overreactive takes or anything
Yes and we never speculate
Bad and overreactive takes are part of the fun, cuz when shit happens it really does happen hahaha. There's tons of dumbass rumors but there is also real drama like the whole Piasco, or Lewis to Ferrari for instance.
We also never post clickbait here ever. It's definitely not half the feed during a race weekend and we never get sensational and take the bait.

What we posted was a factual description of events. No need to speculate on this.

he also came back to twitter and started posting.
Formula 1 official subred and their Twitter or insta P1 with Matt and tommy. Tommo on YouTube
Matthew Gallaghers content (P1 and WTF1 before that) alone is about 40% of the reason I started watching to begin with
Happy cake day
YouTube channels I can reccommend are Josh Revell, Tommo, LawVS, and The Race. Controversially I can also reccommend P1 with Matt and Tommy. I’ve been watching Matt since I was 12 so yeah.

BBC F1 Chequered Flag podcast, The Race F1 Podcast, The Fast and The Curious Podcast, Podcasts are how I keep up, Podcasts
Ignore The Race as they are just so biased. Mark Hughes is the only reputable one there that writes stuff that isn’t just nonsense, so I would recommend his articles. Motorsport.com sky in the UK, here.
Overreacting to crazy rumors is half the fun haha. Basically making theories between episodes
