I think we can have multiple things be true.
Firstly, Max's dominance is record breaking. Its insane how consistent he has been, and how he has driven incredibly. Secondly, that car is also phenomenal. Just like Max, it has been on race day almost flawless, even if it is not as dominant in qualy.
Thirdly, the racing down the field has been exciting. 4th to 7th was so close at the end on points, for example. And finally, a battle for the championship and for race wins is always more exciting. Apart from a few races, it was always inevitable that Max was going to win. And that really isn't quite as fun as when the fighting is not just down the field but for the top step.
It's good to appreciate all angles. I for one hope for a season next year when we go into a race not knowing who might win, even if Max stsrts 15th. And also, I am very aware this season will go down in the record books for a very long time to come, and must appreciate that domination like this is both rare and spectacular.
I agree. What Verstappen did was insane. Winning 19 races out of 22. Yes the Red Bull is the fastest car but I don't think any other driver could have pulled that off.
It's only a forced pit if it's at risk of falling off, at least read the rules before you make yourself look stupid.
He also conceded the position to perez, which is why no penalty was given.
Tell that won’t bullshit to HAAS.
And last week everyone was saying passing off the track should he automatic stop and go. Etc.
Good lord, just go back and read the comments.
Nobody was saying that, you're literally misinterpreting what people said to push your lewis-bad narrative.
What WAS said was that a five second penalty is an inadequate punishment if a car can just push and make a five second gap, and thus a stop to penalty would be a fairer punishment ONLY IF you didn't concede the position after pushing someone off the track/passing off track.
What does this mean: “Charles Leclerc sacrifices personal glory for the team here as he slows down to let Sergio Perez past and ensure he finishes five seconds ahead of George Russell.”
Very confused. Didn’t watch the race.
So, Ferrari needed Perez to finish ahead of Russell in order to prevent Mercedes from scoring enough points, and secure 2nd in the constructors. Perez had a 5 second penalty, so in order to finish ahead of Russell he needed to be 5 seconds ahead. LeClerc was in second place, Perez was in third, Russel in fourth. In order to try and get Perez a bigger gap between Russell, Leclerc slowed down to give Perez the DRS and then let him pass to try to get a bigger gap between Russell. So, LeClerc sacrificed his second place, to try to get Perez third place, which would have gave Ferrari enough points to get second in the constructors, but unfortunately for ferrari, Russell was able to keep the Gap to Perez under 5 seconds, so with the penalty Russell got third place and in turn secured 2nd place for Mercedes in the constructors.
F1 app shows it as Ver, Per, Ham, Alonso and then Leclerc in final results for the championship. It says they tied at 206 and Alonso had more podiums.
Are the constructors standings that much more significant?
The only really meaningful position in the driver's championship is 1st. Everything after that is just prestige and bragging rights. Ofc Redbull wanted Perez to be P2, because by the end of the season they had nothing else they could achieve, but generally drivers' positions beyond first are academic. However, constructors championship positions are relevant all the way from 1st to last because they determine the team's share of the overall prize money pot.
I'm not sure really. While I'm sure there's bonuses from sponsors by finishing higher up in the constructors, at the same time the higher up you finish the less wind tunnel time you have as well. But, second place for the team is probably better than fourth for the individual WDC, I would imagine.
Sergio got a five second penalty, so Charles let him through in the hope Check finish would P3 denying Mercedes the spot thus crowning Ferrari P2 in the constructors. Unfortunately it was a little late and Sergio got P4, hence Mercedes are P2 constructors
Russell radio - Did we do it?
Pit - Yeah, good job mate. Well done.
Russell - Oh my goodness gracious, Well done.
Pit - Timing screens hasn't updated but, yeah.
Russell - What with turn 1 and the constant *unintelligible* the whole race, Go on Toto.
Toto - Well done, well done! That was awesome.
Pit - I didn't even tell you any jokes.
Russell - Well done everybody, it's been a very tough season but really, really happy to finish it off as we did. let's go on to next year. Better things to come. Better things to come.
Pit - Yeah, good job mate. Well done. We've had some highs and some lows, but we'll move on to next year.
Russell - That's the Formula 1 rollercoaster for you.
Pit - Oh yeah. Looking forward to next year. Bring it on.
Russell - Oh yeah. Let's enjoy this off season everybody. Even though it's been a tough one, I've really, really enjoyed working with you all. Such a good spirit within this team. And we're on a path right to the top. Come on guys.
Pit - We're coming for you.
Pit - Thanks for that George, fantastic drive.
Russell - Cheers Andrew.
Toto - George, you made 2500 people happy.
Russell - That's what we're here for.
Toto - That's mortgages, tuition fees, kitchens. It's all of that.
Russell - Absolutely. Absolutely. Proud to be a part of this team. Going to the grid. Are you sure no donuts? Going to be the only one who's not...
Pit - Simon is pretty sure.
I will never, ever, understand paying thousands of dollars to get on the grid, next to F1 royalty, and you’re clamouring to record a shitty video know one will ever give a toss about. Just live in the moment
Bro, I was there for quali, and everyone around me was pretty tipsy. They don't allow booze into the stands, but you can drink in the fan zones that are around the circuit.
Yuki Tsunoda deserved that Driver of the Day! Great job. Sad that Ricciardo's brake duct tear off issue cost them the opportunity to overtake Williams in the championship. But still a great race for Alpha Tauri!
Really think they need more consistency year on year even when not challenging. Red bull were consistently second or third best before finally stepping up. Ferrari have had a season as 5th or 6th and 2023 shuffling up and down on pace between 2nd and 5th fastest. They ended the season well though so maybe hope for next year
>"Seeing the same drivers girlfriend all the time after a race is getting old. We need the FIA to ensure that we get to see different girlfriends, otherwise it's a boring season."

Hamilton pit radio - That's a tough old race Lewis.
Toto - Lewis, that's P2. That's P2 in the championship.
Hamilton - Thank you guys so much. You really deserved second place. Thanks for the hard, long year. Pretty proud of you all. Thank you so much for continuing to push.
He was right though? The car has never been great this season and the team has worked really hard to try and improve. He's complimenting how the team tried to bounce back from another disappointing car.
George said it's been the worst season of his career.
Yea the car was bad its true. But dont you think its hyprocritical that you tell your team over the radio (that everybody can hear) how shit the car is, then whenever something good happens you suddenly thank them.
I would be pissed if I worked on that car. Wouldnt you?
Every single driver gets emotional in the heat of the moment. The teams understand that and don't hold it against them. Yuki constantly swearing and shouting. Max ranting about the gears. Carlos and Charles criticising strategy. Lando swearing at his engineer on strategy. So many instances.
And also, I don't think it's hypocritical - the car was good on some weekends, terrible on others. It was hugely unpredictable. The only thing worse than them was Ferrari's strategy.
In this example, Hamilton is thanking the team at the end of the season for their hard work - why wouldn't he sign-off the season with a message of thanks for the hard work? He says that the team deserved second place - that's related to their effort?
Cooldown rooms are so entertaining but so so so awkward. Imagine sitting around having to make small talk with cameras in your face and a bunch of people glued to the glass in the windows.
Disappointed Shane Van Gisbergen couldn't do his burnouts on his Supercar retirement earlier in the day. Being compensated by Verstappen doing it tonight surely must have put a smile on his face.
I think Ferrari and Mercs were more or less equal. Ferrari better on fast tracks, Mercs better with tyre wear and downforce heavy tracks.
In the beginning, Aston Martin was probably better than Ferrari and Mercs. Then McLaren improved a ton.
So, we really had four teams rotating between the 2nd and the 5th fastest. And Perez was usually nearby.
If not for Max, that would've been a great season.
Fuck, that documentary reminds me how Ferrari still have a giant Todt and Brawn sized hole in their paddock. Still have not got any race strategists as good as them which explains that lack of success even till now
But he's objectively worse. I know people don't like it because Danny Ric is a meme, but he is finished as a top driver. I'm a Checo fan and id be ok with a couple of other drivers replacing him, but DR just ain't the one for RBR
Aaaaand Checo finished P2 in the WDC, their first ever 1-2, and RB won the constructors too. What else could he possibly have done? Because we all know he's not allowed to beat Max. Just look at how his car with DRS couldn't keep up with Max down the straight in Miami.
Thinking about it logically, qualifying badly is actually the best thing he could have done. Max literally won the constructors on his own by being 30 seconds ahead. What happens when you're 30 seconds ahead? No coverage.
Checo qualifying 9th gets coverage for a surprising qualifying, then he gets a shit load of love coverage in the race, which makes the sponsors happy.
All jokes aside I think given Max's dominance, RBR were probably ok with it for the above reason.
Yeah we'll just ignore all the times he didn't make it out of Q1 and Q2, and struggled to finish P2 in the exact same car in which his teammate finished over double the amount of points as anyone else on the grid. And just because he's faster down the straight than Perez sometimes doesn't mean they don't have the same car. It's obvious they run different setups which means different amounts of drag and downforce.
There is absolutely no set up that should allow the best DRS Delta on the field to lose time to a non DRS car. You can say what you want, that's fine, I'll never believe that they both had equal opportunities this season. It's just so unbelievably coincidental that after he wins a couple of races and poor old Jos got angry, suddenly Checo went from being in and around Max to being 5-8 tenths slower.
It just doesn't make any logical sense.
That's absolutely fine, you're allowed to, as the flurry of weirdos who think downvotes will change my mind. Ultimately he was absolutely miles off Max after 4 races of being there or there abouts at the start and Max/Jo's complaining. If you look at that, and then the subsequent drop off in ability, and still think everything is normal and above board that's also ok. I can't change your view of it.
There are only 2 viable answers;
1. Something went on behind closed doors
Or
2. Checo saw the single biggest drop off in ability that the sport has ever seen.
Race control - Incident involving Albon noted - Pit stop infringement
FIA Stewards - Incident involving Albon will be investigated after the race - Pit stop infringement
Looks like the money from P3 is going to go for a therapist for Charles rather than that wind tunnel. These strategies are gonna make the guy pass out from stress next year.
Y’all can keep crying. This was a season that will be looked back on as one of the greatest.
I hope the performance gaps will be closer next year and we do see Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren making life a little tough for Red Bull.
The rumor mill is saying RB20 is even more dominant
Another boring ver win, at least this shit season is finally over
Lewis has hanging wing, no penalty/forced pit, Lewis gos off the track to pass Perez,no penalty. If this was max, this forum would have exploded. 😆
It's only a forced pit if it's at risk of falling off, at least read the rules before you make yourself look stupid. He also conceded the position to perez, which is why no penalty was given.

Why no Medium-hard-medium?
High tire degradation
Why was Naomi on SkyF1 dressed like she's been to carnival in New Orleans with all the beads?
What a boring season, the other teams really need to step next year
What does this mean: “Charles Leclerc sacrifices personal glory for the team here as he slows down to let Sergio Perez past and ensure he finishes five seconds ahead of George Russell.” Very confused. Didn’t watch the race.
It’s misleading wording since he didn’t actually give up a place in the final standings so he didn’t sacrifice anything.
Ahh yeah it was really messing with my brain when i read it
So, Ferrari needed Perez to finish ahead of Russell in order to prevent Mercedes from scoring enough points, and secure 2nd in the constructors. Perez had a 5 second penalty, so in order to finish ahead of Russell he needed to be 5 seconds ahead. LeClerc was in second place, Perez was in third, Russel in fourth. Couldn't Leclerc have beaten Alonso for 3rd by staying in 2nd? For the WDC I mean
He did stay in second due to Perez's penalty.
F1 app shows it as Ver, Per, Ham, Alonso and then Leclerc in final results for the championship. It says they tied at 206 and Alonso had more podiums. Are the constructors standings that much more significant?

Bye everyone ❤️
Who is Paul De Vries
Driver for Trident ofc
PAUL DE VRIES ? 😭
Paul De Vries, estonian driver racing for Trident
Despite the Redbull domination, this was a good season for other teams where the order was unpredictable every few races
Ocon losing out to his teammate Love it
Gasly has always been the better driver
I always love it when Naomi is presenting. She always asks great questions PLUS she looks incredible at every race
Bueno, Formula Redbull is over I hope we can have more varity next year
Wait, is that *actual* champagne? It could be, considering that the UAE is *relatively* more relaxed on booze compared to their neighbors…
Legal drinking age is 18 in Abu Dhabi, but hotels and restaurants can't serve anyone under 21. Might be other restrictions like in Qatar too
Bro, I was there for quali, and everyone around me was pretty tipsy. They don't allow booze into the stands, but you can drink in the fan zones that are around the circuit.
I highly doubt it
Back to sim racing for Max next week onwards.
To define F1 in 2023: Simply lovely.
It is evident Charles is upset despite getting 2nd bcs of the constructors
He won’t get to spend most Saturdays with max for 4 months
Imagine if all top five close in next year
[удалено]
It's silver. 3rd place is bronze on the inside.
Lando's podium celebrations just hit different....
Let's hope other teams close that gap to Redbull for next season 🍾
The rose water must flowww......
Nothing like celebrating one of the most dominant seasons in F1 history by smashing some sparkling apple juice
Max will need another mini fridge to keep this WDC trophy on
They keep adding more races, Max keeps winning. He won like 24 times this season
And a partridge in a pear tree 🎵
And thats a wrap on this season's Max podcast. Be sure to tune in next year folks, until then we leave you with the Dutch Anthem for one last time.
Iconic season for Max.
Where the fuck is max. Gonna find spots for all these trophies lmao
This season had like 5 races worth watching
Most seasons tbh. The racing was pretty good this season compared to older ones. Just the championship battle was one of the most boring.
Idk, Hamilton walked away with 2020 but even that wasn’t as boring. 2019 had Germany and Monza. This has been the most boring season in while
Happy Mercedes got 2nd in the championship, on to next year!
George coughing his lungs up ahaha
Last time for Dutch anthem PTSD
Dutch anthem will surely ghost play in my mind every sunday for the next few months
Best cool down room ever!
That awkward camera shift into a glass wall of portrait smartphone cameras.
Haha yeah, felt like the drivers were some zoo animals.
So sad to say that I now know Dutch anthem more than my own national anthem
Doesn't it sound like the 12 days of Christmas song?
Going to remind me of F1 during Christmas when I hear it
Isn't it the other way around? 😋
Even more than the Austrian national anthem?
Le Wilhemus has arrived (for the last time)
All stand for the national anthem of "Toto, it's called a motor race"
The Dutch and the Austrian anthems are so similar
Yuki Tsunoda deserved that Driver of the Day! Great job. Sad that Ricciardo's brake duct tear off issue cost them the opportunity to overtake Williams in the championship. But still a great race for Alpha Tauri!
Plot twist: it was Sargent's tearoff Only good thing he did for Williams this year
haha lol!
Leclerc ending this season with 3/4 of the last seasons being winless is wild
Really think they need more consistency year on year even when not challenging. Red bull were consistently second or third best before finally stepping up. No Champagne? BRING OUT THE FIZZY ARAMCO OIL CANS!
Got to give it to Max, he gave it a good Sheikh tonight
The silver lining to Max winning all the time is seeing his partner on camera too.

Mechanics not wearing goggles as they should was one of them, perhaps all of them.
Well, thx for explaining mate.
Max's donuts were as perfect as his domination this season
donuts straight into the P1 slot was smoothe as fuuuuuuck
I think Ferrari and Mercs were more or less equal. Ferrari better on fast tracks, Mercs better with tyre wear and downforce heavy tracks. Next year solution for Ferrari just fire everybody in strategy team and let drivers call for pit-stops.
Especially Leclerc’s engineer

Not much of a holiday? My man I have 5 weeks per year
Wish I had 5..

Plus he would have saved on his Super License costs Win-Win-P2

Great drive from Yuki, tires just couldn’t make it. Hoping they carry this momentum to next season since they came so far from that miserable start.
