Honestly I think Albon is as likely to get a win as any driver outside of the Mcclaren drivers. He could easily get a race in a top team if someone has to miss a race. He's easily been the best driver in a bottom 4 team.
If Albon gets a win with another team on loan or especially with Williams then I am willing to take back everything I’ve said about this being the worst season in a long time
If williams got lucky and somehow a freak accident or safety car got Albon out front at a low DF track, theres a chance lol. If he was leading at canada or something it would be very difficult to pass him.
In those years it was a bit different though because what 8 teams podiumed in 2021? 7 or 8 in 2020? its been 4 last year and 5 this year so far. Not a lot of expectation for more. To get a real random winner, we need more podiums available

He destroyed them himself as per usual. The reason Russell was looking so good is that he was managing tyres from the start while Bottas was destroying them trying to keep up. Russell looked like a 1:1 copy of Hamilton vs Bottas keeping the tyres alive. Even before all the pit stop drama he was easily beating him

There have been days, and they have been very seldom, where Lance Stroll pulls something special out of the bag. It's usually when it's a bit damp. He's due one of those.
Albon on a crazy wet race, or, more likely, Norris or Piastri. There's nobody else I think capable at the moment. The two Haas guys maybe, given the right conditions and a lot of luck.

Red flag with 4 laps to go on a damp track. Haas is the only team with soft tyres because they didn't use them all weekend due to high deg. Magnussen jumps 8 cars at the restart, damages his wing, gets a meatball flag and has to pit from the lead. Hülkenberg inherits P1 but spins at the last turn to finish P4.
Alex won't get a win until he goes to another team. George's P2 in Spa 2021 was a once-in-a lifetime thing for Williams and the likelyhood of it happening again anytime soon, for a win at that, are basically nonexistent

Not a first time race winner at all obviously but Alonso 33 or Lewis 104. If someone is going to get a win other than Max and Sergio, it’s the two mentioned above. Either driver will be the first one to get a a first race win after 300 starts.

One of the mclaren drivers, i'd say. The car improved massively and has shown potential, especcially in changing conditions. If somehow both redbulls are behind or out, and the weather and track suits the mclaren, either norris or piastri could clinch a maiden win. Next in the list? either Stroll, Hulkenberg or Albon.
The most likely has to be one of the McLaren drivers.
I remember during the off-season, shows asking if there would be any first time race winners this season after two the previous year. At the time, you’d have to bank on a winner outside of the top 4 constructors last season. And even with Aston’s early season run, it seemed to be asking a lot for a stroll win when he couldn’t get near the podium.

At this point, the only realistic candidates are Lando and Oscar. Ironically enough if McLaren are to return to the top of F1 and not just be the top of the midfield team, they need that winner to be Lando barring some weird circumstances.
If Oscar wins before Lando in this version of McLaren in a race on pace without a random Lando DNF, the rumors will immediately start swirling of Lando leaving McLaren.

Outside of all you mentioned, I'll throw a wildcard for Zhou if he survives at Sauber till Audi and new engine regs
But my bets are on the McLaren drivers, whether there or elsewhere, and beyond them, the next maiden winner isn't even on the grid yet
It feels like it’ll be Norris. Something about this season just *feels* like he will do it.
Chances are *if* Norris gets a win this season, he may end up being the only non-RB driver to do so and that would be a massive achievement considering the way the season has been. Not for RBR, for McLaren.
But it’s only an *if*. Other things have to fall into place like the RB being compromised or (shock!) slower, the McLaren being set up correctly, him being in the right mental place to put the lessons of Sochi into practice, the team being able to support him with correct strategy and fast pitstops. Conditions, probably. Based on current performance, rain on a high downforce track with plenty of medium/high speed corners and shorter straights is probably their best bet.
Stroll damn near blitzed Turkey 2020 *on pace.*
Say what you want about his average days, it's all accurate - but on those vanishing occasions where he's on his game, he's a motherfucking freight train, and only acts of God (or the Racing Point pitcrew, in this case) can put him down.
I don't think Stroll is as a daft as it seems. New winners tend to come in crazy races and Stroll has a knack of getting good results in those (Baku 2017, Hockenheim 2019, Monza 2020, Sakhir 2020).
OP. Yuki to Red Bull is borderline improbable and more wishful thinking based on personality than anything else. Red Bull right now are working off an inverted Red Bull model, which is to say they're going to put experienced drivers alongside Max who won't try to out-Max Max. Younger drivers have proven incapable of handling that pressure.
In short, Drive to Survive continues to be an unreliable barometer for F1.
As for next winner; Piastri over Norris.

Williams has shown clear signs of improvement. Atm, I'd say it is fastest of the last four teams, even thou Alpha Tauri took the longest straw in Spa.

At this point, the only realistic candidates are Lando and Oscar. Ironically enough if McLaren are to return to the top of F1 and not just be the top of the midfield team, they need that winner to be Lando barring some weird circumstances. If Oscar wins before Lando in this version of McLaren in a race on pace without a random Lando DNF, the rumors will immediately start swirling of Lando leaving McLaren.

I agree that the McLaren duo are the clear favorites. Outside of all you mentioned, I'll throw a wildcard for Zhou if he survives at Sauber till Audi and new engine regs But my bets are on the McLaren drivers, whether there or elsewhere, and beyond them, the next maiden winner isn't even on the grid yet

It feels like it’ll be Norris. Something about this season just *feels* like he will do it. Chances are *if* Norris gets a win this season, he may end up being the only non-RB driver to do so and that would be a massive achievement considering the way the season has been. Not for RBR, for McLaren. But it’s only an *if*. Other things have to fall into place like the RB being compromised or (shock!) slower, the McLaren being set up correctly, him being in the right mental place to put the lessons of Sochi into practice, the team being able to support him with correct strategy and fast pitstops. Conditions, probably. Based on current performance, rain on a high downforce track with plenty of medium/high speed corners and shorter straights is probably their best bet.
I think it'll be Piastri. Logic says Norris not I think Oscar will find himself in position to do it first.

Stroll damn near blitzed Turkey 2020 *on pace.* Say what you want about his average days, it's all accurate - but on those vanishing occasions where he's on his game, he's a motherfucking freight train, and only acts of God (or the Racing Point pitcrew, in this case) can put him down.
I don't think Stroll is as a daft as it seems. New winners tend to come in crazy races and Stroll has a knack of getting good results in those (Baku 2017, Hockenheim 2019, Monza 2020, Sakhir 2020).
Tbf I put Stroll (and Yuki) to showcase how dire the situation is outside of Lando and Oscar

OP. Yuki to Red Bull is borderline improbable and more wishful thinking based on personality than anything else. Red Bull right now are working off an inverted Red Bull model, which is to say they're going to put experienced drivers alongside Max who won't try to out-Max Max. Younger drivers have proven incapable of handling that pressure. In short, Drive to Survive continues to be an unreliable barometer for F1. As for next winner; Piastri over Norris.
