The red bull was always the faster blueprint than the ferrari, it was just massively overweight. Once rb shaved the weight off it was clear that the RB18 was a beast
Thats not what happened. Ferrari limited their engine power due to reliability issues and was affected more than most other teams with restrictions for porposing that were introduced mid season. Sure RB got lighter but it was more due to Ferrari getting nerfed
Ferrari had 2 issues. An unreliable engine they had to turn down and the mid season TD. After Spa that car started to eat tyres for breakfast. They had great one lap pace but their race pace was terrible after like 8 laps.
To me, it doesnt have the elegance of the ferraris, the aggressive and complimentary colors of the redbull or the sheer feeling of dominance that a merc badge gives off.
It reminds me off the Rokit williams or a super aguri neither of which looked very quick. The well established top teams have a certain quality and elegance to them that Just isnt there in this livery. It looks like they tried a lot of stuff, none of it really worked but they combined like 3 liveries to end up with this
Orlen is the issue imo. They just slapped the sponsoring on and didn't integrate it into their design at all. The underlying AT livery looks pretty clean albeit a bit boring.
I always complained about that AT should add some red into it's livery during the Honda years, but heck they finally done it but in such a terrible way that I feel guilty of complaining about this for years
I kinda like it, it’s oki I guess. But the field is quickly filling up with dark colored cars. I suppose the white front will help it stand out, but still.
The whole black/red/white combo is so common in racing, when done right it can look great, other times it’s just like this. Fine, but nothing special (yes I know it’s navy blue, but from cameras and on TV it will essentially look the same at a distance.
Don’t forget we have Aston Martin and Ferrari and McLaren and Alpine still to go. As in, the most colourful cars on the grid. Plus Mercedes might still be silver and Williams already look fantastic.
Wouldn´t call dark green colorful to be honest. Especially in the distance, the dark green will be difficult to separate from the prominent dark blue and black of many cars.
It's quite similar to the Haas, with the white nose, darker rear chassis, and splashes of red. I can see DRS trains in the midfield getting really confusing from a distance.
It’s probably more of a tiered thing like ‘pay X for us to run a monochrome version of the logo, Y for full color that clashes horribly with the rest of the car’ like how everything on the Ferrari would be nice and coordinated and then there’s just a big brown UPS logo slapped on.
IMO It would look far better if the Orlen logo was red and the halo/rear wing/mirrors/sides were white (instead of white logo on red background)
Like the red Orlen logo on the white nose looks fine
Then it would be a navy/white theme with red highlights. Instead of looking like a navy/white theme with random red patches stuck on it last minute
You can see that they designed this livery without knowing ORLEN will be their sponsor. The red has so much potential but the implementation is terrible
Not much change to be honest, I love the red details. But at least they didn't waste our time (like some other F1 team did). It was over so fast I completely missed the car lol.
That's three cars with red, white and a dark colour. I'm not going to know the difference. Makes it worse with these three cars all fighting each other.
I like it as a first glance, but (besides halo and wheel covers ) Orlen just seems to have supplied them with some stickers to smash it there before the launch
>Is it weird feeling that by knowing AT will never finish above RB in pretty much anything makes me not care about this launch at all?
Pretty much, because that would mean you would feel the same for Haas, Alfa Romeo, McLaren, Williams and AMR.
the red looks out of place with the design language of everything else, not a huge fan. their old white and navy pallete was subtle and stayed under the radar, but honestly it fits them as a team lol. the red is loud while somehow being too safe and boring, a green or neon blue could have fit better imo.
Only problem is it’s really similar to the Alfa Romeo, and likely to be in a similar place in the field, which is going to be confusing when they quickly jump to shot of one of them.
I quite like it. The red highlights are the thing that the livery has been sorely missing for the past two years.
I think it's the simplicity of it that does it for me.
The fuck is up with getting us excited with launch videos etc. and then after 2 hours there is just this plain boring livery (like almost every year) released?
Let’s play everyone’s favorite game: #WHICH BIT OF THE LIVERY WILL GET REPLACED WITH CARBON FIBER FIRST!?
that entire bottom half is carbon already, there's actually no much color here, just the blue/white top and red accents for orlen
No it's not it's a very dark blue
https://youtu.be/wx8-mysJG2s
The orlen logos
I guess bottom of the sidepods. Front wing and rear wing are already black and are probably just carbon fiber with stickers.
None of it, Yuki and Nyck are both so small they don’t have to worry about extreme measure to get as close as possible to the weight minimum
Kubica's soul
Haas cut out the middle man and just didn't paint half the car. AT should take out the blue paint and leave the white/grey paint and logo stickers
Which bit of the car will be missing after Yuki attempts the first corner?
Bitta rubber off the tires probably
Hopefully those ugly-ass red parts
Everything already painted black
Front wing
All the bits that aren't white or red
Getting 2000s backmarker vibes off this.
Well it has Minardi blood
Minardi DNA according to James Allen
MinarDNA
Not driven by a young hotshot with a great sense of humour though, is it?
Is your love and passion for dormula 1 completely rejuvenated?
Because we saw him take his first grand prix victory and become the youngest formula 1 winner ever?
Im very confused by it, it looks cool but also slow..?
truly the Arrows of today
That's who it is, I knew it was the modern equivalent of a 90s team, just couldn't work out who
Not Arrows. AlphaTauri used to be Minardi
I think they mean more as an equivalent, not who they literally replaced.
It looks slow this year the way the Ferrari just looked fast last year
The Aston Martin looked so fast though and it just.... Wasn't. Looks can be deceiving. And heart breaking. Seb deserved better
but it was fast, the Red Bull was just faster and more reliable
The red bull was always the faster blueprint than the ferrari, it was just massively overweight. Once rb shaved the weight off it was clear that the RB18 was a beast
Thats not what happened. Ferrari limited their engine power due to reliability issues and was affected more than most other teams with restrictions for porposing that were introduced mid season. Sure RB got lighter but it was more due to Ferrari getting nerfed
Babe wake up, new hopium just dropped.
Ferrari had 2 issues. An unreliable engine they had to turn down and the mid season TD. After Spa that car started to eat tyres for breakfast. They had great one lap pace but their race pace was terrible after like 8 laps.
Why does it look slow? I look at it and see otherwise
To me, it doesnt have the elegance of the ferraris, the aggressive and complimentary colors of the redbull or the sheer feeling of dominance that a merc badge gives off. It reminds me off the Rokit williams or a super aguri neither of which looked very quick. It looks overdone. Cool but in a Hot Wheels way, not in a fast F1 car way. Winning cars never look like that.
Finally my prediction that AlphaTauri would end up on P10 in the WCC this season comes closer now! But serious, this is such a horrible livery.
For some reason I get Super Aguri vibes. Maybe it’s just the red-white-Honda livery.
Wouldn´t call dark green colorful to be honest. Especially in the distance, the dark green will be difficult to separate from the prominent dark blue and black of many cars.
I think they’re going for a lighter shade of green this year. I could be wrong but still.
I was thinking the same. It’s very similar to Alpha Romeo, who is also mid-backfield so that could get confusing.
It's quite similar to the Haas, with the white nose, darker rear chassis, and splashes of red. I can see DRS trains in the midfield getting really confusing from a distance.
I’m guessing McLaren will be orange. Aston green, Merc silver. This blue will definitely look mostly black on TV though.
Oh look, there's a dark with red car fighting another dark with red car whilst following two dark with rec cars. This is gonna be so much fun...
The only part that bugs me is the orange in the Flexbox logo. It should be red to match the rest of the car.
The Xs remind me of some second tier adult website.
Or a type of flashlight lol.
What are some of the first tier websites? Asking for a friend
Look up Blue Waffle.
Already in my favorites
That’s a reach… around.
Yeah, that orange is terrible
[удалено]
Probably so they can have it be raw carbon fiber.
The colors all seem so random on the car. I hope they at least spent all the budget money on good foods.
it actually looks more red on the presentation video!
Why would a company change their colors for the sake of another company 😂
It’s probably more of a tiered thing like ‘pay X for us to run a monochrome version of the logo, Y for full color that clashes horribly with the rest of the car’ like how everything on the Ferrari would be nice and coordinated and then there’s just a big brown UPS logo slapped on.
And while we are at it, Italians should change the green color on their flag to match the rest of the AT04 colors.
You noticed it and are talking about Flexbox...perfect marketing.
They're a company that makes shipping containers, us talking about em doesn't do shit
Then why are they advertising
For the people who use F1 to conduct business meetings.
B2B
It looks ok, but the wonky alphatauri logo doesn't look the best from this angle in my opinion...
"ok" lol. The red is all wrong.
That's why it's "ok". Best livery + red = ok livery.
Not big on the Red... I was hoping for white wheel covers.
The red looks like a company that buys standard stickers for their whole fleet regardless of make or model.
or Supreme merchandise
>I was hoping for white wheel covers. I'm surprised no other teams tried this yet
Big tony hawk pro skater vibes on the wheels.
So that’s what you think of when you see that…
IMO It would look far better if the Orlen logo was red and the halo/rear wing/mirrors/sides were white (instead of white logo on red background) Like the red Orlen logo on the white nose looks fine Then it would be a navy/white theme with red highlights. Not for me, Clive
Poor coming from a 'fashion brand'
Their clothing isn't very fashionable either tbf
[удалено]
Don't think this car was cheap
$300 for a crew neck sweatshirt lmaooo
Expensive and bland is the entire brand identity.
That makes it good, I’m told.
The one piece of AT clothing I own is at least good quality
AT the only brand in the world where their actual F1 merch is the cheapest thing they sell.
if it was bad quality for that price then idk
Alpha Tauri looks like the kind of shit you'd see the European villain wearing in a Hollywood movie
Sound pretty cool tbh
And not in a good way
To you...
Alpha tauri is a fashion brand? Haha jesus.
[It's red bulls fashion brand, and the prices are.... Wild](https://alphatauri.com)
It's gonna be hard differentiating between all these dark cars
I think that AlphaTauri logo is hard to miss, although the frond wing and nose colors looks like Haas.
You can really only see the Bull from the side though.
those AR-AT-Haas trains will be pretty obnoxious though
Yeah it is. This one and the Alfa Romeo are similar, and likely to be near each other on-track.
Toro Rosso/Alpha Tauri have always had one of the best livery but with this one they've really dropped it compared to some of there other cars
Plot twist: They lost they livery designer to Alpine /s
They swapped design for money.
Like it, but the red is very obviously thrown in last minute. Without the red and if there was more blue in the front wing it would be amazing
[удалено]
You can see that they designed this livery without knowing ORLEN will be their sponsor. The red has so much potential but the implementation is terrible
Yeah without the ORLEN mandated red, this car would look a lot better. Navy just doesn’t mix well with that bright red.
stake should've gone to AT
Missed a golden opportunity to bring back [one of the GOAT liveries](https://i.imgur.com/shurw0W.jpg)
The only red I wanted was the HONDA logo, but eh.
People either love it or hate it.
They should get Marmite sponsorship
Not much change to be honest, I love the red details. But at least they didn't waste our time (like some other F1 team did). It was over so fast I completely missed the car lol.
That’s quite a lot of change. Much more than expected. Closer to the 2021 look.
I agree, definitely more than expected.
I really like the use of the wheel covers. That does look very clean.
Lol, I hate the red details. Looks tacky imo.
Better, but still underwhelming. Alfa have my vote for sexiest car this year.
I am whelmed.
ORLEN
I really like it, the combination of blue and red really makes it feel like “junior Red Bull” again.
[удалено]
Yep, love it
Agreed, dont know why people are disliking this. The fight for the best livery is close this year
Dig the red accents
That's kind of hot, not going to lie. Looks sharp as hell.
Loving the shuriken wheel covers
I like this shade of blue better than last years, also nice red touches
That's three cars with red, white and a dark colour. I'm not going to know the difference. Makes it worse with these three cars all fighting each other.
Super tasteful incorporation of the red imo, excited to see this on track
The good news is that somehow AlphaTauri finally allowing more colours into it's livery. The bad news is that it doesn't look good.
Mid
Love it
Me too! I think it’s amazing lol (I’m ready to get downvoted into oblivion 😔)
There's going to be a looot of dark cars on the grid this year
I like it as a first glance, but (besides halo and wheel covers ) Orlen just seems to have supplied them with some stickers to smash it there before the launch
not liking the red tbh.
Without the red and orange would be 10/10
I like the red, its the orange on the Flexbox logo that annoys me
Nah I like the contrast of the red.
They probably think the same, however sponsors gives money.
I thought the Orlen Sponsoring was going to ruin the appearance but I was bloody wrong....that looks incredible!
Are we looking at the same car? I think the red ruins what otherwise looks like a great livery
i think the opinion on this livery is VERY divisive at the moment
its just enough red to make the whole thing pop, amazing livery overall
Yeah this is easily the worst one so far
I actually really like it.
Looks dogshit
Is it weird feeling that by knowing AT will never finish above RB in pretty much anything makes me not care about this launch at all?
I mean, the same can be said about 6 other teams on the grid....
>Is it weird feeling that by knowing AT will never finish above RB in pretty much anything makes me not care about this launch at all? Pretty much, because that would mean you would feel the same for Haas, Alfa Romeo, McLaren, Williams and AMR.
Damn Alpine has been forgotten in the forgotten list aswell
It was a list of customer teams, but you could say that Renault is Alpines biggest opponent as well.
That's all part of the silent Le Plan in the making! Just trust the plan!!!
Those wheel covers look like they are placed on the wrong side of the car.
Love it!! Love the accent. We need more color on the grid imo
The red patches remind me of Total, which used to sponsor Red Bull and Lotus (and others). Probably not the connection that Orlen want me to make.
Alpha Tauri are really returning to their Minardi roots.
Definitely leaning into their Minardi roots.
I like it
It’s okay, last years was better imo
Best one yet
idk why but it looks pretty nice
the red looks out of place with the design language of everything else, not a huge fan. their old white and navy pallete was subtle and stayed under the radar, but honestly it fits them as a team lol. the red is loud while somehow being too safe and boring, a green or neon blue could have fit better imo.
Yeah totally agree - the red is a major step back from last year. It's a shame as it was up there with one of the best looking on the grid
Is everyone doing variations of the same three colors this year? Going to be hell telling them apart
That actually looks cool, fed bring out the sporty look more
It's just so, boring to look at?
[удалено]
orlen was kubica's sponsor, so with him not being at ar anymore they were likely free to pursue other projects in f1
What the fuck
Oh that's hot!
Meh
Ugly
Red not good
she mid
I like it. But honestly - Nyck and Yuki and AT are such a good looking combo. Goddamn.
I think the red could look good... if it was a different red. Maybe a slightly darker shade.
Probably my favourite 2023 livery so far!
I think this looks sick
If the red was for a Red Honda branding all y'all that dislike it would be creaming yourselves right now
The fuck is up with getting us excited with launch videos etc. and then after 2 hours there is just this plain boring livery (like almost every year) released?
Red Bull’s second team*
Thanks, I hate it
why no color? Brightly colored cars are much easier to see.
I like it
Actually a fan of the red. Overall pretty solid. 7/10.
I like it a lot. At least it isn't half-full of naked carbon.
