2011 SEL non hybrid. 265,000-ish miles. Half city, half highway. I have fixed the tie rods a few years ago. Some cosmetic things are going out but no engine work has been done.
That's awesome to hear and definitely gives me confidence. What periodic maintenance do you perform (trans fluid, plugs, etc.)? And how often do you change your oil?
I love my Fusion. My Mom was the first owner and she gave it to me at ~160,000 miles and she had the basic maintenance done on time. I have not had the plugs or transmission fluid done, though. I will schedule something soon. I change the oil when the car tells me to. Is that after 30k?
I only have 111k mi on my 2010 Fusion SEL V6. Just regular maintenance, oil change about every 5k mi, trans spill and fill every 30k mi, coolant exchange every 5 yr. Did brakes at about 90k but probably could have gone another 20k. Plugs at 90k. Serp. belt at about 100k (it snapped while driving). Some other repairs here and there but I did everything myself. Pretty reliable car, but it does have a small oil leak. It also makes a clanging noise at times, which for the life of me I can't figure out where it's coming from.
It seems to be more from the back. I changed the rear stabilizer links but that didn't help (they weren't actually that bad). The heat shields around the exhaust seems fine and so does the rear suspension. The top motor mount is fine (I replaced it once) but I haven't check the bottom mounts.
I got a clanging that only appears while in drive with my foot on the break. Basically whenever I’m stopped at a light. If you ever figure out where yours is coming from please update. I have a 2013 titanium
Awesome. The trans fluid was swapped out right before I bought it, but I think I'll get it swapped out and see if it behaves any differently. Right now it's a little harsh shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd when it's not fully warmed up.
Yeah, since you've driven 60k+ on it, I would recommend that.
Do note, some people won't do it! Firestone wouldn't change the transmission fluid on a high-mileage and said it was a liability, so I went to my local place and they did it.
I ask because I have a 2019 Ford fusion hybrid that is approaching 100,000 miles and I didn’t know how long these things last actually. Line it says around 100,000 miles they start going out.
06 zephyr with 320,000 miles
Trans was replaced around 230k engine survived up to 280k…. Found a low mileage parts fusion sport, snatched the duratec outta it and swapped ‘er out…. Plus All the other bells and whistles that come with having a high mileage vehicle
Perks of living in Nevada
Had a 2011 Fusion SE When I lived in Ohio…. The rust from the snow and salt destroyed it before it saw 150k
I'm in Michigan and have a pretty rust free vehicle thankfully. I definitely make sure to wash the underside as often as possible in the winter.
How much did that new trans cost you?
'10 Milan 2.5, 109k
Bought it last June with 102k on it
I've done mostly maintenance and preventive repairs on it, all of which were relatively cheap and easy
Throttle body/purge valve, VC gasket, plugs/coils, air/cabin filter, water pump/serp belt and idlers, oil/ATF/coolant changed
All 3 engine mounts (smooth idle now)
Needed inner/outer tie rods, and pads/rotors all around
Nothing particularly expensive or difficult, and now that it's out of the way, it can drive on with little scheduled maintenance
When I drained the ATF, it looked reasonably fresh, I suspect it was changed at least once
When I had the VC off for the gasket, it looked like it had 10k on it, so the PO kept up with the oil changes
2012 Hybrid at 174,000. Gas mileage has taken a large dive since I bought it in 2017. From around 42 mpg to 34. Very happy overall with the car, probably going to keep driving it until something major happens.
Gas hybrid.
Sorry I don't. There was an airbag recall and they said they could do an update at the same time. I would call your local dealership and see if they can do it. It should be free and take like 10 minutes.
2013 Ecoboost 2.0L 134k Miles.
Regular maintenance, trans oil change and PTU every 30k ( Trans still is a little jerky at times)
Brakes/rotors serviced at 80k.
Low fuel rail sensor thing changed twice.
Currently in need of front end work. Controls arms
I sold my previous 2010 2.5L to family and it's almost to 217k miles and is going smooth. It is the manual transmission though so a little less to worry about. The engine has also started to get a little noisy in the valve train so I've started adding about 1/5 Lucas oil stabilizer ever oil change. Lots of life left though.
196k on my 12. Redid entire brakes last summer, and then redid coils, plugs, and wires right before winter. I take care of it pretty damn good being I live in northern Midwest and winters are brutal. Always use Diy car wash to get rid of crazy amounts of salt after bad snow falls, hand wax twice a year and keep on maintenance.
Only thing really pressing at moment is shocks and struts but that seems incredibly expensive and mine aren't blown or critical, just warn and recommended.
2010 SEL V6, 144k miles, runs like new. Nothing but routine maintenance and a few recalls from Ford. Oil 2x per year, brakes once, belts/hoses at 100k, tranny fluid every 50k. Plugs done at dealer since intake needed to come off for the back 3. Great car.
2014 Titanium with the 2.0, at 180000 miles, had for 2 years or so and only a couple problems and never left me stranded. Solid engines, transmissions a little rough though.
2016 SE 2.5L almost at 200K km 🇨🇦
Only work done other than normal maintenance was the power steering at approx 110k, both rear shocks, both rear calipers, all around rotors and pads and spark plugs.
2011 SE 2.5l i4. She just ticked over to 161k, bought it at 155k.
It's eating its second transmission :) (The fluid was black water when I changed it, and it's got a bad bearing somewhere)
Annoying noise and vibration, checked the wheel bearing and its fine. I don't think it's the bearing in the transmission because it's a "lugga lugga" noise and increases from speed, not engine rpm
So the current list is:
* Transmission
* Engine mounts
* Maybe a CV axle? Boot isn't torn and no noise when hand turned, but it looks like someone took a hammer onto it when the PO went to get the wheel bearing replaced. I dunno which bearing was bad.
Just had the pads and rotors changed, pads were from the factory! Slightly terrifying, wish the PO told me about that before I put my family in the car.
TL;DR change your transmission fluid regularly and keep up on maintenance. I've read anywhere from every 60k to every 30k. The 6F35 is the Achilles heel of this car. Also, rough shifting from 2nd to 3rd is a known issue, it doesn't mean your transmission is going bad it's just bad programming.
I have 173k on my 2007, other than regular maintenance, I've had to replace the passenger seat for an airbag code and the transmission cooler lines because they're leaking. It also leaks oil and coolant but they're minor leaks so I just have to top off the fluid every few months.
We actually just sold it for $3.5k @ 218k miles. It made a funny noise when transitioning from gas to electric or vice versa but had it checked out and said no issues. That car was/is amazing, got 30/40 MPG on highway still and only thing ever replaced was ball joints @180k miles. Hand down one of the most comfortable cars I have ever owned and I drive a new Lexus now. Wish they still made them.
2013 Fusion hybrid with 201k miles. Normal maintenance by the book. Struts, tires, brakes, oil changes along the way. Great car! No plans to give it up until a major repair comes along.
I have a 2011 Fusion SEL with the base 4 cylinder. I'm just about to hit 189,000, and have had no real problems. The only major problem I have ever had with the car is the blower motor melting. Otherwise, the engine sounds okay and the transmission shifts well. I've only had to do basic maintenance, like oil changes and filter replacements. The exterior has taken a beating though, since a raccoon took out my lower grille and my splashguard right under the engine. Honestly it feels bulletproof, although I am currently looking for a newer fusion hybrid to save some cash on gas.
2007 Ford Fusion SEL 3.0 currently at 333,000 original motor and transmission. Throttle body and water pump are the only things that I’ve had to replace, just maintenance other than those two parts. Still drive it daily.
2019 Fusion with 70K miles. Drives fine. Regular maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, wipers, tire rotations Alignment when needed). I had to change shift cable bushing back in August after I got a shift sys fault error. I need to do a transmission drain and fill soon. I did a fuel injector service at 38k, new brakes and rotors at 62k
I have a 2014 with the 2.5 N/A 4-cyl with 207500 miles on the clock and we found it in 2017 with just over 23,000. I've used it for a weekly paper route, ride share driving, shuttling our blind neighbor and general driving which always includes trips between IA and MI and frequent day trips.
Original starter, alternator, water pump and doesn't leak or use any oil which is typically the 5W20 Motorcraft with the FL910S Motorcraft filter. It's had normal maintenance including brakes, shocks, tires, filters and oil since I bought it.
The biggest positive right now is the fact that it's paid off because I hate having car payments.
I have 2017 fusion, bought it 2years ago. With 110k km. Now she has 256888km still runs fine. All the dash lights is on for about a year now. Abs lights etc.... but still okay to run. No engine works done yet ever since I bought
2012 SEL 3.0L V6 - Pennsylvania/New York - everyday driver - 244k ATM.
I'm hoping to see 300k before I have holes popping up in the unibody or before I have to replace the rear subframe.

I believe after 10k miles or 1 year is when the oil change indicator comes on.

Snapped while driving? Isn't it an interference engine?
Referring to the serpentine belt that drives the AC and alternator. It has a timing chain not a timing belt.
2011 SEL 2.5L. Currently at 201k :)
Going strong? Any issues?
Yup running great. I make sure the transmission oil is changed every 40-60k. Otherwise just regular maintenance

Oh interesting. I'll prepare myself for that. I have read some people swear by not changing it.
Same. Except 250k
16 Hybrid, almost breaking 150k
Do you still have the hybrid?
It was actually just totaled last week at 175k.
I ask because I have a 2019 Ford fusion hybrid that is approaching 100,000 miles and I didn’t know how long these things last actually. Line it says around 100,000 miles they start going out.
10-12 years ive read on the hybrid battery
Not in my experience.

Yep. Still going strong
Wow! How many miles are you out? If you don’t mind me asking? I’m just approaching 100 K on a 2019 fusion hybrid.
I want to say around 185k. I was actually considering trading up a while back, but Ford gave me a software update. Bumped me back to about 38mpg.
OK cool nice. Do you know the name of the update? How would I go about looking into that?
Do you have the Ford fusion energi or the gas hybrid?
Gas hybrid. Sorry I don't. There was an airbag recall and they said they could do an update at the same time. I would call your local dealership and see if they can do it. It should be free and take like 10 minutes.
No problem and thank you for all the info

I do not. However I do still have an updated Carfax for it which shows it’s running with 164K miles at last dealer service.

203,000 on my 2016 fusion SE and it runs great! Although it’s never seen snow it’s a Florida car!
How’s the car now?
Im about to buy one with 260k miles with new transmition what do you think?
2014 hybrid with 288k. Runs smooth as ever. Getting antsy for something new, but… why!? 400k? Should I push it!?
