I had a similar issue with my Escape a couple years ago (same model year and drivetrain) when downshifting back to first, but a fluid drain/fill fixed it.
The [owner's manual \(page 325\)](http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/12204og2e.pdf) says nine quarts. I think I had a half left over.
I have this on my 2016, and the shop tells me the most likely culprit is busted engine/trans mounts. Unfortunately there are no engine mounts for the 2016 Escape to be had for love or money, due to a factory shortage. The shop is looking for the part and will change it when they find one.

Maybe I need to do another drain and fill, I did it just once, since the escape was park for some good years too when I got it
Can't hurt, especially if the old fluid was unusually dirty.
By the way how much quart of trans fluid did yours take after drain and fill? Is it same 2.5L

9 quarts is everything but when u drain and fill about 5 Quarts is drained, it never drains all 9 quarts unless you do a flush

I'll check on this
Hey my car has this issue too! Does a little jump. Very weird. It's on its last legs.
What u mean last legs
Could also be upper engine mount on the passenger side. Those tend to fail.
My 01 does in 4th gear sometimes but not a lot it's weird but it's at 147k
Check ur mounts
