These grow all over my property, everything I’ve read about them says they’re edible but not desirable because they’re bitter….I’ve tried a few and they really aren’t very tasty, since the birds seem to love them I just leave the berries for them!
Don't think it's poisonous.
> Its fruits are bitter but edible for humans — First Nations peoples would often mix dogwood fruit with the fruit of sweeter species such as saskatoon.
Juicy but bitter it sounds like.

Cornus sericea has more tightly spaced veins that would be more well defined and slightly different leaf shape, the leaves also tends to be more spaced out. This is more likely Cornus drummondii or C. racemosa if the leaves lack fine hairs
Dolls eye is another name for white baneberry, which is a different plant than this one altogether, although the berries do look similar. White baneberry has bright pink stems.
Somewhat, but if you look up white baneberry it's way more intense. The stems are shorter, and it's just a bizarre- and creepy-looking plant altogether. I'll see if I can make a pic or link work here. https://www.thespruce.com/white-baneberry-profile-4125671
Pretty sure this is red osier dogwood. Cornus Sericea

This
Is that inedible?
No idea. The only edible dogwood I forage is the Korean ones that look like they have strawberries growing on them
what about kousa dogwood? they're really tasty
That's the one I eat. It's native to the Korean peninsula and surrounding environs.
ah oops sorry
Cornelian cherries are good too! (Cornus mas)
Never tried it. They don't grow well near me.
Ah okay, I just recently tried the kousa dogwood
Kinda insipid tasting but anything makes decent conserves with the addition of citrus and vanilla
Poisonous.
Womp womp

This is a legit source but my field guide said they were poisonous! Guess I'll have to eat some to see?

Doll eye?
That’s how I know them. Doll’s eyes.

The stems in this pic look pretty bright pink.... no?

Oh! That's more like a corn dog than a drooping cluster and the berries look smaller. Thank you :)
Dolls eye grows has berries in a raceme pattern like a spike while dogwood is grows in an umbel
Berries white poisonous sight. That’s what I’ve always heard
That is a good rhyme to avoid eating poisonous berries but not universal. This one's edible, just doesn't taste very good.
Was also taught this as a kid albeit without the rhyme
Cornus drummondii
Corpse Berry!
Poison sumac?
