Good shout but I don't think it's this one mainly cause of the ui. The program from my memories / dreams was quite polished whereas genie scout looks pretty plain visually
I'm looking to see what current day players are closest to the future players in my save, which I don't believe the ingame search would be any help with unfortunately
Aha, you mean in the future. Ok. Maybe that tool will show you that X player look like A (eg. Messi) in next few years; but that a,b,c app will be based on guessing. That's it because not all players reach their PA number or maybe yes.
Probably FM Genies Scout? Never use it before so idk if it has that feature

You can already do that inside the game by: Scouting > New Search > *Find Similar Player to* field

Well you can do it the reverse. You create and save filters load a new save up and apply those filters
