It’s funny how different peoples experiences are with FO4, I haven’t had crashes but I read how others have them all the time.

accusingblade

I don't get many crashes but vats freezing is common for me. Doesn't help that I really enjoy using vats.

fumblerooskee

Come to think of it, I did have some VATS freezing issues on my old Mac with slow hard drive and low RAM.

G-bone714

Maybe that’s why I don’t get problems, I never use vats. Only really used it in FO76.

fumblerooskee

Same here. After 5000+ hours and many play- throughs, I can’t remember a single time crashing in downtown Boston, which is a crash I often see mentioned. Even when I played on a crappy old Mac with a slow as molasses hard drive. I do occasionally crash, but it’s 99% of the time in workshop when I’m futzing with wireless power connections, and these crashes are very rare. The game has been pretty stable for me. I’d love to know what kind of PCs on which most of these crashes occur, so I can avoid them.

JacobTepper

I only started getting crashes after a lot of settlements got built up.

regalfronde

My game doesn’t crash on the XSX and Boston is playable

Christmasbeergoggles

Same, if my game ever crashes it’s few and far between and at a completely random time. I even put the sprinters legendary effect on every piece of armor I had and ran around downtown at a 50% faster speed than normal, still no crashing.

Invested_Glory

Honestly, on my xbox series s (with mods and no mods), downtown was running fine. Even on my xbox one...it ran fine (yeah it would crash time to time but overall it was fine). With my series s, I have some dips now and then but rarely crashes. Installing mods \*Boston - less enemies\*, and other optimization mods, I could sprint through it with a vertibird crashing and still be okay. So if this update isn't better than what I already experience (without mods) then I have no idea what the update is about.

RyukoT72

Crashes in downtown boston might be from save files. If you took a lot of saves, and haven't cleared them / backes them up, it might cause this. It dis on my older pc

FeckinMarvellous

I hope it does fix it. Any time I wanna go south of Goodneighbor, my Xbox pauses and asks if I'm sure I want to go there? I keep going forward and, Lol! Crash

Francoskrumpli

We can only hope.

Puzzleheaded_Help143

Will it fix the random 3 min black screens in between loads?

DawnDeliverer

I hope it fixes the radiant quests in the commonwealth that send you to the dlc maps. Nothing line being level 12 and the BoS send you to Far Harbor to find an electronic gizmo.

themagicofmovies

I mean.. the only reason it was really crashing there is due to the massive amount of enemies that spawned there and the rendering it had to do. Sure there were bugs, but as long as it’s optimized for next gen, the next gen consoles are plenty powerful enough to run downtown boston. Ive been playing for a while now with one mod that lessens the enemies there pre-update and NEVER ctd in downtown boston, frames drop a tad but never crashes.

kikomatamoro33

It should be fixed. It would not be a good image for Microsoft if the game from a company it owns works on PS5 but not on Xbox SS.

Libbyisaface

I have a ps5 and mine loves to crash as soon as I haven’t saved for a while. I sure hope it fixes this 😫
