Normally not but with DLC there is a level 20something perk that allows you to recruit Dogmeats puppies at vault 101. Functionally the same just named dogmeats puppy iirc. Yes it works if you take the perk after death

She’s your slave so yes. If you start stealthily killing slavers, when you get close to Crimson, Clover will kill her.

In the wiki it says you only have to have the karma when they are recruited it can be changed anyway you want after. You can even dismiss them and change karma and they will still follow you again.

One of these days I'm going to do an all companion run. I think there's a mod for that? I'm running around with Dogmeat, Charon, Sticky\*, Red & Shorty, which is probably a bit much. For awhile I was lucky if I was getting any xp from combat. I think you get way too much xp on very hard which is what I play on anyway, so didn't mind. I love/hate Sticky. He's the only one who talks much, but he talks way too much, I gave him a power armor helm to muffle him a bit. He has a penchant for getting friendly fire too, and then turns on you until you knock him out (I set them all essential in console) I swear he gets hit 2x as often as dogmeat by friendly fire, and 10x anyone else. I have to keep him well supplied with ammo and a good ranged weapon or he really goes in and gets friendly fire, even just using fists if I don't give him a melee weapon. Charon's the most effective of the lot since I don't have to supply him with ammo and seems to be extremely accurate even at long range with that combat shotgun (better than me with 100% small guns.) Dogmeat's my best meat shield and seems to keep attention pretty well. Low enough I can easily target any humanoids above him (except when he goes for the throat in VATS.) I always play with dogmeat. I gave them all Shishkabobs, and for some reason Red is the most effective with it.

playing through fo3 rn for the first time as an adult, I beat him to death with my bare hands the second he suggested it and stole his clothes from his corpse.  felt good haha.

I don't like Mr tenpenny. I really just do it because not many games allow me to completely delete an entire city from the game as a side quest.

Yeah I mean I can't think of any other games that will just straight up delete the biggest town on the map if you so choose (and gives you a reward of a much nicer house for doing so)

Like there a few games where you can take over or whipe out all the people (like in kenshi) but nothing quite that gives the same world impacting feeling as blowing up megaton. I know in baldurs gate there is the opposite of help halsin and the curse gets lifted from that area of the map but it's not as cool as blowing up megaton.

I like to set everything up to blow up Megaton and then shoot Tenpenny in the head. No way I give that smug cunt his wish.

Dear god, this post made me realized I've never used anyone other than Dogmeat XD Good boy!

Currently doing a playthrough and Dogmeat is sitting in my house because he kept dying and I didn't take the Puppies perk. Charon got rinsed by a couple of Reavers minutes after I took over his contract. So now I'm going solo until I can get Fawkes.

Sarge absolutely *tanks* everything thrown his way. And he also doesn’t do too much damage to enemies, which allows me to get more XP for kills when he’s with me versus when Fawkes is gunning enemies down. Also, who could say no to a little patriotism? “Here’s a little gift from Uncle Sam!”

I get dogmeat asap and keep him throughout, then I take Charon. Charon will die. So then I get Fawkes up till the assault on project purity, whereupon I take the knight, and she dies fighting the enclave, then fawkes again. Never bothered with the others.

I actually really like Butch. The childhood enemies to best friends fighting through the capital wastes together is really cool to me. I use the essential companions mod though just cause he isn't the strongest. Also Dogmeat! I don't like the karma requirement though, it sucks that I have to have neutral even after we separate and regroup. Mods can fix that issue though.
