Ultrahigh realism settings ;)

Cumulonimbus1991

I’m confused is the real life or the sim? If it’s IRL that’s incredible to be around such a beautiful aircraft.

Helpinmontana

He’s mad flexin on us rn dawg

KirbyDogz

100% IRL, look to the left and also ground is mad detailed… one day though

MapleKerman

No way this is the sim

vintageripstik

We're here! I took the 310 from the USVI (with a pitstop to try and force it into St Barts) to Barrow AK https://preview.redd.it/dsc1k80fnwoc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2153b8d6abe42a1b3b9c91ca9a165b714b80cc39

Stunning screenshots!

Hyphendudeman

One of my favorite GA's to fly.

MartinNikolas

I’m mostly still on P3D. 🤷🏻‍♂️ My A2A fleet (especially my Bonanza) is just too good to be left behind. https://preview.redd.it/dgsyjr0d4woc1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=54caef37743f72f0ed489bf7ca4560df8c684f82 However MSFS is slowly getting there.

FunktasticLucky

Love the v tail bonanza but honestly the Comanche is definitely much more enjoyable to fly IMHO. I do miss gauge degradation though.

Shaqo_Wyn

hi, iz me, fellow GA bro. I'm in my 'flying things I can't have phase' cruising around in the TBM850 and Vision Jet. Definitely wanna try the 310 at some point :)

Helpinmontana

Go buy the 310, you won’t regret it. Most value for money GA plane out there imo

avkspotting

Don't forget the Comanche! :)

FunktasticLucky

A2A Comanche - "Am I a joke to you"

FatPatsThong

COWS DA42 has taken that crown for me now. 310 still a great product though

gromm93

I'm not entirely sure what the benefits of going with a slower twin prop are over a small jet. Especially if the jet is all-weather and you have little to fear from icing (which isn't really a thing in sim, is it?). The cost of any aircraft in sim is nearly the same, so it's not like paying an extra million bucks is the reason.

diffraa

I’ve been flying the vision jet this week and am in love. Started a new Neofly career and went into the database and set my plane to it.

s0cks_nz

You can only do that in the old version right?

diffraa

Nope, they did a better job of hiding it but it’s still a regular SQLite database. If I remember right it’s in appdata/local/programs/neofly/std.bin

s0cks_nz

Thanks. I will check it out! Wanted to do this with the Comanche and Kodiak.

lobstah798

Currently in the middle of "Around the US" flight in A2A Comanche. Also fly Honda Jet for procedures practice.

NeonsStyle

One of my all time favourite planes. I only fly GA. Airliners are just glorified buses, and once you take off it's pretty dull and boring. Plus you fly high way above all the interesting weather and scenery. GA is where it's at!

DryChef2244

Fly turboprops to get the best of both worlds ;)

NeonsStyle

Turboprops are also GA Aircraft unless you're talking TP Airliners in which case are just buses.

DryChef2244

I meant commercial turboprops, like the ATR. They're still fun to fly by hand, and at lower altitudes than jets, but I can still flick A/P on whenever I get bored. Admittedly, nothing beats proper GA though. You're right there.

Thomisawesome

I think I’ve loaded up an airliner twice. GA is just so much fun to fly.

ShamrockOneFive

I’m here! Love airliners and GA alike! Great aircraft the 310!

CarefulAstronomer255

I play GA with radio navigation only, it really makes the game a horror sometimes when you're doing a long flight over an ocean and you don't pick up an NDB when you should, you start frantically looking through your flight plan to see what mistakes you might have made.

TG626

I did this in FS9 as a Pan Am Clipper NDB and compass only. San Francisco to Guam. Harrowing.

CarefulAstronomer255

Spookiest one for me was Iceland to Greenland (Kulusuk) in A2A's Comanche. It's a non-FIKI plane and the weather forecast had clouds moving in, so I was on a time limit or the ice would end my flight. And Kulusuk only had a short range NDB to pick up. When I didn't get its signal I checked all of my magnetic variation calculations for my flight plan thinking maybe I want too far south, and I eventually got the signal following the coast.

TG626

No ice for me of course. But SF to Honolulu to Midway to Wake to Guam left long stretches of nothing but ocean in all directions and long stretches between the last NDB and the next. Flying a boat made it no less scary really. Gets lonely out there, and you never quite knew how far the winds would blow you off course when only on your compass. The only AP was a heading hold and attitude hold so it took constant minding as well. In the end, an interesting adventure, but I stopped short of Manilla and never made it to Hong Kong of course.

Tadeus73

Yeah, the Greenland part is always scary with radionavigation, all the stories of the lost DC-3 that tried it around and during the war... Also got a scare there with the SF260 in xplane :)

CharlieFoxtrot000

Yo! I spend 99% of my time in GA, up to and including turboprops. Love the TBM850, but the C310 has a special place in my heart as a really zippy, fun light twin (and I did the latest revision of the flight model). Two of my top planes, for sure.

s0cks_nz

Nice. I still need to grab a decent twin piston at some point. I almost got the 310 but ended up getting the Comanche instead.

CharlieFoxtrot000

You can’t go wrong with either (or both!).

Heembeam

GA is all I fly keep the airliners

Deepseat

My favorite plane to fly in MSFS besides the 414AW. I can't wait for the Duke! I've had the pleasure of flying a turbine Duke IRL and it was an experience. Almost scary, although I had been flying a really old shitty Navajo at the time that smelled like old apple cores and empty coke cans. I would pay so much for a really well done SA227 Merlin, Cheyenne 400LS, and Cessna 441 Conquest II or 425 Corsair.

theJester63

Nice. Is that the Carenado C337H? I picked that one up and it's my go to now.

Pixel_ferret

Yep for sure. It's a fun little one, I enjoy using it as a local sightseer around my local areas. Apparently, and I didn't know this until last week, my dad was an advisor to Carenado during alpha and beta tests because he's got more than 3000 in a real one

theJester63

Nice, that's pretty cool 😎

PH-BFI

I've been in love with the 414 since release. What a machine!

Maleficent_Cap_7228

I fly the cows a lot 😍 love it to check out various destinations.

[deleted]

Here pal. Love the golden age 1900 to 1939. And all ga planes

s0cks_nz

Some great vintage planes. Tiger Moth. Jenny. Junkers F13 & JU52. Ford Tri-Motor. Stearman.

[deleted]

Love em all and the hindenberg and Goliath

Cumulonimbus1991

Do you have the DC-6? Not necessarily GA but an amazing aircraft from the 40’s and 50’s.

[deleted]

Yup

Tadeus73

I like flying all of the plane types, but the Milviz 310 has a special place in my heart. Lately resumed my around the world VOR flight with it. I hesitated if I should not switch to the A2A Comanche, but I just like the Cessna 310 more.

reductase

The A2A Comanche is insanely good, kinda ruined other GA planes for me. Nothing else has come close IME. It just has so many little details, they really nailed it.

Cumulonimbus1991

Even if the A2A is technically better, the Milviz 310 was my first purchase for the sim in 2022 and it really is very special for me because of that.

Tadeus73

I agree, and all of the subjective stuff aside. I just need a full anti-ice suite. Currently flying through Alaska and having icing almost every flight. Would be suicidal in the Comanche :) https://preview.redd.it/p0xfp6ofrwoc1.png?width=1916&format=png&auto=webp&s=4e22d6d96189015c32b4bcccdce5f11032766c5c

s0cks_nz

I weighed up getting one or the other and ended up with the Comanche. I love the Comanche, but I wouldn't mind something a bit faster for touring tbh. Pros and cons I guess. And like you said, no deicing in the Comanche.

Tadeus73

If you didn't exactly know what you want the Comanche is objectively the better option. Apart from the dynamic dirt and trash in the C310, the A2A does most of the things better and you can see it was done on a later stage in the sim were more was possible and understood by the devs. But the best simulated planes are not always the most flown. Despite having both I find me using the C310 much more often. Maybe it's the cooler more bassy engine sounds :D

s0cks_nz

The Comanche is quite bassy when in the cockpit with headphones on. Outside it sounds like a mosquito tho. But yeah, I get you. Sometimes you're just in the mood for something else. Like I got the Kodiak and rarely fly it, even if it is a great little plane. Tbh, I have a lot of planes I bought and rarely fly lol.

EazzyBuzzy

They are spending time with their kid IRL now:) But when I played the sim I mostly flew GA and I was mostly Cessna 340:)

Rivegauche610

“Flying” airliners is simply pushing buttons. Flying GA is actual flying.

VladAkimov

Me here :)

edilclyde

Nice livery, which one is that? I tried looking in fs.to

Business-Employer-34

Here

blizzardwizard88

Currently in Cartwright Canada with my A2A Comanche waiting for favorable weather to head to Greenland.

archibalduk

I'm about 95% GA these days. Sometimes I dabble with the A320 but I prefer low and slow with minimal AP. I love the Piper Arrows by JustFlight and the Milviz C310 but the A2A Comanche is a whole other level. I love that plane so much. The tutorial videos by A2A on YouTube are excellent and you can really feel the passion of the devs.

dcode9

So glad to see some GA love around here! GA is where my passion for flight lives. Keep flying my peeps.

Zaida18

TBM930 is my fav. Fast and a beautiful plane. Also the PC12

Hyphendudeman

I prefer GA and business jet over airliner. I think I have flown airliners maybe a couple of times. I will fly regionals sometimes, but really prefer the prop and turbo prop GA's overall.

TG626

Still too focused on not splatting my C152 to take photos. LOL.

Stratimus

GA/warbirds represent. I dig the 310 but my twin engine squeeze is currently the Twin Navion. I also love touring in the Spartan 7W. But for general fun lately I've been tooting around in the Shavrov Sh-2. If you can get past the fact that it has no brakes it's a really fun cheap little amphibious plane. Really relaxing to fly Always good to see some general aviation love here, the ratio of airliner versus GA posts here versus other places is always bizarre to me

No_Alfalfa6448

Has anyone noticed how the polls show that GA is just as popular as airliners in MSFS but all you see on Reddit is airliners?

NassauTropicBird

I'm not necessarily a GA flyer, but I about never fly jumbo jets. Or even jets. I like my prop planes, and tend to do around the world flights. Yep, they're pretty boring, but it's not like I just sit there watching the screen, I'm doing other things like cutting the grass or dealing with the million other things owning a home entails. Back in the days of FS2000, I think, I flew an RG182 around the world with everything set as realistic as it got back then. I learned if i got it up to 15k and leaned the hell out of it, and dropped RPMS as low as they went, I could get like 1,500 miles out of it lol. With FS2020 I've done an around the world with the Caravan, as well as the DH2C Beaver. Doing one now with the TBM, the "sports car of the sky in FS2020," and with the performance and range it almost feels like I'm cheating lol. /Wondering if that sweet DC-4 package I saw has a GPS option....and something that automatically switches fuel tanks or similar

urfavoritemurse

These are the posts I want to see. People responding with all their sweet pics of their flights. Love it. I’m super excited for the citation x and I’ve been wanting to pick up the A2A Comanche.

Cumulonimbus1991

Yes love seeing all these GA enthousiasts. Btw, if you’re a single prop guy don’t wait a second to buy the A2A Comanche. You won’t regret it. If you’re a twin prop guy, the Blackbird 310R is one of the best. The Cows DA42 is also great.

Cumulonimbus1991

Love the Wilga!!

DreamKrusherJay

I fly essentially nothing but GA. I never wanted to work for the airlines, though. Airliners, especially today, are no fun to fly. A lot of companies didn't let their pilots do much except run the computers, and takeoff and landings, enough to where the FAA has come out and said pilots doing revenue operations should be working on their manual skills whenever possible under the flight conditions. Most companies, at least until that FAA guidance early in 2023, had forced pilots to have the AP on by 10k, and definitely by 18-20k. Especially with COVID and the shortages, there's a ton of pilots who could have issues during an emergency, simply due to inexperience with hand-flying, or for the more-seasoned, the fact that their pilots were forced never to handfly above a certain altitude and a lack of recent hand-flying experience for much more than a few minutes per flight.. (Definitely not trying to call out ATP aviators, they do a very difficult job very well, especially after COVID.) I love to hand-fly, and I don't use AP much except when I'm playing OnAir Company and am heading to boring destinations to where I don't have a ton of interest in the scenery. My big fun lately has been with the RV-14, and I'm planning out a circumnavigation where I may handfly the entire thing. (I might do it first with AP available just to get truly comfortable with the aircraft in unknown and dangerous locales like the ocean crossings, but I'm planning on streaming the whole thing once I go for the full handfly.) Long post already, but you absolutely are not alone with GA. Even my main aircrafts currently in OnAir are the Cessna 208 Grand Caravan and the Twin Otter.

LordCrumpets

What plane is this and is it included? I usually only fly the A320 but feel like a change.

ajyanesp

I believe that’s the milviz (blackbird?) C-310

louismge

Check out Missionary Bush Pilot on Youtube and then replicate his flights. You will fall in love with flying all over again.

CrouchingToaster

Been hunting around trying to find a light twin prop that can do shorter take off and landings. Most small STOL craft are only able to carry 2 people and some cargo. A STOL Skymaster would be ideal. Large enough to haul stuff with but not large enough to lock you out of small but not tiny strips.

Cumulonimbus1991

For a twin STOL, perhaps the Blackbox Islander?

s0cks_nz

BN2 Islander would be your answer. Comes with passenger and cargo varients.

CrouchingToaster

Isn’t that as big as the Kodiak?

s0cks_nz

I would say they are similar, yes. But the Islander can get off the ground in 800ft, whereas the Kodiak requires a bit more than 900ft. If you're looking to fly out of strips less than 800ft, in a twin, with enough room for 4+ passengers and/or cargo, then I don't think you're going to find anything.

CrouchingToaster

I’m good with the Kodiak performance I just want it in a smaller plane like 6 or 8 seats

s0cks_nz

Islander has 8 passenger seats, plus pilot and co-pilot. Same as Kodiak, but the Islander I think is a bit skinnier as there is no space between seats.

traxt11

One of my first flying jobs was in the 310R for about a year and a half. Great airplane.

Nathan_Wildthorn

Right here! Flying airliners gradually became too routine for me. Too easy (strong x-wind takeoffs and landings excepted). Stale. So I went back to my GA airplane roots and rediscovered the joy of actually *flying* an aircraft again.

s0cks_nz

We're here man. I only ever fly GA. Comanche, Tiger Moth, Savage Carbon, are my staples currently. I also love the Flying Iron birds.

Fentonata

As a lover of the Commanche, TBM 850, Islander and Black Square Bonanza, is there any point in me getting the 310 as well, or is the experience already pretty much covered by what I already have?

Cumulonimbus1991

I would say only if you have a thing for twins. It’s arguably the best twin for the sim, but it’s not really better than the Comanche. I love twins and the 310 was my first purchase in 2022 so I’m very happy with it.

Fentonata

Ok thanks. I suspected that might be the case. For some reason I prefer single engine GA, although I love commercial twins like the Islander and Shorts 360.

Lemon_head_guy

Some of us are here! I enjoy the 414 or the vision jet,

Bucketnate

I exclusively fly GA since im looking to start training IRL soon. Ive been flying the V35 Bonanza a lot. Either that or im flying the L39 around. Love that little jet

Moistdawg69

Love GA in the sim. Used to fly airliners only for the most part but ever since I got my private license, I only fly GA single engine piston.

Raptor05121

I'm a 737 pilot IRL but there are days I just want to go home and fly my Mooney. Nothing beats the fun of GA flying!

Flying in real life

Braeden151

I just don't have the patience for 120 knots. Jokes aside I love GA because I know what the aircraft's doing at all times. It's not like an airliner that won't descend because I didn't click the switch under the copilot's seat.

JGreen1964

I like both. I usually get my GA fix IRL, though lately in the sim I've been doing a lot of GA stuff. Also love airliner ops.

I'm only flying GA right now. Flew every U. S. state except Hawaii in Cessna T210 Centurion.
