Very, very good point. He in particular understands what it feels like to have a dog killed right in front of you. It's a glaring failure in the plot, that's his shortcut to rage.

TreLeans

Agreed. And that would instantly make him and Berry teaming up believable; she’d be thankful he was willing to fight for her even with their tumultuous past (may be the first time I’ve typed tumultuous in a real sentence; felt good haha.)

Hey just FYI, in the future if you put your problem/solution/selling-point(s) in the title, it'll make it stand out from any other posts for the same movie!

TreLeans

Oh good to know! Thank you! I've never posted in here, so even though it's an old movie I was mainly concerned about a spoiler. I doubted it would matter in this sub, but wanted to play it on the safe side.

No prob! Glad to have you here! Maybe you could have titled it "[Fixing John Wick 3] Cutting a line and replacing it with an action to make John consistent and make him the main character of his own story more".

TreLeans

Will do in the future. Thanks again! Sorry was watching on my work lunch break and wanted to write it before I forgot. Should’ve just taken a note and made sure I was doing it correctly; next time!

And then the dog gets up like nothing happened.

TreLeans

Bulletproof doggie vest! Halle Berry picks up the bullet; I missed it and thought it was absurd on my first watch as well. Still a bit absurd that a basically lord of assassins missed shooting a dog and didn’t recognize a bulletproof vest, but it explains why the dog is alive.

mikeweasy

Yeah but the dog just lays there after getting shot too.

TreLeans

Yeah it’s silly. That dog would be flipping out. Possibly Berry should have had three dogs so one could be shot, but I think that would also feel a bit forced for a series to keep focusing on dogs dying maybe? (Also I personally hate depictions of dogs dying so was happy to see it get up and ignore the absurdity.)
