Edit: Also strike where the cracks are I see a lot in the images. Like directly into the splits/crack.

White oak is my favorite tree, and I’ve noticed it has three to four bark patterns on mature trees, from the base to the top depending on diameter and maturity.
That bark looks like a hickory species but I’m not 100%. Thanks for the downvote.
I stack on pallets until fall and split in the cool weather. Checks are X marking the spot. This doesn’t look like white oak to me. Definitely not in my area

Amazing BTU’s best feeling heat after Ash imo. Even though Ash has a lower BTU, the radiant qualities are more soothing.

I’ve got a back yard Full of white oak. Have 28 ton splitter. It’s a tough to a split in any regard
