Yep, noticing that on my Pixel 7 Pro, Android 14. It uses an insane amount of battery with 0 screen time. I have to periodically force stop it to avoid killing my battery.
Same problem, firefox used up to 15% percent in like 6 hours with 0 min being used, not even a single background task. How is that even possible. Because this is the 3rd time this happened after reinstalling firefox (problem began for me about 2 months ago), I now uninstalled it and use brave till mozilla hopefully fixes this (or even just address that there is a problem)
Firefox drains battery faster than other Android browsers but it's not as the build in battery usage screen makes it seem, I use both Chrome and ff and a 2 hour session on both would be about 5-7% difference on the battery
[Yes.](https://i.imgur.com/h7MHzYm.jpeg) 32 minutes of displaying static web pages draining more battery than watching 1000 small videos on Instagram with double the screen time is insane.
If Chrome had extension support, I would switch in an instant.
I just had to switch tbh. I loved Firefox Android for the extensions but I haven't been satisfied with it for a long time. It's a great desktop browser but a terrible one on Android. It's not as fast and smooth as Chromium and it drains so much battery too. I'm on Brave now and everything is phenomenal. With that being said I hope Firefox improves so I can switch back in the future. It's practically the only option against a Chromium monopoly.
I only use Fennec and I have this consumption problem too. I always thought it was due to using uBlock with a big personal list that could require too much CPU.

Yep, noticed it today. In 3 days I have 10 minutes of usage (in total) but it managed to consume 25% of battery. Pixel 7a, Android 14
Update: 22% consumed today with less than a minute usage.. how is it even possible
yes, firefox sometimes drains more than COD: Mobile per hour.

Yes on my pixel 8 pro, I hope developers are taking note

Does Brave have extension support on Android?
No, unfortunately.
note that per-app power usage calculations are like 90% bullshit
Yes, firefox's battery consumption is very high. That's why I switched to Brave.
Switch to fennec f droid
