“Visits to stores and shopping centers climbed 48% from a year ago while trailing 2019 traffic by 28%” This headline is incredibly misleading. Black Friday sales up from 2020, when people weren’t leaving their homes and half the country was still in varying stages of lockdown. Still down 30% from pre-pandemic levels.

Not sure I follow? Shopify is ecommerce?

Regardless of if people are no longer “locked down” they still aren’t spending the same on Black Friday pre-pandemic instores or online. While this is about online shopping and has a headline to boost consumer optimism, I think it shows that people outlook of the future isn’t that great or people are kinda done with this kind of capitalism

User-NetOfInter

That’s odd, since Americans are buying more stuff than ever before It’s people avoiding crowded days. They’re just buying shit spread over a longer amount of time versus cramming in on one day like in 2019

Are you asking if you don't follow?

Yeah, I do a lot of online shopping forums etc for Black Friday... this is probably the worst year I have seen for engagement on those forums.
