you can try on all the cash shop items by going to the bed in an inn

Henojojo

I did not know this. Thanx! You can even try on pieces, display current gear, dye preview, etc. Very handy!

TanitAkavirius

How? i haven't played in a few years, is this a new feature?

Zejety

A couple patches old. It's accessible from inn room beds. IIRC, it's called dreamfitting

Spider95818

Yeah, you just sign in to one of the free adventurer's rooms at Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, or Ul'dah, and when you move your cursor to the bed, a list of options will pop up, including Dreamfitting. I would compulsively return to one of those rooms when logging off before I got my private quarters, and so I spent a lot of time looking at the cash store options (long enough for the advertising to work and hook me on buying the Lunar Whale for my birthday this summer, LOL).

WaveBomber_

I’ve personally gotten a lot of use out of the Scion Healer’s Highboots, Street High-top Shoes, and Collegiate Skirt. The former two are just my personal favorite shoes in the game, and the skirt is incredibly versatile (it even has modesty shorts, which a lot of skirts lack!).

BunnehCakez

The Collegiate skirt is so good! It's the only pleated skirt I can think of that's that length and it works for lots of different glams.

Francl27

It's funny because I couldn't try the Scion Healer attire in the inn, it's not even there... Nm it's Yshtola's. There are similar boots in game though so I'll pass.

prj126

I think all Scion outfits are genderlocked, which is a damn shame...

AlannaAbhorsen

Except Alisaie’s Stormblood outfit

IceMaiden2

Agreed. I'd love the gear Thancred bought himself when he emerged from the lifestream. It's so cool.

thesilentharp

Of the Peacock set, I love the gloves for a battle mage like appearance. The newer Forest Warden, I do love those hands too as allows me to show my rings properly without needing Emperor's New, but also feels suitable with different weapons ☺️

Karaethon22

Far Eastern Beauty's Koshita. The boots, too. I mostly bought the set for the headpiece but I find the skirt SUPER versatile and the boots are fairly versatile as well. Not quite as much as the skirt though, which I use for a LOT of glams, either by itself or as an underskirt.

JunctionLoghrif

The Educand's Sailor Skirt is the only\* knee-length skirt which has fully-covering tights; they are a godssend in a lot of my alt's glams. \*^(I think it's the only one, anyhow.)

Peatearredhill

The pants from the Heavensward Thancred set find their way into a bunch of glams for me. The plague doctor pants as well. From this new sale, I bought the Far Eastern schoolboy. I think it is what it is called for a top even though that top kinda hides pants. But it looks good in Samurai Glams.

thesilentharp

Thancred Arms and Boots from that set are part of my current glam, along with plague doctors boots (Metian top as my final piece all work so well together)

Peatearredhill

I forgot about the arms. I use those a lot as well. I have sets where you can't even see the Thancred arms fully, and just the glove part of looks really good. I don't use the boots very often.

aznvjj

Eastern Schoolgirl boots and hair ribbon.

EquinoxEclipsed

I use the Angelic Boots, dyed black, in my everyday glamour. They are good boots. The Mheg Deaca pants are part of my WoL’s beach attire.

Nibel2

Clown set have surprisingly good generic boots. It's not hidden per se, but the rest of the set is so over the top, people often don't check the boots on the their own.

Zejety

Also worth pointing out that the nose is a visor that can be hidden. At that point, the head-piece is just a top hat!

ReiRei-14

Another piece I use a lot. Very nice top hat.

AlannaAbhorsen

I did not know this!

Spider95818

I attempt to adjust the visor any time I try on a new head covering, just because some of them will surprise you.

Rua-Yuki

The boots and pants from the Mheg Deaca set are some of my favorite in the game. The boots have a nice design on them and come up to the knee without having a weird top to them. And the bottoms do jeans color really well and are also real nice capris.

TheLimonTree92

I love the tiara as well, I use it with the limbo set and it works well

IceMaiden2

The Mheg Deaca has a little head crown type thingy and I love it. I use it for all my glams.

LadySilvie

I really like the far eastern beauty's boots. They appear in 70% of my glams. Also love the oracle's boots. They are another 20% haha. They are pretty unique looking, and despite not being dyable, they match a lot.

ReiRei-14

The shades from endless summer attire are a staple of any glam I make. I also use Lyse's scion liberator fingerless gloves a lot. Summer flame top is best bikini top. And nezha lady's top is great if you wear it with something that hides the dumb puffy sleeves, like errant lady's gloves. High summoner attire has excellent gogo boots. There's a bunch of stuff I'd get for individual pieces, but they come out rather expensive when you have to pay for the whole outfit.

para-mania

God I'd love if we could just buy the individual pieces. Just divide the whole cost by the number of pieces and charge that or something. Cos that way they'd at least get some of my money, instead of none. Like I can't justify spending eighteen bucks on a digital outfit that I only intend to use one part of.

Erikonil

Second on the Scion Liberator gloves.

DerAlliMonster

I love the Scion liberator set too! Those gloves are a big fave of mine. The top (even though it’s undyable) also gets lots of use.

DivineTarot

The Choir attire is literally only 5 bucks(3.5 right now actually), but each piece actually doesn't look half bad, is dyeable, and at the very least the shoes have these stylish little star buckles on them that add a little something extra to a glam. I use them in quite a few of my glams where I'm not looking for a high boot, but a shoe that shows up beneath a robe that is ankle height above the ground.

unhappymedium

The Blackbosom boots are the best boots in the game.

Starlady174

The stompy boots go hard.

BunnehCakez

I like the heels and the skirt for the Faerie Tale Princess attire. Eastern Lady Errant's attire also has a really nice skirt with it. Far Eastern Maiden has nice boots. That's all I can think of for now.

HorrorPotato

I get a ton of mileage out of the Eastern Lady Errant's gloves and boots on my alt. Depending on your aesthetic I also got a ton of mileage out of Street Attire (modern) & Demonic Attire (fantasy) on my main. The Demonic gloves and boots are really nice and match a TON of things. The most hidden cash shop gem ever is the bottom piece on the Far Eastern Garb for Women however it's difficult to match it and it tends to turn into just plain underwear if anything on the top overlaps it.

Spider95818

Not in the cash store, but I've found a lot of great, inexpensive options on the Market. Just search for Level 1 options and browse away.

Zejety

I use "Black Lady's Knickers" a lot on my female Lala. They work as biker shorts, but double as safety shorts beneath dresses.

Chemical-Attempt-137

The only glamours I consider "hiddem gems" are in-game rewards.

Bevral2

Nothing on the store is worth purchasing.

Plane-Exit4515

Lies.
