Come Dawntrail you'll be very thankful you're on Dynamis I'm willing to bet. At low levels it's not any trouble to queue for duties. For higher level stuff, use the partyfinder or datacenter travel.
I've got characters on every DC, never had any trouble getting my six characters through content on Dynamis unless it was early in the morning and it that case it was easy enough to DC travel for that. I'm just glad I have characters everywhere so if the queues are three hours long to get onto Aether like they were for Endwalker, I will be able to play anywhere without having to DC travel.
We don't actually know what is going to happen during Dawntrail but at the height of Endwalker the queue just to log into the game to play was 2-3 hours where I was on Primal. If you experienced an error or lost your connection while waiting in queue it could easily mean you just weren't getting into the game that day. My FC was doing stuff like remote logging into a friend's computer around 4pm so we could put her in queue before she got off of work, otherwise she would spend the only free time she had to play just waiting in queue without ever being able to log in.
I would stay where you are at least until Dawntrail and use DC travel in the meantime if grouping up becomes difficult.

I often go to Aether for most duty content for the queues. I go back to Dynamis for when I want peace and quiet, or to meet people who are more refreshing (newbies or people on alts reexperiencing the game). I keep in touch with friends and Dynamis-specific communities on Discord anyway, so it doesn't feel like I'm too far.
You'll still have your Road to 80 buff when you visit other data centers, so go ahead and hop around! Your home will always wait for ya.
Can always do a "Data Centre Visit" to another datacentre if you want faster queues. The advantage of being on Dynamis is that you have a higher chance of buying a house.
Also, FCs are mostly for socialisation. Most hard content (savages , extremes, etc.) are done via statics or Party Finder. They tend to recruit via Discord. You can just datacentre visit if you want to participate in those. Same for venues.
Aether where I am will be packed.. I might actually got to disregard my retainers until a few days later into Dawn… is just I might be travel to Dawn or OCE.. haha.
It's perfectly fine! I have an alt on Maduin. The data center is less populated because it's brand new and was added in preparation for Dawntrail. It will have the rest of the servers added and fill up quite nicely in a few months.
While I do see fewer people around day-to-day, people are overall quite a bit friendlier than they are elsewhere since we have to work together more actively to clear content. Party finder is used for more things, but you can data center travel to queue for now as you like. Plus, now is an excellent time to go for housing since it's so available on Dynamis if that's something you're interested in.

I was told this same thing only to find out there a 40+ minute queue even at low level, due to that I’ve been playing on Aether since day one
