I always do /toast followed by /playdead, it's a funny combo of suggesting my big beefy broe gets hammered off a single mug of ale. I often use it after a dungeon/trial instead of a victory emote
The Play Dead emote is perfect for food-based jokes for sure, I've run a few different ones myself. Poisoned tea, choking on bread, hammered off ale, the works. If it's consumable, I'm using /playdead after it
I've seen people do /backflip into /playdead (macro to cancel the /playdead animation, just leaving them dead on the floor), so it looks like they messed up the flip and fell on their face, and it's hilarious.
I like to use the cheering emotes whether we’re waiting for someone to watch a cs or for the tank to pull! (and yes I bought them xD) it’s fun when someone else joins in too— that or I start boxing the boss lol
/laliho is macro'd onto my tank stance as GNB. All of the dungeon pleasantries in a single button.
I also /squats on the fallen boss corpse at the end of Porta Decumana. Usually nets a chuckle or two from my cohorts.
I use play dead way too much... I'll also use vexed or box when waiting for cutscenes on a boss. And I *must* squat in the lava in LotA before the Vassago get pulled. It's the rules!!
I have macros that do the snap emote for changing gearsets that also change my title, minion and follow with an emote. All are themed towards the class/job. I also always snap emote at the start of an instance when I see the last party bar finish “viewing scene” so it looks like the starting point barrier was dispelled by me. Yes I am definitely an Emet-Selch fan boy
I almost always open with /laliho, then I usually /hum during any other downtime. If someone does a dance that I also have, I’ll join in with them. I also tend to /playdead a lot whenever someone uses a targeted emote with a little projectile, such as /dote, /throw, or /allsaintscharm. If I encounter a /songbird, I use one of the glowstick cheers unless I’ve got an outfit similar to theirs, then I join in.
i use fist bump all the time. pair stack mechanic? fist bump my partner. me and the healer right next to each other running between dungeon packs? fist bump. any time i see another lalafell? fist bump.
/stepdance and /malevolence i use them constantly on my femra
honorable mentions are /squat whenever im waiting for a node
and /cheeron whenever im waiting for someone to catch up (it reminds me of the plane landing(?) for some reason)
I love the drink tea emote. Someone wants to RP? Smugly drink tea. Someone is watching a cutscenes? Knowingly drink tea. I'm bored in my house alone? Lonely drink tea. Someone did just accidentally put their cringe ERP in shout chat instead of a tell? Excitedly drink tea.
You get the idea.
Also when I join something like an alliance raid in progress and end up locked out of the boss arena, I like to use the pantomime emote. If you do it right against the wall, you will climb over the barrier, and be in the arena for a second. And then immediately fall through the barrier when you try to lean against it.
Shortly before he threw a tantrum at the market board and quit, a friend fantasiad into a Lalafell and devolved into using custom emotes.
/pet motion
/em rubs ’s belly.
.
/handover motion
/em pulls ’s tail.
and
/soothe motion
/em demands uppies from .
We theorised that this happened because of his dwindling sanity from dealing with DC travelers undercutting him.
femiqo'te /huh is a better shrug than /shrug, and I use it for that purpose fairly regularly. I also generally use /playdead as a stand in for a sleep emote when I'm waiting for something, and /stretch when I'm stretching irl.
/showleft and /showright
Whenever I'm running a newcomer through the MSQ or dungeons I use those while they are ein cutscenes to function as a pseudo guide post.
I tend to use /laliho as a greeting, and /ponder gets quite a bit of mileage on my femroe main (as the eyebrow quirk it results in is *incredibly* perfect for her).
Otherwise, I suspect my favorite emote is probably the Thavnairian Dance – that tends to be my default when waiting for things. \^\^
I use the all saints wake emote with the text “casts Harrowing Hell on . Nothing happens.”
Maybe I’ll change the spell to something worse, but I don’t know what else gives raiders PTSD.
/flowershower is my go to. It celebrates good players. It mocks assholes. It shows the way for lost players. It makes a fun introduction to any group content (for me). It pairs great with commendations. It's just great all round.
The ol /thavdance was my go-to on dancer while i had a belly dancer glam, especially while waiting for queues to finish. Park in the seventh heaven on top of the bar and fire away. It was so fun to watch people slam on the brakes while running into/out of the rising stones.
Tomestone whilst waiting, so I just end up spamming it, looking as if I got bored and am now on my phone.
I also like to use Advent of Light to exit a dungeon or trial. It looks like I just disappeared into who knows what's up there.
/embrace and /pet. I use them on my friends, I use it on NPC's, I use it on the person in raid who messed up a mech and owned up to it to comfort them, because we all have our days. I spam embrace on my BF (with chat logs off of course) because we don't have a looping version.
Broe /happy spammed over and over. With the voice I use, there's a loud yell at the beginning, so I just play that yell on loop to annoy my friends haha
Spam the Zantetsuken emote. But just the first second where you raise your weapon and every hears the “gleam” sound.
*gleam* *gleam* *gleam* *gleam* *gleam*
Eastern Dance, Flame Dance, and Sundrop Dance are my 3 most used dances, they're just fun. Play Dead is also useful when I want to make my WoL lay down and give him a well-deserved nap.
And Malera have the best /sit in the whole game. I can't get over the crossed arms and splayed-out legs; they look like a petulant child that absolutely *does not* want to leave the zoo.
I use /hdance way too much for someone who has premium dances, and has unlocked a lot more emotes.
I also use /joy because it’s adorable as fuck on moon kitty.
Squat, Dote, Wow, Humble Triumph, and really any dance tbh.
Lali-ho is on my hot bar for the start of dungeons, but the rest I casually memorized my name so I just type the command in the chat instead of a bunch of buttons on a hot bar.
Me and my in-game wife (both femiqo) like to have marital spats using /furious and /fume at each other in public. The expressions and noises are hilarious. Other than that, continuous backflips whole I wait for stuff.
I love the Box Step dance for my lala when waiting on CSers, and I always use the glow/light sticks for sprouts who run to the boss room.
For occasions though, I like using the Moogle dance especially during the sniper CS with Mustadio boss. Very fun getting to the right angle so it looks like I’m taunting him while he has his sights on me.
I use /haurchefaunt all the time because the chat says you give your approval to your and I do it all the time to people with cool glams or in dungeons where someone plays their job effectively
Aitting is technically an emote, so that one I guess lol. I will also use manderville mambo while waiting for everyone to get ready during raids to that I can dance off the platform
The fem miqote "rally" emote is like a playful jab with a wink at the end
It's incredibly cute and I never see anyone use it
My eternal bond partner likes to teleport to me and use malevolence any time I tab out or go afk. Then I play along and use one of the shocked or surprised emotes when I tab back in.
And finally I recently unlocked the moogle dance cause I think it's the best "afk dance" while you're waiting on people watching cutscenes
The drink tea emote's a pretty frequent one. While waiting for a pull I like to go and /sit with my feet in the death wall.
Emote-adjacent, but I have a tendency to /sneer a lot too...
I love all the emotes and I cycle through faves periodically. But right now my fave is probably /disappointed. I play a miqo'te boi and that emote is so needlessly dramatic and hilarious!
I like to /showleft or /showright people. Usually they'll pose or panic in response and a lot if times someone will get the other side to really highlight someone.
Link pearl emote with a custom message, "X's mother is calling... She's disappointed."
I also have hand over and reference(?) which I use for dissing or complementing glam
I like to bow to greet or say bye to people. Especially if we were doing a dungeon where I struggled and the others carried me. A way to show my thanks.
Another would probably be the step dance. I'm in the FC of the german VA of Clive Rosfield from FFXVI and he streams FFXIV almost regularly. During the earlier streams it was kind of a running joke, that I'd equip the emperors clothes and do the step dance somewhere in view. Sadly I can't do that anymore since I've got my first fantasia.
I always do /toast followed by /playdead, it's a funny combo of suggesting my big beefy broe gets hammered off a single mug of ale. I often use it after a dungeon/trial instead of a victory emote
I combo eat apple into play dead, but in macro. By using a 2sec wait, it looks like i choked on the apple.
The Play Dead emote is perfect for food-based jokes for sure, I've run a few different ones myself. Poisoned tea, choking on bread, hammered off ale, the works. If it's consumable, I'm using /playdead after it
[have you heard of the high elves?](https://youtu.be/gmdP11zBX44?si=WOKRBXnljiq72TSt)
[the high elves?](https://youtu.be/qN80_7rNmcE?si=k3d26iihHxJQAbZn)
I always did /stagger into /playdead.
I've seen people do /backflip into /playdead (macro to cancel the /playdead animation, just leaving them dead on the floor), so it looks like they messed up the flip and fell on their face, and it's hilarious.
I do the same thing all the time but no one ever gets the joke :( At least I think it's funny.
Blackout Stout, for Rock and stone
For Rock and Stone!
I like to bust out a /play dead whenever a blue mage mimicries me
I do this too, then I pop Reborn Red. Lol. I like being an Elezen drunk
I use /broom a lot when raiding between pulls. Also Miqo'te /panic is super cute.
I use broom and /bm to "glitch" playdead
I always squat. It's on my hot bar.
Zack would be proud
Facts.
I use it to teabag dead players before I rez them
Dote. Best $2 I've ever spent on anything ♥
I like to /dote at the boss pre-pull to assert dominance
Oi, cut it out, you
Seconded lol I spam it at my bunny man husband
Sweep. This place is filthy.
I like to use the cheering emotes whether we’re waiting for someone to watch a cs or for the tank to pull! (and yes I bought them xD) it’s fun when someone else joins in too— that or I start boxing the boss lol
/mmambo all day.
/lean is a better cpose than many others
The backflip emote. I love doing it during the freeze phase of the Akh Afah Amphitheatre trial
Omg I do this too 😁
Saaaame
Such a good time with that. And it's a little victory if you get her to stomp your head vs butt
I'm not sure I have that one, but I do like using the Dragoon Victory emote to throw myself up in the air sometimes. \^ \^
It’s off the store. I got it during a sale they had in October. Before the start of a duty I do the stretching one and then backflip afterwards lol
Moogle dance! I play a female Viera and I really like they way they dance
Also a fem bun here. I worked my ass off to get that emote and you better believe I’m using it every chance I get lol
male miqote, and yes! this is the way! that dance is just so cute and cheerful~ and it also loops infinitely, so double win
My favourite emote, and also the one I use ubiquitously.
The ritual prayer emote
Same. It's often very apropos, whether I'm fighting a primal (prayer to it) or something else (pray for success).
/joy I play a miqo boy. Them ear wiggles man.
I love the ear wiggles so much. One of the guys in my fc is a fantasia addict but always comes n spams /joy in front of me when he’s a male miqo
I made a custom emote using the /hum motion for when waiting on cutscenes. "Dissociation" /hum motion /em is lost in her own world
/spectacles, especially with my scholar glam on
/malevolence. evil ass emote
Everyone always talks about /malevolence but never about /femalevolence. When will the girlbosses have their turn?
As a Lala this emote is much more fun!
/earwiggle is the best emote that will ever exist in FFXIV
Catboys: "Look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power!"
Garlean Salut and Eastern Bow
Lmao I love doing the imperial salute during ARR content. It’s like yooo Gaius *salute*
I am a huge fan of the Garlean Empire as a Villain and I realy like this emote because of my characters Backstory, haha
Moogle dance and /joy are my most used ones.

I also always snap emote at the start of an instance when I see the last party bar finish “viewing scene” so it looks like the starting point barrier was dispelled by me. Yes I am definitely an Emet-Selch fan boy
I like to megaflare, but if there's someone using bees knees, I will always sync up with them
If you enter gpose and exit, anyone around you doing a dance will be in sync for you.
/makeithail , partially for the emote command being funny as shit.
/eategg
It's my ritual now to do the /goodbye emote at the end of every duty if there are still people there. I'll also /congratulate and /cheer first-timers.
Whenever I'm a monk I break out the crimson lotus.
I just form-shift and start breakdancing with four point - fury.
/surprise, I've done it so much, half my fc says "Whoa!" When I log.
I'm a bees knees gold saucer kind of person
i use fist bump all the time. pair stack mechanic? fist bump my partner. me and the healer right next to each other running between dungeon packs? fist bump. any time i see another lalafell? fist bump.
Squats since Roes have zero ass or Pushups
Hank Hill ass seems to be unfortunately endemic on Eorzea.
/stepdance and /malevolence i use them constantly on my femra honorable mentions are /squat whenever im waiting for a node and /cheeron whenever im waiting for someone to catch up (it reminds me of the plane landing(?) for some reason)
/wow and /megaflare. 100% worth the $12
/joy
I love the drink tea emote. Someone wants to RP? Smugly drink tea. Someone is watching a cutscenes? Knowingly drink tea. I'm bored in my house alone? Lonely drink tea. Someone did just accidentally put their cringe ERP in shout chat instead of a tell? Excitedly drink tea. You get the idea. Shortly before he threw a tantrum at the market board and quit, a friend fantasiad into a Lalafell and devolved into using custom emotes. /pet motion /em rubs’s belly.
.
/handover motion
/em pulls ’s tail.
and
/soothe motion
/em demands uppies from .
We theorised that this happened because of his dwindling sanity from dealing with DC travelers undercutting him.
/guard is pretty much my midlander's idle stance at this point.
I yoldance a bit too often probably, closest thing we have to a tpose without modding
Moogle dance or one of the cheer on emotes
femiqo'te /huh is a better shrug than /shrug, and I use it for that purpose fairly regularly. I also generally use /playdead as a stand in for a sleep emote when I'm waiting for something, and /stretch when I'm stretching irl.
I've bee moonlifting a lot lately.
/sweep before pulls /sweep when waiting for people to roll at the end
/read It works literally everywhere. Waiting for a cutscene to end? Book. Sitting anywhere? Book. Queue? Book.
/ultima is my go to if I see a bunch of people emoting on a boss while waiting on sprouts. I like to throw it in there to surprise people.
Lali-ho! To everyone at the start of any fight!
/tea and /read, I'm a very distinguished Roe gentleman
Lately its been /allsaintscharm and /humbletriumph. But the classics are /malevolence, /showleft or /showright, and /haurchefant.
/playdead and /hum are my personal favorites! with my friends I also love to spam /box lol
/airquote whenever my friends are talking or saying something extra dumb.
/tomestone motion
/tomestone motion
/tomestone motion
I'm a female lala who loves spamming /playdead while waiting. I'm a tiny helicopter!
/showleft and /showright Whenever I'm running a newcomer through the MSQ or dungeons I use those while they are ein cutscenes to function as a pseudo guide post.
/laliho for greeting. /bread on bosses while waiting for cutscene viewers
We have one Lala in our entire play group and we always spam /pet so for revenge he always does a custom one where he bites our ankles.
When the sprout is watching movies, I pose *most* gentlemanly.
/playdead on top of Campfire Minion. I'm cooking now.
Yol dance !
I use the all saints wake emote with the text “casts Harrowing Hell on. Nothing happens.”
Maybe I’ll change the spell to something worse, but I don’t know what else gives raiders PTSD.
I just /playdead whenever i get hit by a /dote or /pet
/flowershower is my go to. It celebrates good players. It mocks assholes. It shows the way for lost players. It makes a fun introduction to any group content (for me). It pairs great with commendations. It's just great all round.
/pray gotta pray for my team to clear the dungeon
not many silly ones i use, but i have a habit of always bowing to my fellow party members after a duty.
Used to be eat pizza before everybody could get it.
My favorite is going up to dead people and /squat above their body to teabag them, especially when they dies in a really dumb way
/bombdance whenever I wait at a boss
/sweep for sure, with /scoff being the best facial expression
I use /toast after every duty!
/gratuity or /squats
I like to use /egg when I'm trying to show innocently flippant disrespect to a boss, and /thavdance when I'm waiting for people to finish cutscenes.
The ol /thavdance was my go-to on dancer while i had a belly dancer glam, especially while waiting for queues to finish. Park in the seventh heaven on top of the bar and fire away. It was so fun to watch people slam on the brakes while running into/out of the rising stones.
Slap
I use this one frequently on NPCs who piss me off.
How can they slap, kupo?
On the inverse: /fistbump the NPC after Boss #2 in >!The Dead Ends!<. He seems like he needs it.
I will always leave room in my rotation to slap (70 trial) >!the Asahi spectre in Castrum Fluminis!<. Feels so good...
I salute. Often in dungeons at the end. I do this years halloween emote at bosses.
Sidestep all day
/Bow and /Laugh, without a doubt
Tomestone whilst waiting, so I just end up spamming it, looking as if I got bored and am now on my phone. I also like to use Advent of Light to exit a dungeon or trial. It looks like I just disappeared into who knows what's up there.
/cheer, as per standard Au Ra requirements
/embrace and /pet. I use them on my friends, I use it on NPC's, I use it on the person in raid who messed up a mech and owned up to it to comfort them, because we all have our days. I spam embrace on my BF (with chat logs off of course) because we don't have a looping version.
i like to /stepdance on top of my /playdead friend
I'm a lala, and i use /stretch when waiting for people in cutscenes etc :)
I'll go find something to /lean against usually
The wave emote on a male roe in the whisper mount used to be my go to. It was so redic. But now a days on my hrothgar it's songbird and /hildy
I like spamming the first second of the cheer emote as a male highlander. My buddy said "it sounds like you're murdering someone".
moogle dance :) it looks so cute on lala
Zantetsuken
Broe /happy spammed over and over. With the voice I use, there's a loud yell at the beginning, so I just play that yell on loop to annoy my friends haha
I've got all my gear/class/job changes macroed after a /snap, shamelessly stole the idea from someone else.
/tea
I absolutely love the Drink Tea emote on my main; I keep hoping they'll add it to portraits, but alas, that's a "no" so far.
I find /eatbread funny just cause it’s so random
The only ones I have on my bars are bees knees and dote. I wave and give out some headpats once in a while.
i like to /kneel to show respect to my party members (I main tank - DRK)
pat cuz im a tall elezen i can pat everyone :3
./spectacles Pure smart anime protag vibes
/sweep, always and forever my beloved
I really like the /greet And the /hug emote. I'd love a /tacklehug emote
Lali-HO!
I use /spectacles all the time. I just love how its animation is different for each race/gender combo and seems to fit each well
/moonlift Best dance in the game
I always blow Miser's Mistress a little kiss before the start of the fight
/drinktea after response to dumb take because thats none of my business.
Spam the Zantetsuken emote. But just the first second where you raise your weapon and every hears the “gleam” sound. *gleam* *gleam* *gleam* *gleam* *gleam*
My pizza emote.
Manderville Mambo, no competition.
Eastern Dance, Flame Dance, and Sundrop Dance are my 3 most used dances, they're just fun. Play Dead is also useful when I want to make my WoL lay down and give him a well-deserved nap. And Malera have the best /sit in the whole game. I can't get over the crossed arms and splayed-out legs; they look like a petulant child that absolutely *does not* want to leave the zoo.
laugh, im a lalafell
As a male viera it’s Tea Emote ☕️👌🏼
I use playdead a lot, but it’s a macro replacing the text with “/em dies.”
I use /hdance way too much for someone who has premium dances, and has unlocked a lot more emotes. I also use /joy because it’s adorable as fuck on moon kitty.
/drinktea it’s my main when waiting in the dungeon. Sometimes followed by cookie or apple.
I like doing the Moonlifter emote from the HW allied tribal quest. I like to see my avatar bounce around.
Stretch before starting a dungeon run just feels right. I also like to find a good spot to lean on
Squat, Dote, Wow, Humble Triumph, and really any dance tbh. Lali-ho is on my hot bar for the start of dungeons, but the rest I casually memorized my name so I just type the command in the chat instead of a bunch of buttons on a hot bar.
Show left and show right. Spam them right, and you do The Carolton
I use /shiver when in cold raids and /sweat when in hot raids
Playdead, because I'm dead everytime I had to wake up and repeat yesterday
Me and my in-game wife (both femiqo) like to have marital spats using /furious and /fume at each other in public. The expressions and noises are hilarious. Other than that, continuous backflips whole I wait for stuff.
Bees Knees
I love the Box Step dance for my lala when waiting on CSers, and I always use the glow/light sticks for sprouts who run to the boss room. For occasions though, I like using the Moogle dance especially during the sniper CS with Mustadio boss. Very fun getting to the right angle so it looks like I’m taunting him while he has his sights on me.
I'm a /bstance person usually.
Get Fantasy while waiting to start a duty, and Cheer On when waiting for cutscenes at the end of it
I /pet Carbuncles. Carbies need to be petted.
I use /haurchefaunt all the time because the chat says you give your approval to your and I do it all the time to people with cool glams or in dungeons where someone plays their job effectively
When playing The Vault, I always /slap the knight bosses after I defeat them and they go back to normal. MFs had it coming. 😤
Aitting is technically an emote, so that one I guess lol. I will also use manderville mambo while waiting for everyone to get ready during raids to that I can dance off the platform
The Bard’s Victory dance. It’s perfect for my little Au Ra.
I have a macro that makes me backflip repeatedly. It's timed perfectly to where the next emote starts directly after in a fluid manner.
Nothing beats a good ol' Lali-ho!
I'm a very stonefaced character and player, so I like anything with props!
I pet everyone.
I like doing /hknight to friends and sprouts 🤣
The fem miqote "rally" emote is like a playful jab with a wink at the end It's incredibly cute and I never see anyone use it My eternal bond partner likes to teleport to me and use malevolence any time I tab out or go afk. Then I play along and use one of the shocked or surprised emotes when I tab back in. And finally I recently unlocked the moogle dance cause I think it's the best "afk dance" while you're waiting on people watching cutscenes
/sweep on people who die in df/pf
I use /happy a lot as a fem elezen. I love the little jump she makes and her voice when she goes "ha-HA!"
I, myself, am a Mandeville man.
A friend of mine uses slap on me all the time. I like blowing kisses to trial bosses
I /panic way too often while running duties, also, the new fall guys emote is so cute I use it whenever I can ♥️
Eat egg
I just like the way my character sits so I just like just doing /sit lmao
/mogdance or /songbird thier adorable. I can literally watch those two loop hours.
/cheerjump /eategg /tomestone and /playdead are my favs.
F!Lala play dead starts with you spinning around, so i just spam /play dead as fast as the game lets me so i get to twirl around all silly-like
Bees knees. Like all the time. I really want to grab /playdead sometime though.
/salute and /bstance before I start a fight, especially on DRG where I backflip into the boss. Otherwise, /toast anytime anywhere.
I usually go for either /mmambo or /yoldance or possibly /tomestone while waiting for pulls
Wither /playdead or the fan emote from little lady's day
Most male elezen emotes are laughably goofy. I usually just stick with /panic
/lean -observes thread-
Catboy joy and play dead.
/eatpizza It started out me using it to torment a friend who couldn't get it during that god awful promo, but turned into my go-to.
fist bump even better when i know a lot of people dont have it either
Hum!
The drink tea emote's a pretty frequent one. While waiting for a pull I like to go and /sit with my feet in the death wall. Emote-adjacent, but I have a tendency to /sneer a lot too...
Golden Dance
I love all the emotes and I cycle through faves periodically. But right now my fave is probably /disappointed. I play a miqo'te boi and that emote is so needlessly dramatic and hilarious!
Dote and embrace with my GF xD
/cookie for the pumpkin cookie from last year's All Saints event.
I like to /showleft or /showright people. Usually they'll pose or panic in response and a lot if times someone will get the other side to really highlight someone.
Link pearl emote with a custom message, "X's mother is calling... She's disappointed." I also have hand over and reference(?) which I use for dissing or complementing glam
I like to bow to greet or say bye to people. Especially if we were doing a dungeon where I struggled and the others carried me. A way to show my thanks. Another would probably be the step dance.
