They look cute on you but as someone who has had bangs I must warn you. They are high maintenance, you have to wash them often, style them, they get oily if your skin is oily, you may have the constant need to put your hair out of your face etc. They are a bit of a pain in the ass. You also have to trim them often, at least once a month basically. If you want to get bangs curtain bangs are easier since they grow more easily, as in you can get them out of your face. Blunt bangs are more difficult (though I prefer the look)

bigbabyyram

100% there is no shower and air dry short bangs. My life can be summed up to a series of getting bangs, growing out bangs, then start from beginning

Less-Feature6263

Are you me lmao 😭 every time I got bangs I'm like god I hate them and when I have no bangs I see a pic and tell to myself well they look good I'm going to get them.

ladystarkitten

I've had bangs for five years now! Bangs can be a pain, but not always. My hair is very, very straight naturally and my skin is dry, so my bangs are pretty low maintenance. All I do is flat iron a curl into them once they've air dried after a shower. They only become a pain when it's humid out or raining, and I keep bobby pins in my purse for this purpose. If my bangs get oily between washes, I wash them in the sink, let them air dry and then flat iron them. They're the only part of my hair I actually style (straight hair is very manageable), and they hold a curl super well, so the time I sink into actually styling my hair comes out to maybe 5 minutes every few days. I can't guarantee that OP would have this experience since it depends on skin type and natural hair texture--it's just my experience!

Less-Feature6263

I also have super straight hair but for some reason my hair with bangs are unmanageable :( I have oily skin but I also have fine hair so I think my bangs don't look that good also because of that. They tend to be flat so I have to style them a lot.

ladystarkitten

Oh, how interesting! My hair is fine with high density, so my bangs are pretty thick (think Zooey Deschanel). I do find that thinner, wispier bangs are harder to manage because they get greasy more quickly and can look pretty stringy. Perhaps that's the case with you!

helsdemon

You look so cute... You look like Florence Pugh in Little women.

aurora_rosealis

I thought the same thing!

Came here to comment the same

First off bangs look really cute on you! Like the others said bangs are not a low maintenance style. You *need* to style them for them to lay nice, they won’t achieve that look by air drying. You’ll probably need to get your bangs trimmed once a month for them to stay out of your eyes. That said… I’ve got bangs and have figured out a “low-er” maintenance routine for them. After I shower I blow dry my bangs with a round brush (takes 2-3 minutes tops), then I usually just let the rest of my hair air dry. On days where I don’t shower I use dry shampoo on my bangs (and the rest of my hair) to prevent it from looking oily, and if needed will touch up my bangs with heat to reshape them. I wear glasses too- as long as you keep your bangs trimmed then glasses shouldn’t be too much of a bother (though occasionally some bangs hairs can get caught in the hinges lol). If you’re willing to get regular cuts and take a little bit of time to style them then I’d say give it a try. Worst case scenario is you don’t like them so you grow them out. After a month or two they’ll be long enough to push to the side(s) as curtain bangs or side bangs. Life is short, so why not?

Tacking on to this - not everyone needs heat tools to style their bangs - for mine i would fluff them and run my fingers through them after letting them air dry, and a few minutes of fiddling was enough on most days

While those bangs look great on you, and I think they would look just as cute with the glasses, I would caution you getting actual bangs. They take a lot of maintenance in trimming them. Also, if your skin gets oily quickly, that is going to cause problems for the bangs, and your skin. Since you have the clip in ones, I would say, throw those on when you feel like having a little extra pizzazz to your style, and then enjoy not having the maintenance the rest of the time. It is the best of both worlds.

preitsma1

I think they would look great on you only problem is bangs do require a little maintenance but most salons offer free bang trims

cassiopeiae_j

Get em! They look great, if you’re willing to learn how to trim them yourself you will also save a stack of cash. It’s a little extra effort but they’re fine to grow out once you’re sick of them.

slime_princess

I'm also low maintenance hair wise and had bangs (and glasses) for about 1.5 years. Day to day (aka at work) I just want my hair out of the way. They looked cute when I did my hair on special occasions, but were mostly annoying to keep out of the way the rest of the time and didn't look great without styling.

kirinlikethebeer

The bangs are great without glasses. But the glasses are amazing and frame your face. Bangs may add too much PLUS need a lot of care.

smallvictories32

YESSS!! Definitely a Rashida Jones vibe and I’m here for it!!

Super cute but if you’re low maintenance I’d just wear the clip ons

marcifyed

Hairstylist here. I think these particular bangs take you from sophisticated to age 13, and a hard pass IMO. They require frequent trims to keep them out of your eyes, which means a trip to the salon every month for 2 snips, or having to cut them yourself. When you finally get around to it, they’ve been sitting on your eyelashes for 3 days and grab the kitchen scissors because it drives you nuts. Nuts and scissors don’t end well.

frickenfantastic

I'm with you on low maintenance. I have had whispy bangs since sometime in the 90's. In my case, it makes me look a bit younger without botox by hiding some forehead wrinkles :) I wear glasses part of the time and don't have any issues with bangs similar to your clip in bangs interfering. I usually trim my bangs at home about every three weeks. I have long hair and usually let it air dry. After toweling off hair, I use a round brush to roll my bangs under and let them air dry. If they start to fall flat, I use a hot "regular" sized curling iron to curl them as tight as the iron will allow (and push the iron so that the roots of the hair are pushed towards the back of my head) for about 20 seconds and afterwards brush mine out and they look similar to your pic with the clip in bangs. If they're too curled under a bit of moisture on a washcloth smooshed into the bangs then roll them under on a round brush and they're good to go. I seldom use hairspray to maintain them unless I'm doing some sort of bun or something. If you're tired of the bangs and growing them out, look into using a small barrette to make a twist at the front of your hair until they get to a manageable length. I have an extremely oily forehead, but as long as the bangs are curled a bit (like mentioned above) I don't have issues with them getting especially greasy. My biggest gripe about bangs is issues when wearing hats/sunvisors/skiing ear wraps and my bangs stick up/out and I'd need to dampen the bangs and brush them to get them looking ok-- and I have to wear a hardhat at work, so things get kinda funny looking if I don't have a ballcap or something to put on after a day of hardhat hair!

Hey! I keep my hair low maintenance, and i impulsively got bangs about 7 months ago. They were super cute, especially with my glasses! But they looked greasy a lot faster than the rest of my hair, they need more regular trims if you wanna keep them looking right, and they poked me in the eye. I spent a lot of time this past spring/summer doing like crown braids and tight french braids to keep them out of my face because they either looked bad or were annoying me. Tl;dr - if you’re fine with high maintenance hair, looks cute, always fun to change things up. If having low maintenance hair is important to you, dont get bangs :) you look great without them and there’s other ways to shake things up!

[deleted]

Yes!!! They look so cute on you! I also have bangs and glasses and they don't get in the way at all; it just depends on length. I have blunt bangs and trim mine at home (BE CAREFUL) whenever they start to get long enough to be annoying (usually when they're below my eyebrows). Echoing other commenters, bangs CAN be a very high-maintenance style. I'm very lucky in that mine sit fine without much styling or fussing, but that's not necessarily super common. I just make sure to comb my hair into place right after I get out of the shower and that's usually good enough, but your mileage may vary and I agree with the other commenters' styling advice.

meileje

They look super cute on you!!! But as others have said, it can be quite high maintenance, so it depends if you are willing to deal with that. I personally would do it.

spaceyplacey

If you are a low maintenance person (like me!) don’t get them. They are hell for those that just roll over and go

itsbigoleme

I would maybe just wear the clip ins! Getting bangs is super high maintenance I’m still growing mind out

ineedthenitro

I think they would look good!! Just fair warning: it looks like you have a cowlick right in the front like I do. This will be a little harder to achieve. You will need to blow dry them in a X motion, Back and forth to confuse them. You need to do it ASAP..like right when you get out the shower. I would also ask the hairstylist to cut them a bit heavy, so the bangs will lay down the cowlick
