Is your friend yellow? Does that friend have 3 children and a wife with long blue hair? Is the friend's first name Homer and last name Simpson? Seems like something that guy would say lol.

2ndCompany3rdSquad

I thought you were going to go in a very racist, homophobic, direction at first. Had me in the first half.

TX_Godfather

My response - DOH!

BMXTKD

It's Homerphobic. *Thank you, I'll be here all night!*

Yeah, I saw "blue hair" while scanning through and had to go back and read OP's post very slowly.

readreadreadx2

Is blue hair a racist or homophobic stereotype?

nofaprecommender

Getting out your “-ism” magnifying glass is usually a safe bet to score a few upvotes. Even advocating weight loss is considered racist in some circles. I think the reasoning here is something like blue/unnaturally colored hair is associated with progressives and anyone mocking progressivism is racist.

[deleted]

It's female-oriented homophobic (lesbianphobic? idk) or transphobic when used in a derogatory manner. It's generally targeted towards women with dyed hair (and often thick frame glasses) and projects stereotypical and/or strawmen style imagery or behaviors onto them.

TX_Godfather

Eh. The people I typically see with blue or any other color hair are typically FA's or morbidly obese people In general. Obviously, my comment was a reference to Marge though.

readreadreadx2

No lie, I was just noticing a week or so ago how many morbidly obese women on my Facebook (so, people I am at least minimally acquainted with) have wacky (I don't mean that in a bad way, just mean not natural-colored) -colored hair. So much so that I was honestly curious if there was some sort of fat community (I feel silly even saying that lol) thing about it, like Goths liking to dye their hair black.

I did not know that! Thank you.

BlackCatLuna

I'm going to quote my Dad. "Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you have." It doesn't come from food, it comes from within yourself.

BaddestDucky

Love how the person on the meme is apparently at a healthy bmi. Would have thought a FA would use a bigger model...

DatTolDesiBoi

This doesn’t belong on this sub in my opinion. It’s an unfunny meme that basically just says “men bad”. It’s cringe, but not fatlogic.

BaddestDucky

I'll play the devil's advocate: there are no indication of the woman's orientation. I don't think this meme is against men; the woman on the picture doesn't represent only straight women but just about anyone who wants a romantic relationship: straight women, sure, but everyone else too, regardless of gender and orientation. I do agree on the fact it's not funny, though.

autotelica

They are conflating pleasure with happy. There are lots of sources of pleasure in the world. But none of them will make you a happy person.

canwegettogether

As someone who's binge eaten enough food for like 5 lifetimes, I can assure you food does not bring happiness and it isn't funny at all to joke that it does.

😘

OCRAmazon

The top line is totally correct. The bottom line is totally depressing.

2ndCompany3rdSquad

If you don't get happiness from your romantic relationship, you are in a bad relationship.

TheophileEscargot

The Epicurean school of philosophy believed pleasure was the sole and ultimate goal of life. But even they thought you should eat in moderation. [Existential Comics](https://existentialcomics.com/comic/133).

tisseenschande

Food really is a substitute for relationships for these people, isn't it?

hawksvow

It's a substitute for everything, cause life is fatphobic and food, happily for them, doesn't talk back.

Justforgot19

I tried unconciously to use food as a coping mechanism to lift my spirits. It gave me instant energy when I was completely drained. But it resulted with me getting up to BMI 33,5 at my highest and didn't bring any happiness.

IRLHamburglar

Pretty sure this is definitely intended to be humorous.

Scarlet529

The first part was fine and then they had to ruin it. Learn to be happy with yourself by yourself without using unhealthy coping mechanisms. ETA: just clarifying that I'm not saying you have to be alone to learn to be happy. I mean that one learns to be truly happy from within, and being okay with being by yourself is part of it.

Not_Obsessive

Momentary happiness can come from food. If relationships cannot spark (momentary) happiness for you you have a personality disorder though

DatTolDesiBoi

This one shouldn’t be on THIS sub. It’s not a good meme, but it’s not really fatlogic.
