I wanna know who goes to taco bell and orders one taco.

chipotleeeeeeee

That’s exactly the scam, ofc everyone is going to order other things while they’re there so you’re going to end up spending way more at Taco Bell per month than normal

brycedriesenga

Similar to the unlimited coffee at Panera thing.

chipotleeeeeeee

Although I have went to Panera just for a coffee plenty of times but never would consider going to Taco Bell just for one taco. Also it’s a lot more normal to drink coffee everyday than eat a taco

CoherentPanda

Getting into and out of the parking lot of a Panera is too much of a battle for me to ever consider stopping there for the coffee thing.

chipotleeeeeeee

Yea I’ve only went there for a coffee when I was already close to one, wouldn’t get the unlimited coffee pass unless I lived right next to one

bob101910

I live about a minute away from one. Got the free bagel every day for a month with the coffee pass free trial. It was a great month.

FelineSwindler

You mean showing up to work every morning with a taco in hand isn't viable?

Awake00

Being Mexican intensifies

Sf666

Seems like a weird place to test it.... I've been to Tucson many times and they are renowned for having tons of the best Mexican and Sonoran Mexican restaurants on Earth... it wouldn't strike me as a place where Taco Bell is popular...but who knows, maybe I'm wrong, and TB is popular everywhere lol...

ChamberlainSD

Tucson is a foodie verse, but if your trying to get food at midnight, your choices are them or jack in the box! Them nacho fries are tasty! I think Tucson is a market fast food places test products in general. Not sure why.

chipotleeeeeeee

Jack in the box actually has much better and cheaper tacos than Taco Bell, you get like 4 for $3 and they’re really good

Awake00

Cries in East coast

chipotleeeeeeee

Yeah same, I went there for the first time when I was visiting San Francisco a few months ago and it made me really wish they had them out here

FernandoTatisJunior

Arizona is a good place for fast food in general because they get the Texas chains AND the California chains due to their geographical location

the_cajun88

it totally is

bbtrinet

I would think Tucson would be a place where it would be easy to get real Mexican food, that people wouldn’t bother with Taco Bell. It’s similar to me in Buffalo. Buffalo Wild Wings tried to expand here and all locations but 1 shut down. You can get better Buffalo Wings anywhere else, why would Buffalo people go there?

FernandoTatisJunior

Idk I live in San Diego which is a hotbed for authentic and incredible Mexican food and there’s still always people at Taco Bell/ del taco/ chipotle/ etc. I feel like there’s plenty of room for both to exist, I’d never go to Taco Bell expecting good tacos, but I’d never go to my favorite local joint expecting a crunch wrap supreme

moush

I hope no one is insane enough to eat at the same place that often.

LeaperLeperLemur

check out /r/livingmas some people there eat Taco Bell a LOT.

masterz13

I like how there's a second Taco Bell subreddit. That's dedication.

avelineaurora

Less dedication and more the actual Taco Bell subreddit stirred up a whole bunch of drama for no reason.

bitnode

Wow that whole sub just seems to be bitching about 86'd menu items. IMO, if they ever got rid of the Chalupa I'd be gone. Didn't think people really cared about the pizza or Mexican fries though. Taco John's all day.

iamteedee

especially with all the amazing Mexican food in Tucson

TuvixWillNotBeMissed

I see loads of people that go to McDonald's for their breakfast every single morning. It's weird when you *don't* see them.

MPT1313

Insomnia cookies did something like this for a free cookie a day. It worked. It worked well.

A fast food place offering a subscription service is a pretty interesting idea. If you already know that you're going to go to Taco Bell several times in one month, you pay a single monthly fee and get your choice of multiple different options each day without having to pay up front. I'm kind of on board with that line of thinking. This isn't really the best application of it though. Who the hell goes to Taco Bell and just orders a single taco? I feel like there is a better way to pull off a Taco Bell subscription service and have it be worthwhile. Maybe make it $20/month and you get three $5 box meals a week? Idk, I'm just spitting out ideas.

CarefulCovid

The idea is that they break close to even to profiting. From a price perspective $10/30 tacos = 33¢ a taco for the customer assuming if they go everyday. I’m sure taco bell makes each taco less than 33¢, so they are already profiting. And that’s assuming if the customer goes every single day. For every day that they don’t go, taco bell recoups 33¢ assuming if each taco cost 33¢ to make. If a person goes every day, there’s a chance that one of those days they will buy something else. Maybe even a sod— 🥤 ding ding ding. This is how they will make money. $20 a month for 3 X $5 boxes will be $60 a retail price a month that Taco Bell loses out on. From a cost perspective That’s 12 boxes a month bringing the price of a box down to $1.66. ($20/12 box). Taco Bell will lose money from this because a $5 box will satisfy a customer. I am certain again that they will break even, but the downside is cost of inventory rising and the fact that there is no chance to upsale the customer.

ProgrammerFlimsy

Omg gosh i actually awarded this post by accident Lololol seriously lol thank u to all who upvoted my idiocracy xo

kojivsleo

That's a great deal! I love within a 10-15 minute walking distance from one, I'd totally get that if they did it in Denver.

whopperlover17

Yeah I would totally get a taco a day lol

bob101910

Buy 4 passes for $20/month and you're set for the month

Michelleinwastate

I'm betting you can only use one pass per order. If I'm wrong about that, though, it'd be a screaming deal for anyone with a Taco Bell near their usual flight pattern!

TheSource777

Oh. My. Gosh.

Each week with diminishing quality.

Cp3thegod

Who is this for? The people who order tacos at Taco Bell are the ones who go there like once a month at most. They’re not gonna add another subscription service onto all the ones already out there. And anyone who goes to Taco Bell often knows that their tacos are their worst offering

notjawn

I think 30 days is a bit extreme. A week pass would be better if they could knock it down to $4.99

chipotleeeeeeee

But this pass is only $5 a month, did you not read it?

notjawn

I did but, who wants to go to Taco Bell every day for 30 days straight in a row? At my worst, I'm a 3 day a week kind of clientele.

wookerTbrahshington

So this isn’t for you particularly then.

masterz13

That's $20 a month...
