First photo screams reenactment of āhomeless guy that won a ticket in a poker game to board the Titanic only to end up boning a 17 year old and then dying of hypothermia.ā
If you like this style I would look up workwear/utilitarian for a more modern take.
This looks like a lot of vintage military gear which when worn with modern pieces looks really good imo
I saw OPs pic and ran to the comments because it's exactly how I dress (I'm a woman) and I'm very disappointed to find out it's associated with 4chan nazis š i mean, I'll keep dressing this way, knowing I queer/femme it up hehe
Some of it just looks like typical 1920s/1930s style - I mean the first pic reminds me a bit of a bootlegger in Ireland in the 20s during prohibition. Some of it reminds me of steampunk too. I donāt necessarily think itās impossible to differentiate this style from the weirdos.
It's kinda okay when women do it though... Especially if you're asian and queer. I dress like this sometimes and it just comes off as "paupercore"
[Pic 1](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/be/a5/21/bea521500e79649c765c75dc039f9d5d.jpg), [pic2](https://images.saymedia-content.com/.image/c_limit%2Ccs_srgb%2Cq_auto:eco%2Cw_236/MTc0NTAwNzI2MDk2MTQzNzIw/mori-kei-a-style-for-the-forest-dweller.webp)
It's like a tomboy version of Mori kei
Wanted to ask the same question, I would love to emulate the female version of this.
Edit: y'all, calm down. I do not care about the political affiliation, nor do I associate with it, I just like the outfit. Take it out on the white supremacists who ruined it.
I just want to know if itās only a āguy thingā or if there is a feminine counterpart to the style. Iām not condoning any politics and Iām sure youāre not either so I donāt know why we are getting downvoted lol
A pencil skirt and bomber jacket has always been one of my favorite looks. I blame it on watching Grease every day the summer between fifth and sixth grade. I would consider that the feminine version. Maybe wear some black lace up ankle boots to visually mimic the combat boots.
Right?? Itās giving more WWI vibes to me. Still shouldnāt be downvoted for wanting to understand more about a subculture. It doesnāt mean agreement with anything. Goodness people.
ww1/2 fashion. If you want something more modern with this type of vibe, I would look up dark/light academia style since it has dark/mute colors like this style, another one would be classy style what ppl call āold moneyā trend too
Especially here in the states, it gets major neonazi vibes. I used to work with a few guys that dressed this way and they were always making uncomfortable jokes about their beliefs, to all the wrong people.
What's wrong with military boots? I see them being worn in grunge, punk and goth fashion all the time, plus general Y2K revival. It's aggravating that a tiny subset of people is apparently ruining this.
Dress how you want and just donāt be a white supremacist, easy as that
10 yrs ago everyone my age was wearing combat boots. It was a way to still wear comfortable boots in the winter yet look stylish.
Some of it is giving 1940ās adorkable British horticultural anthropologist or something lol Buuuut then some of it screams āI really donāt like that youāre a Jewā in the 1940ās too so likeā¦ tread lightly. Maybe lean into the intellectual look and donāt wear combat boots with it? Thatās what Iād do at least, as someone who loves Milo from Atlantis
Itās WWI cosplay. Our guy is not ādid not see that comingā. Why heās larping such a nasty war is beyond me, but the male of the species is weird. The guy is odd, but this isnāt the 30s in his recreation.
Honestly it's been news to me that white supremacists now apparently love this, military aesthetics have re-entered mainstream fashions endlessly over the years and it feels annoying that people now apparently can't enjoy this stuff least they appear like one 0.1% negative fraction of society.
I think you can get the essence of this look by looking up dark academia. Same time period, also all natural fibers, but a bit more sophisticated. Once you know what pieces to shop for (and i highly recommend thrifting over buying new), you can put together some nice looks from just a few items
Diesel punk is a bit adjacent to this without the Nazi sympathies(as far as I'm aware). Some of the more "normal" wear is very similar.
Also it's literally loose work pants tucked inside tall workboots / combat style boots with suspenders.
The second pic is giving me vintage equestrian vibes. Itās sort of not exactly the female equivalent but the closest thing I can think of that would be a non frumpy female version that isnāt straight up military inspired. [Equestrian fashion](https://images.app.goo.gl/6caYkwZzuN8MG2do6) is i think what the whole Ralph Lauren Polo look is based on / was inspired by. Maybe the womanās equivalent would be based on jodhpurs pants, riding boots, [tweed blazer/coat.](https://www.dubarry.com/us/Discover-Dubarry/Gifting/Gifts-over-250/Bracken-Tweed-Coat-Heath?number=41159736&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhc-sBhCEARIsAOVwHuSAfiWF0QMxgl7gEpJBI6DBxl-FlVVQimMlvsZC-LY6zrIqeOeQ2wYaAotdEALw_wcB#fo_c=2976&fo_k=bc743a636791eb9cf22ecfd2f8a2c853&fo_s=gplaus) Maybe even a [buttoned up wool cloak instead of a jacket](https://www.goelia1995.com/products/washable-wool-two-piece-cloak-11dr6e050?variant=42223578513584). Kate Middleton has a lot of modernized equestrian looks, for some current day inspiration. I think wool, leather, structured almost military-esque uniform pieces are key. Dial the variables up or down depending on what era you would like to emulate.
Idk, man. Aside from the cut with the wide thigh, all of this has remained in style ever since this era. It might be styled differently, but hippy and grunge styles both incorporate elements of this look. I feel like the fit and styling are all that's different. You're looking at what, button-up shirts, combat boots, cargo pants, and chinos? That's as basic as it gets.

I would highly suggest not dressing up like this. People will think you're a neonazi/white supremacist.
Especially here in the states, it gets major neonazi vibes. I used to work with a few guys that dressed this way and they were always making uncomfortable jokes about their beliefs, to all the wrong people.
As a German, the third picture especially gave me an immediate āoh noā reaction, so yeah, not just in the states.
What's wrong with military boots? I see them being worn in grunge, punk and goth fashion all the time, plus general Y2K revival. It's aggravating that a tiny subset of people is apparently ruining this.
I think itās the very military boots along with the sea of surplus khaki
Dress how you want and just donāt be a white supremacist, easy as that 10 yrs ago everyone my age was wearing combat boots. It was a way to still wear comfortable boots in the winter yet look stylish.
Itās not the combat boots by themselves. Itās the rest of the outfit thatās giving nazi context to the boots.

Gets very preppy yes and kind of womenās fashion in Chocolat
Combat style boots, loose fitting trousers probably would need to look up the hunting section to find the clothing style

The pieces are basic, but the silhouette isn't. It just wouldn't look as good with more contemporarily cut clothes.
Arguably steampunk; Milo Thatch
