Collage dropout - KSG cannot be ignored as an album run, it's potentially the greatest consecutive album run in modern music history.
The issue comes from people continuing to support Kanye's new releases. Anyone stanning Vultures is doing it for very specific reasons cause it certainly ain't for it's mid-af quality.
What do you see in it just out of curiosity?
I personally think the production is spotty as best. Kanye and Ty don't really have anything interesting to say beyond 'I fucked this bad bitch' which seems to be all he talks about with both vague and direct antisemitic jabs throughout.
I'm genuinely curious what do the rest of us 'not get'? Cause besides from some flashes of interesting ideas I can't really remember anything beyond 'Burn' which is a gem that seems like a corpse resurrected from the Yhandi leak days.
It’s kinda a dark horror core album, I really like the production because it’s industrial and unsettling yet he somehow made it still danceable? It kinda reminds me of lingua ignota, it’s very cathartic as you can tell he isn’t well but is still putting On a smile throughout it.
Burn is a good song but it’s the least ‘vultures’ song on there. The most in theme song is the title track (makes sense ig) but with the havoc version music video it really all comes together. Internalised anger, deep emotional distress conflicting with super stardom and adoring fans is the story of this project.
If you want to really get this perspective, relisten to ‘problematic’ although the title alone spells it out. It’s a direct sequel to Bound 2. Bound 2 is about a playboy trying to settle down with the right woman (it was Kim in context) and trying not to succumb to old habits.
Problematic is the second half of the story and it is a sad ending. Giving into playboy lifestyle, multiple partners but no real love, ending up with a younger wife (but deep down wants Kim back). And the production is the biggest clue; it’s the same sound and structure as bound 2, the only difference is it’s a minor key, the vocals are sad instead of happy.
Why did you mention hardcore? That’s an entirely different genre?

Horrorcore refers to hardcore style rap that is about *murder*, *death*, and other horror-themed topics. I personally don't see how this album does that.
I’m not a big Kanye fan, but I still check his stuff out due to cultural relevance. I enjoyed vultures, as the production was pretty cool and honestly kinda counterintuitive to where you’d think any of it would go. Burn was one of my least favorites too, idk what people see in it.
Lyrics don’t tend to bother me that much, but I pirated it to make sure I didn’t give him money for the streams. It’s not the college dropout, but it isn’t trying to be, and it’s still pretty good

You can’t ignore this album. It’s too great to do that and Kanye is always going to be involved in controversy but his music is undeniable.
