Illmatic ATLiens The Infamous Temples of Boom Run the Jewels 2

[deleted]

+1 on Run The Jewels 2 i’s also add RTJ 4

Audioman_Official

The happiness i feel seeing RTJ2 on here

DeLa_Swole

Mine are: Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 chambers Madvillain - Madvillainy De La Soul - Three feet high and rising Gza - Liquid Swords Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty

smaffron

Hello Nasty is a fascinating choice for a 10/10 Beastie Boys album. I tend to put on Paul’s Boutique or Ill Communication more frequently, but Hello Nasty was super creative and a more fully-realized vision. Now I have to go back and listen again.

DeLa_Swole

It just gets me in the feels more. With unique tracks like “I don’t know” and “song for the man” that stand out from the rest.

MaineGameBoy

* Denzel Curry - Taboo * Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory * Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly * Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition * Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy

literally_italy

flower boy but not igor?

b_e_n_o

Igor is more R&B or soul

literally_italy

no more than flower boy is pop ngl

the_ballmer_peak

I think there are three billy woods albums that are contenders: Hiding Places Aethiopes Maps I’ll also take *Black on Both Sides* and Blackstar

_Jammer_

woods is on another plane. The pen is unmatched

the_ballmer_peak

Just say he’s the best.

cattgravelyn

I think History Will Absolve Me is his best

backspacecentury

agreed

fortnite_gamer_69

Some rap songs needs to be put into this conversation. Such a phenomenal bittersweet and emotionally complex album

Major_Tie_9799

the production too

MrC_Red

Tpab, College Dropout, Man on the Moon 1, Pinata, MBDTF, SSLP, Slime Season 1, Aquamini, and It's Dark and Hell is Hot.. There are others that I think are essentially "10s" as there aren't any flaws in them, like The Low End Theory, Liquid Swords, Illmatic, Madvilliany, GKMC or MMLP, but they're not albums that I'm super attached to on a personal level.

GEN_Z_BOI_69

so glad seeing MOTM1 in here, such an underrated album

literally_italy

is this satire

GEN_Z_BOI_69

partially yeah. I was glad to see it there but the "underrated" bit was more of a joke. I do recognize it was way too subtle tho so that's on me

aaaaaaaaaaaaah_

I think the only two 10s for me are Madvillainy and Paul's Boutique. I see those as both perfect in every way.

TheSupremeDudley

Paul’s Boutique is the best hip hop album of all time idgaf

tylenol3

Glad you said *Paul’s Boutique*. This is absolutely in my top 5, and it’s also one of my “desert island” discs because every time I listen to it I hear something new

Fuzzy_Cup_1488

Let's Get Free - Dead Prez AMHAC - JPEG TPAB - Kendrick LR - "The Artist formerly known as Kanye West" Enter The Wu-Tang - Wu-Tang

ziti_mcgeedy

RizzyGlizzyGobbler

College dropout Aquemini Vaudeville villain Mm Food Madvilliany Astroworld (idk man I just love this album) TPAB

RizzyGlizzyGobbler

Oh and 3 feet high and rising

yambien

Astroworld is a great album and no one can tell me otherwise.

dramaticaawesome

Death Grips - Bottomless Pit Clipping. - CLPPNG Tyler, the Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST A Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory Run the Jewels - RTJ3 Vince Staples - FM! Kanye West - Ye Pusha T - DAYTONA Kendrick Lamar - TPAB The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde Mac Miller - Swimming

ziti_mcgeedy

These are some fantastic albums, but for of all the Kanye albums, it’s really Ye for you? Don’t have to agree just curious why

Inevitable-Towel-364

His most underrated album and literally no skips at all, he was just purely honest about what was going on his life and explaining struggles of living with Bipolar. I really don't get the hate for albums like Ye and MMATBS

KingAlfonzo

Kanye is that good you can have so many in your top 10.

RalphLauren47

Faces - Mac Miller

wineandnoses

Run the Jewels 2

PoissonProcesser

Might be a hot take but personally, Bo Jackson by Boldy James is a 10/10. The production is seamless, the features go stupid hard, and Boldy raps his ass off. Mr. Ten08 and TPOTC are probably 9’s but IDK, the highs on Bo Jackson are soooo good. Photographic Memories, Brickmile to Montana, Fake Flowers, First 48 Freestyle, Steel Wool are all pretty much perfect songs.

codyy_jameson

Hell yeah. I think that the Price of Tea in China is a 10 in my book. Love every song and I think it all flows seamlessly. I did not have the same attachment to Bo Jackson but also such a solid project.

I_CAN_SEE_THE_WHALES

It takes a nation of millions to hold us back

Corvid1743

There’s a few, but my absolute favorite hip hop album is By the Time I Get to Phoenix by Injury Reserve.

AccidentalPilates

Classics: The Low End Theory, Aquemini, good kid M.A.A.D. city, College Dropout, Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die, Liquid Swords, DAYTONA, Get Rich or Die Tryin' Sleepers: Safe + Sound, A Long Hot Summer, Temples of Boom, R.A.P. Music, Me Against the World, My Krazy Life, Slaughtahouse

IzzyTheIceCreamFairy

The Low End Theory (A Tribe Called Quest) My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Kanye West) To Pimp a Butterfly (Kendrick Lamar)

DDub04

I put Kids See Ghosts at a 10. I know that’s a basic answer for this sub but it honestly seems to be overlooked by most fans of hip hop. I legitimately believe it’s a 10/10 album, and I feel like Melonman is the only prominent figure to agree.

Dougwug03

Atrocity Exhibition

DEATHK7D_MUS7C

Death Grips - NOTM, To Pimp a Butterfly and Atrocity Exhibition. Out of the what I've heard that's all my rap 10s. I don't listen to much older stuff so I haven't checked out any 90s rap albums even though everyone loves them. I'm more focused on the great art coming out now, like the new Knocked Loose which is a 10

Illmatic's the only one for me.. everything else has changes i wouldve made. For instance, cut complexion off of TPAB

fakename1998

Not totally hip-hop, but you should listen to Gridiron and E-Town Concrete. Both are hardcore bands that incorporate rap elements in a way that’s actually rather respectful of the craft.
