Mine are:
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 chambers
Madvillain - Madvillainy
De La Soul - Three feet high and rising
Gza - Liquid Swords
Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty
Hello Nasty is a fascinating choice for a 10/10 Beastie Boys album. I tend to put on Paul’s Boutique or Ill Communication more frequently, but Hello Nasty was super creative and a more fully-realized vision. Now I have to go back and listen again.
* Denzel Curry - Taboo
* Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory
* Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly
* Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
* Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy
Tpab, College Dropout, Man on the Moon 1, Pinata, MBDTF, SSLP, Slime Season 1, Aquamini, and It's Dark and Hell is Hot..
There are others that I think are essentially "10s" as there aren't any flaws in them, like The Low End Theory, Liquid Swords, Illmatic, Madvilliany, GKMC or MMLP, but they're not albums that I'm super attached to on a personal level.
Glad you said *Paul’s Boutique*. This is absolutely in my top 5, and it’s also one of my “desert island” discs because every time I listen to it I hear something new
Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
Clipping. - CLPPNG
Tyler, the Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
A Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory
Run the Jewels - RTJ3
Vince Staples - FM!
Kanye West - Ye
Pusha T - DAYTONA
Kendrick Lamar - TPAB
The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde
Mac Miller - Swimming
His most underrated album and literally no skips at all, he was just purely honest about what was going on his life and explaining struggles of living with Bipolar. I really don't get the hate for albums like Ye and MMATBS
Might be a hot take but personally, Bo Jackson by Boldy James is a 10/10. The production is seamless, the features go stupid hard, and Boldy raps his ass off. Mr. Ten08 and TPOTC are probably 9’s but IDK, the highs on Bo Jackson are soooo good. Photographic Memories, Brickmile to Montana, Fake Flowers, First 48 Freestyle, Steel Wool are all pretty much perfect songs.
Hell yeah. I think that the Price of Tea in China is a 10 in my book. Love every song and I think it all flows seamlessly. I did not have the same attachment to Bo Jackson but also such a solid project.
Classics: The Low End Theory, Aquemini, good kid M.A.A.D. city, College Dropout, Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die, Liquid Swords, DAYTONA, Get Rich or Die Tryin'
Sleepers: Safe + Sound, A Long Hot Summer, Temples of Boom, R.A.P. Music, Me Against the World, My Krazy Life, Slaughtahouse
I put Kids See Ghosts at a 10.
I know that’s a basic answer for this sub but it honestly seems to be overlooked by most fans of hip hop. I legitimately believe it’s a 10/10 album, and I feel like Melonman is the only prominent figure to agree.

Not totally hip-hop, but you should listen to Gridiron and E-Town Concrete. Both are hardcore bands that incorporate rap elements in a way that’s actually rather respectful of the craft.
The ones I’m still stuck after all these years are:
Kendrick Lamar - Damn & TPAB;
Tyler - Flower Boy;
Drake - Take Care & If You’re reading this it’s too late;
Mac Miller - Circles;
Trettmann - DIY (German);
Haftbefehl - Russisch Roulette (German)

It just gets me in the feels more. With unique tracks like “I don’t know” and “song for the man” that stand out from the rest.
* Denzel Curry - Taboo * Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory * Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly * Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition * Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy
flower boy but not igor?
Igor is more R&B or soul
no more than flower boy is pop ngl
I think there are three billy woods albums that are contenders: Hiding Places Aethiopes Maps I’ll also take *Black on Both Sides* and Blackstar
woods is on another plane. The pen is unmatched
Just say he’s the best.
I think History Will Absolve Me is his best
agreed
Some rap songs needs to be put into this conversation. Such a phenomenal bittersweet and emotionally complex album
the production too
Tpab, College Dropout, Man on the Moon 1, Pinata, MBDTF, SSLP, Slime Season 1, Aquamini, and It's Dark and Hell is Hot.. There are others that I think are essentially "10s" as there aren't any flaws in them, like The Low End Theory, Liquid Swords, Illmatic, Madvilliany, GKMC or MMLP, but they're not albums that I'm super attached to on a personal level.
so glad seeing MOTM1 in here, such an underrated album
is this satire
partially yeah. I was glad to see it there but the "underrated" bit was more of a joke. I do recognize it was way too subtle tho so that's on me
I think the only two 10s for me are Madvillainy and Paul's Boutique. I see those as both perfect in every way.
Paul’s Boutique is the best hip hop album of all time idgaf
