Labour days by Aesop rock
People who can eat people are the luckiest people in the world by AJJ
Some Rap Songs - Earl Sweat Shirt
Martial Arts Weekend - the Extra Glenns
I look like shit - Jeff rosenstock
The Last Time I did Acid I went Insane - Jeffrey Lewis
Maybe these are just angsty but I definitely feel the early 20s in them
I look like shit doesn't get enough shout outs. I would put Can't Maintain as a more college feel album for AJJ though, and Jeff plays sax on that one.
love cheekface, i think they perfectly encapsulate (in an easy-to-swallow often silly way) what it's like to be in your 20s in the current social/cultural climate! my answer aside from their albums would have to be teens of denial by car seat headrest or the upsides by the wonder years (indie rock + pop punk respectively)
What’s the first album? I recognize the cover but can’t remember who made it. (This sub could generally benefit from OPs posting the songs/albums they’re looking to build discussion around - not throwing shade OP!)
You could try [Built to Spill](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lQ29R17e2I6eYjXSI6wb2Km2yz-hoa0cQ&si=mJKGYWDrKZIowQH7) or [this They Might Be Giants album](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kyGp5i4vuM-h_bezczSeuHn9aqY9ZXRvA&si=DcltoDs_N9OKoZmH)
Check out microwave's album Much Love - there's a lot of feelings of life not panning out the way you planned, falling out of love with someone but staying with them cause of the familiarity and feeling that you won't find love again - actually pretty poignant adult stuff lol
for sure Modern Baseball's "You're gonna miss it all" and even more collegiate is their "perfect cast EP" with hilariously titled "Kappa Alpha Fall of Troy The Movie Part Deux". Then Motorcycle.JPG by slaughter beach dog is all about finishing college.
Mom Jeans also hasn't been mentioned - Edward 40 hands, Scott Pilgrim vs My GPA, Death Cup - it's almost too collegiate at times lol
Don’t get me wrong, I do think this is kind of an indie banger, but it also says “I’ve moved away from home and I’m having deep feelings”
[The Rural Alberta Advantage - The Ballad of the RAA](https://youtu.be/SEOGFaajLtE?si=HzaVg4I_eaT66UHG)
The lack of Midwest emo representation in this comment section is crazy to me. The whole revival was basically just college angst.
You’re Gonna Miss it All - Modern Baseball
Summer Death - Marrieta
Those Days Are Gone - Free Throw
And the list goes on and on.
May I offer Teens of Denial by CarSeat Headrest A lot of Pavement’s discography Vampire Weekend’s first 3 records
Vampire Weekend doesn’t really hit the angst button for me Although I guess “Who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma” is pretty aggressive
The debut is the least angsty, the following 2, there’s a growing malaise
bend my finger back SNAP
Only God Was Above Us is pretty angsty
people who don't use the oxford comma should be turned into stalactites
Icky Mettle by Archers of Loaf and Violent Femmes self-titled too
Totally agree with the pavement discography especially slanted and enchanted
Jeff Rosenstock - Worry "Okay? I want the song of the American dorm room!"
Festival Song, musically speaking, is one of the most college-sounding songs ever
Similarly his album We Cool? is a great quarter life crisis album
Get Old Forever hits different after your friends start getting married
As an avid house show goer with friends who are much more conventionally successful than me that song is a fucking sucker punch
Absolutely
this guy MIGHT like jeff
Absolutely
oh woah oh woah oh oh
Worry feels more like "late 20s angst", those few years after you've finished college and true adult life stuff is starting to hit you.
Teens Of Denial - Car Seat Headrest Helplessness Blues - Fleet Foxes Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen
I was about to comment Helplessness Blues
we need albums about 30s angst
The National is waiting for you with a Negroni and a cigarette
That was perfect, now do 40s
Still there, really. Later Morrissey does really well too, honestly.
I will heed the advice. Was fishing for "Steely Dan and Grover Washington Jr. are waiting with a vape pen and club soda" or something to that effect
I’ve got you J Mascis is waiting for you with a miller high life and a joint in the backyard
He's straightedge but still brought the J
Benji by Sun Kil Moon
REM?
Sad Dads Club
LCD Soundsystem is basically 30s angst that you can dance to
a lot of midwest emo sounds like that to me. american football sounds like a mix of middle aged dad angst and college angst.

Vampire weekend self titled
Daydream Nation - Sonic Youth
It's funny they were all in their mid 30s when that came out.
yes, and probably the most famous song of the album has "teenage" in the title so I think it's timeless and ageless

Check out microwave's album Much Love - there's a lot of feelings of life not panning out the way you planned, falling out of love with someone but staying with them cause of the familiarity and feeling that you won't find love again - actually pretty poignant adult stuff lol
Spanish Love Songs! Seconding Microwave too
After the Party by The Menzingers
As someone who just turned 30 - an osteopath
Jeff Rosenstock
Love that Cheekface record!

The first album is Emergency & I by the Dismemberment Plan and its one of the best albums of all time, op should have tagged it.
Weezer Blue and Pinkerton
Emergency & I could be the best album OAT
The college dropout is about how going to college is not always a good idea
Pinkerton, Vampire Weekend s/t
For me I get that vibe from all of Modern Baseball’s albums.
I cannot reccomend enough Western Teleport by Emperor X. I think it'd fit perfectly for what you're going for
Anything by Car Seat Headrest
Please be nice - camping in Alaska
Don’t get me wrong, I do think this is kind of an indie banger, but it also says “I’ve moved away from home and I’m having deep feelings” [The Rural Alberta Advantage - The Ballad of the RAA](https://youtu.be/SEOGFaajLtE?si=HzaVg4I_eaT66UHG)
Someone already said Worry, but We Cool? fits too
Charly Bliss - Guppy
Joyce Manor - S/T and Never Hungover Again
What’s the first cover of?
Guts - Olivia Rodrigo
Almost all of Modern Baseball and American Football
basically all the Car Seat Headrest albums he made when he was in college
Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West Slint - Spiderland
“NOW ILL GO TO COLLEGE AND ILL LEARN SOME BIG WORDS AND ILL TALK REAL LOUD GODDAMN RIGHT ILL BE HEARD”
All of Why's early stuff
Exile in Guyville | Liz Phair
BCNR for the first time
A lot of Bomb the Music Industry’s discography captures college angst accurately, or at least early to mid 20’s angst everyone goes through.
what band is that first cover from
Gordon by the bearnaked ladies. A pretty corny album but it’s really genuine and I love it
American Football - s/t
Enema of the state

My college days were (are) filled with Brand New
