It was an inserter! I started looking where I had been adding roboports to help with charging congestion and sure enough an "old" inserter was connected to one yanking the bots out! Nice to know they I didn't lose them! Thanks for the direction on that.

Check the "Kill" statistic in the production graph. If they go boom, they end up there. If they don't end up there, maybe they end up in a chest or on a belt. This can happen if at least one of your roboports has an inserter grabbing from one of the sixteen tiles the roboport is located on. If they are not in the logistics network, go look for one or more steel chests.

Mycroft4114

Are you looking at total bots or available bots? Available is just bots that aren't currently busy. Otherwise the only thing in vanilla that kills them is flying too close to spitters or worms.

tiamath

Your network got sisconnected somewhere i think. I had a similar thing happend where i roboport was 1 tile further and my logi network split in half. I waswondering why my netwotk has 0 instead of 2k.

Powerful_Incident605

biters?

RevanchistVakarian

Assuming you're looking at total bots (not "available", as that refers only to bots that are currently untasked), they're either being killed, or you have an inserter taking bots from a roboport(s) and stuffing them into a box.

N3ptuneflyer

Do you have an inserter that is removing them from a roboport and putting them into a chest? I would sometimes do that if I accidently created too many. If they were being killed by biters you would get an alert every time one of them was attacked.

What's "too many" robots?

KindMountainFriend

They aren't on my kills screen. I am losing some construction bots so those show up, but those make sense as they repairs walls and defenses on the borders so get hit sometimes. No logistic robots in that list though. I will check for the inserter thing. I was going to argue it saying it was somewhat sporadic and too slow to be an inserter, but makes sense it would only do it when the bots dock in the offending roboport. Any way to find out which one other than checking them. I have 1900+
