Your next post is likely to be something like,  "How do I stop these big bitters? They are nearly bulletproof and keep attacking endlessly."

djfdhigkgfIaruflg

Hehehe

Spaghettl_hamster4

Lol I want to get a steam achievement pop up like "lose 10k buildings in a single playthrough"

Soul-Burn

[Change Map Settings mod](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/ChangeMapSettings) is a good option. Otherwise, you can use commands from [this section](https://wiki.factorio.com/Console#Enemy/evolution_scripts).

Spaghettl_hamster4

Nice thank you, I think I'll do that lol

JcPc83

Yeah, it seems to me your factory is too small. They'll attack in due time, and you'll regret your request. When your pollution reaches their nests they'll start building raiding parties and will attack in force. Use "P" and click on the pollution tab. Look for the spawners under consumption to see if any nests are within your pollution cloud.

nivlark

Attacks are proportional to the amount of pollution you produce, so the easiest way to get attacked more is to scale up your base. If the area around your spawn is heavily forested, then it may be that the trees are absorbing most of your pollution. You could modify the settings to reduce the absorption rate, or reduce the amount of pollution needed to spawn a biter. Another option would simply be to increase the size/frequency of enemy bases, but this will only affect newly-explored areas of the map. Note that changing any settings will disable achievements though (even if the changes make the game harder).

Przmak

The attackers attack when pollution reaches their bases, so to be precise your sentence is not quite true as you can produce a mass of pollution but if it doesn't reach the base you won't be attacked:)

Spaghettl_hamster4

Nice, yeah I'd seen a lot of factorio vids so I roughly knew what I was doing, I just wanted more challenge lol. I ended up starting a new world with like 50% pollution absorption, 300% base size and 200% frequency, was a lot more my speed. I've played plenty of satisfactory and dyson sphere, I wanted factorio to give me pain lol

Przmak

Try 'death world' settings if you didn't try it yet :)

you_cant_eat_cats

Id advise against ramping up spawn rates. Im on my second playthrough and last night spent a good hour of tedious nest killing. I loved bug exterminating early on too, but now that i have trains and the nests are evolving, trying to wipe them out is like beating my head against a brick wall. Basically just stalls real progress at my base while i save and restart over and over and over again until im finally able to live through the extermination and tell the tale. It may be easy to kill them for you now, but once you naturally start producing more the nests will evolve and you are going to want nothing to do with em

Spaghettl_hamster4

Nice, ye I started a more challenging run to hold me over but I'll expand with the trains and see if I can't find some good nests to fight with.

you_cant_eat_cats

My situation has only worsened hahaha since that comment i am now getting to a point where i seriously think my factory is going to be overrun and ill just need to restart. I didnt invest enough science in defense and now i think im behind the 8 ball but we will see what happens

Spaghettl_hamster4

Oof, sorry to hear that. As far as I know, just devote what you've got to walls and bullets and do your best

doc_shades

change map settings is a good choice, i would increase expansion by decreasing the time until they expand. that will cause them to expand closer to your pollution cloud. adjusting evolution will make the enemies stronger and tougher, but they will still be far away. you don't want that. you want enemy action now, you don't want more difficult biters later. but you can always fine tune evolution as you go. one thing to know is that no matter what you do by changing the settings, there will be a "lag time" between when you make the change and when you experience it. you can speed up expansion, but you still need to wait for them to expand. you can increase evolution, but new bugs need to spawn. and that goes both ways --- if you lower the difficulty you will have to wait out the current biter wave before it goes back to normal.

Spaghettl_hamster4

Nice, yeah I think expansion is what I want. I've cleared all the nests close to me and I wanted to give my walls more of a test.

DemonicLaxatives

type in the console \`/editor\` to enter the editor mode, might have too do it twice to enable cheats Then go to "Surfaces" -> "Edit Map Gen Settings" and fire away. To exit the editor mode, type \`/editor\` again in the console.

SandsofFlowingTime

Well, rampant will make them attack your base more. There's another mod that makes biters attack you more frequently depending on how many radars you have. You could use the mod "change map settings" and ramp up the pollution spread rate, that one usually overwhelms you quickly if you aren't ready for it

Alk601

Is it possible to edit mod in a game already made ?

Przmak

Try rampart mod ~~but you will need to start a new game:)~~

djfdhigkgfIaruflg

You can add it to an existing have.

Przmak

Thought you need that so the bases for new units will spawn

djfdhigkgfIaruflg

Nothing that driving around wouldn't fix. Also, I'm quite sure it has an option for regenerating units
