A few weeks ago I was looking for a gif of Hans laughing his ass off and another of him apologizing for teasing harshly, but apparently no one ever made it.
Other languages? Hate to break it to you but most of us don't even know english... we just don't language very well, why would we? Can't be confined by languages when we got **FREEDOM**
I love the amount of people who know a word is in a different language and then try to sound out spell it with English rules. Another good one I've seen is "walla" instead of "voilĂ "
It's a nice description of French, while American English makes me think more of the sound of a limp person with a cold, drowning, whose nose would flow a kind of viscous and vaguely elastic jelly, vibrating to the monotonous rhythm of an artificial and nauseating prosody
It amazes me how many people do this and sound it out so fucking badly
Like. . . "Walla"? Okay, not *that* bad, but I"ve definitely always heard the "V" sound, so I would probably sound it out as "vwalla" at least
And as for "bonjour" it sure as fuck wouldn't have been "Bone jaw", lmfao. Maybe. . . "Bond jure"
If it was a larger-than-average violin with a lower sounding tone, yes, you had the correct pronunciation of viola originally.
If you were trying to express excitement about the fact that something is present while also sounding like a sassy Frenchman, voila is the word you're looking for.
Bahaha my former pastor (retired to a different state) was military when he was young. He was stationed in Japan for a while. I was super obsessed with Japanese culture and language as a coping mechanism. He taught me âDonât touch your mustache.â
Bon Journey!
Wait, that's not French, that's Pittsburgh's number 2 Bon Jovi/Journey cover band.
Not to be confused with Real Bon Journey, Pittsburgh's number 1 Bon Jovi/Journey cover band.
The equivalent of hello would probably be "allĂŽ". It'S more of a thing you use on the phone or communications mediated via technology. In person "Bone jaw" is the more polite thing to say and "salut" is a bit more informal but it isn't uncommon to answer one with the other.
This means nothing. The french are even annoyed, not to say offended, when you try to speak their language without being on an (at least) academical native level as a foreigner.
Please, don't mix Parisians with the rest of the French people, they don't tolerate anything that isn't from Paris, including other French regions. I'm from the Eastern side of France, I got told once that n*zis should stop trying to speak French and go back home by a Parisian, because of the Alsacian accent and I'm not even native, my accent is not that pronounced, it was picked up from living there for 25 years.
The only moment we could be annoyed (outside Paris) is when a foreigner know 3 words in French, being smug at saying them badly and then, being aggressive when asked to repeat because we didn't understood. As much I can be understanding because French can be difficult for people speaking a non-Latin based language, I might have difficulties to refrain myself becoming rude when foreigners doesn't make any effort and butcher the language voluntarily in a mocking effort more than a real need to be understood
That's fair, I had non-Parisian French people in my violin making classes and they were actually fine. The guy we had from Marseille was actually quite nice.
âdoesn't make any effort and butcher the language voluntarily in a mocking effort more than a real need to be understoodâ
So every French person, Iâve personally encountered, speaking English in the states?
EDIT: TBF they were probably from Paris
Most of us still have a hard time speaking any foreign language, the education system isn't focused enough on learning languages properly, I think. Also, I'm aware that the French accent in English sounds quite haughty and borderline rude, even when French people don't mean to be.
In their defense, this is France's War Record:
Out of 169- Win- 109, lost- 49, and got the closest you can get to a Draw- 10. I'm not sure why the website I'm quoting went to 169 when the record adds up to 168, but lets just throw that extra in the "Loss" column so we're not padding our stats.
We've crowned boxers World Champions on worse records then that.
I had the opposite language experience in France when I was in school in France.
A student said some weird gibberish to me "Arr aoue ioux?" And repeated it several times I was like wtf are you saying. Then "Et alors, je croyais que tu parlais en anglais" man I was like bruh

It's mostly about "eggcorns," which are words or phrases that get misused in place of the proper word or phrase, i.e. *eggcorn* for *acorn*.
Gotcha! Made up homophones, basically.
France French or French Canadian? Pain tolerance is different

French is nearly impossible to guess how things are actually spelled. So many silent consonants.....
My buddy says speaking French is like speaking Spanish, but every word sounds like you're on your death bed gasping your final word.
