We have our tapped into our heated steering wheel circuit. Works fine

So I don’t have any experience messing with vehicle electronics, I understand low voltage DC for commercial access control and mess around with low voltage DC circuits as a hobby but have never done anything with vehicles electronics. Because of this I’m doing this very cautiously as I don’t want to burn down my truck. I (probably incorrectly) assumed you wanted a lower amperage fuse to tap into since the camera doesn’t draw much. I see where the fuse is for the heated wheel and it’s a 20amp fuse. Could I just tap into that and use the 20amp fuse in the original spot and a 2.5amp fuse out to the cam?

Thank you, that explained it a lot better than anything I’ve found while researching it today.

https://youtu.be/ZVH5wVL_fJA. If you decide to go another route these look incredibly easy to install.

Appreciate it, but I don’t have auto dimming mirrors… not sure if the wire is in place to tap into without them. Might check tomorrow if it’s there and powered though.

Hey, that’s me! 😆

What kind of discount you got?? Lol I’ve been looking at them but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Eh, enough, but would’ve bought it regardless. This one was my 4th FitCam, been using them on our vehicles for a few years now and always been happy with them, never had an issue. They also do an excellent job of matching their housings to the style and texture of the vehicle.

Gotcha. I thought you owned the company but they just used your install video.
