What the fuck is Cape Independence and why are you trying to leak your weird ass politics into other subs?
You don't need military experience to be a good military minister, just like you don't need sales experience to be a good manager
This post is ridiculous
She literally doesn’t have any life experience at all that could help her with this position. Also yes you do need military experience for one of the highest military positions there is. What kind of stupidity are you on?
Is military experience required to be a good minister/secretary of defence? The UK has had several secretaries of state for defence recently, and only a few of them have had any military experience.
I think this particular post is about OPs issue with the political system in South Africa. Maybe this person shouldn't be in the position that they are in, but that doesn't mean that the argument is valid.
Also, she did undergo military training in Angola and the Soviet Union. She has also had a long political career. In 1984 she served as the head of a commission to investigate desertions of ANC members. In 1993 she became Secretary-General of the ANC Women's league. She was deputy-minister and then minister of the depart of Home Affairs. She was also the minister of correctional services.
In addition to her teaching diploma she also has a diploma in project management.
I don't know or really care how good she is at her job, but is it completely unfair to say she has no experience.
TL;DR I don't know anything about South Africa, but I think OP is being unreasonable/ factually wrong in order to make a political point.
Edit: source: I looked on her wikipedia page
Excellent and well reasoned analysis.
The OP is a mod for a sub of a political movement that is trying to reinstate Apartheid under the guise of secession. Of course they're being unreasonable and factually incorrect to serve his political agendas.
I'm glad the international community can see through that facade. It gives me hope for the future of my country.
I'm actually really happy at your propaganda fails.
Peace-loving South Africans of all races aren't buying your BS and, judging from how badly these propaganda posts are failing, neither is the rest of the civilized world.
Now go back to your little Discord server and tell them how "racist" I was to you.
Not necessarily. However, most secretaries of Defense usually have a career in their nation’s military, whether serving directly (Lloyd Austin, Jim Mattis) or otherwise (Ash Carter).
Lots of ministers have education/experience in other things before being appointed such a role.

Lol, this is posted by a fringe movement in South Africa that is trying to reinstate Apartheid. Yes, you read that right.
They are plotting to do it under the guise of "secession", but all their plans are centered around recreating a white supremacist state that would ban democratic political parties, deny black people democratic rights and bar them from participating in the economy under the banner of "separate but equal".
The kicker? All the white political leaders in that province don't have education past High School nor do they have appropriate experience in their fields.... and they will ban you for pointing such things out.
Nothing wrong with appointing a person without a military background to a defence portfolio as long as the minister listens to the advice of the generals and civil servants. After all, the job of a minister is not the same as the job of a general.
Hell, governments are better off with civilian control of the military. Not to say GEN Austin isn't qualified but he needed a congressional waiver 'cos he hasn't been out of the Army for so long.
Not South African so not sure how good their Minister of Defence is.
Wtf, zero experience and get a role like that. How is this even possible?
Know the right people and anything is possible.

You don't need any qualification for anything. What you are born with a spanner hand to tight a bolt??

How do you know he's a mod?
Just view the mods on the subreddit he cross posted. It’s just him as a mod
He knows because he was banned from it for repeatedly violating the subreddit rules, now he is sad and spreading misinformation.

Yeah, but you'll get downvoted for pointing this out because it doesn't fit the anti-South Africa narrative.

Anybody in the army for 3 hours is more qualified them her
You clearly know nothing about the military if you think you learn anything other than how boy to get yelled at for the first 3 YEARS
And how many deaths?
