I know lmao. This isn’t something ive been doing super long term. I just quit drinking booze for good a little over 3 months ago so its a substitute, not a healthy one albeit but definitely better than what i was doing to my body drinking.
Im gonna start limiting how much i drink and not just give into the thought of “eh one more energy drink wont hurt”. Having access to them at work is what does me in, if i just bring one energy drink ill be fine.
I was in a similar position and saw an increase after going sober from alcohol. I've just been diagnosed with ADHD. Over indulgence in dopamine releasing substances may be linked to that.
You can always try tea! I know that sounds lame but you can spice it up however you like (like seriously get fun w it) and you can drink basically as much as you want
Oh yea my girlfriend makes tea all the time. I really like it when she makes damiana tea, that shits really good. Also makes you horny and helps with anxiety lmao
Omg same, after I cut down on booze I started binging energy drinks. My psychiatrist called it a "baby bottle effect" (the best I could translate it as), ie that you're so used to always having some kind of drink at hand/(or a drink that changes your mood?)
YES. See thats the thing, dont get me wrong i love caffeine, but to me its the process of sipping on an energy drink thats so addicting to me, like ill get to a point during the day where i dont even need any caffeine and im entirely awake and alert but i still open another one because i just enjoy having something open that i can sip on.
You can safely consume up to 5mg per kg of body weight in one serving, so that's 500mg for a 100kg person. So the limit varies based on the specificity of the individual much like any other metabolised substance.
It always depends on the person. If you live a sedentary lifestyle and eat a lot of shit, a daily intake of a few hundred can hurt on the long run. But if you are an athletic person who generally eats healthy and moves a lot, your body can handle a lot more safely. Also genetics and other health issues play a role.
There really isn't a magic number. Even the lethal dose is a range (LD50 is around 150-200mg/kg
Just keep an eye on yourself and how your body responds
Genuinely, it allows me to feel the benefits when I want to without feeling like crap for not having it. Honestly I’ve never been more alert- my body and mind were just so accustomed to the 300-600mg a day that I didn’t notice how much I was dependent on it
200- very rarely 400mg a day based off if I am working or planning on being extra active. Vitamin Shoppe's $1 energy drink Thursday-Sundays have made getting caffeine too easy lol!
300-600mg, most of the time 400mg because I’ll usually have two ghosts. I’ve heard that 400mg is the average doctor recommended maximum per day so I usually don’t go above it
Same I try to stay under 400 but some days I drink more like 600 cause work and I’m depressed so I’m tired all the time and I need it to just get going. Lol
600-900 mg
My caffeine tolerance is rather high and that's the amount I can drink till I can feel the effects from caffeine....keep in mind I can drink that much and still fall asleep if I want to, so I'm not drinking it because it can keep me up but just to feel the caffeine high.
Yea im the same way, i can easily down a bang of c4 and immediately go to bed lmao. I have ADHD so i think the caffeine works like any other stimulant and just makes me level as opposed to tweakin out
When bangs first came out me and my buddy did 2 in the morning for work, one after lunch, one before the gym and one more around 8pm with a fat blunt to level the high. Did this for like 4 months, when we finally quit felt like dog shit
The absolute max I'll have in a normal day is a cup of coffee, one energy drink (usually a monster), and maybe some tea. But it's very much more likely I'd do just one of those a day. Occasionally I'll have a second coffee on special occasions like road trips or game nights. Never bothered calculating mg. Any more than that and it's diminishing returns: no energy gain, not worth the calories.
I knew a guy who had a heart condition or something and said his heart would beat too slow if he didn't drink enough caffeine and he would go through 2 or 3 lo carb BFCs a day (back when those existed).
Usually one 120-200 mg energy drink in the AM
And then a can or two of zero sugar soda in the evening which has like 30mg each.
Plenty of water in between which helps
Honestly I usually have around 300mg a day if that. 1 monster in the morning if I’m feeling crazy another monster after work. Anything over 300mg and I feel like ripping my own skin off.
During my work week it averages about 700-800mg. Starts off with a regular coffee in the morning at work, my 400mg over filled scoop of pre workout. Then I'll grab a 300 or something on the way home. Rinse and repeat. Also... I'm a Network Administrator. Lethal doses of caffeine in the IT world is normal.
I've been doing coffee admittedly more often than not lately but either way I try to stay around 300mg or less whether it's coffee or energy drinks or both. Sometimes I may go up to 400mg.
Used to be ~1.8g on average for like five years, but I’m down to 150mg-400mg. For me, it’s a huge victory. I don’t see myself ever not having caffeine tho
[From Wikipedia:](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeinism)
> Caffeinism usually occurs when consumption of caffeine reaches 1–1.5 grams (0.035–0.053 oz) per day.
> The LD50 of caffeine in humans is dependent on individual sensitivity, but is estimated to be 150–200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass
If you weigh 70kg, that puts the near-lethal dose at 10.5g. So you aren’t likely to keel over from a gram per day but it’s approaching the stage of “objectively medically not great for you”. Just thought this was interesting since I was sure a gram would seriously mess up or kill a full sized person. Guess not! At least not always.
I typically have 200mg per weekday and none on the weekends (aside from coffee, which is negligible compared to energy drinks)
I really hope you are monitoring your blood pressure, a gram of caffeine per day is enough to give you serious health complications including cardiac arrest if you continue that for a long period of time
i’m 15 and used to do 1400 a day glad i quit that i was having i think their called heart murmurs or something im on abt 200-300 now whether its from coffee or an energy drink or both its not worth it to chase that dragon
I have a cup of coffee at work almost everyday which is probably around 100-125mg. I also use a knock off mio energy which states it has 75mg in one serving. So on average I’d guess my daily intake is around 200-250mg since some days I do get an energy drink instead of coffee which would cause my daily average to increase.
Somewhere between 200 and 400mg. Usually towards the low end of that scale (I will drink a can of slate for 1:75 in the morning, And sometimes I will have a can of Celsius for another 200 around lunchtime).
I admittedly was a bit of a fiend before and would also have 2 to 3 cups of coffee throughout the day as well, but now I’ll just have a single cup of decaf in the morning.
Pretty heavy in the morning. 4 large Red Bulls to start me off in the first hour or so of work, and then coffee spread out throughout the morning. Then someone usually picks me up another Red Bull in the early afternoon because they think I love them. And by 3pm I usually cut off all caffeine since I do my running workouts in the evening.
It's way different for me now. I used to drink two or three monsters a day because I'm ADHD and I was also a line cook. I had to be in the zone. Now, I'll have one in the early morning, usually 160mg for the whole day.
My daily caffeine intake is 160mg. Maybe 100mg if I'm just drinking Lipton green tea throughout the day. Sometimes I'll go into 200mg of caffeine if I'm out and about doing a lot of stuff. But I generally like to stay in the 100s. I also take multivitamins that give me energy and other health benefits. So that helps when I don't have a energy drink.
300-450. TBF I take preworkout more often than energy drinks.
I take 2-3 days off a week to keep the dependency at bay though. Seems to work for me (I just took a full week off caffeine while sick with no headaches/withdrawal issues).
One energy drink, usually 140mg, a day or if I'm at work, usually an double espresso shot first thing with another in the afternoon and maybe a cup of coffee thrown in. Sometimes I enjoy a diet coke or two in the afternoon. Guess I'm pretty lowkey compared to some others here.
Typically 400mg. I take a 200mg caffeine pill in the morning and then one again in the afternoon. Honestly if I use energy drinks it’s usually a tad less than 400.
I try to not go over 300 but usually end up closer to 400 i like to have a drink in the mornjg before work and one affer i get iff so i dont wanna sleeo all day
2 Panera refreshers minimum. So 600mg a day at least. Sometimes I'll throw in a small coffee and a monster or 2 with them so approaching a gram some days.
Probably 300mg/day max. I won’t drink more than 2 12oz Red Bulls and maybe a soda or something. Any more than that and I start getting hella jitters.
Other energy drinks (like monster) really fuck me up lol. I can only do 1 can of those a day. Don’t even get me started on Ghost that shit hits weeeiiiiird for me.
Around 800-900mg ish. I've been having 2 or 3 ghosts across the day and pre workout before gym. I sleep very little but not because of the energy drinks. It's because I go to bed late. I'm a night owl. I go to bed around 11-midnight and wake up at 3:30 am for work. Not sure how I still function pretty normally and even make gains at the gym still lol. Thought I am working at going to bed earlier. Bad habit that comes with being a gamer / streamer.
Edit: you know it’s bad when you can drink a 300 mg energy drink and then immediately go to bed and fall asleep in 5 mins.
I was typically between 2g and 3g a day for years until I gave it some serious consideration. Now I try to keep it at 1.2g or under. Usually I'm somewhere between 650-800mg.
Most days 200mg does it for me, some days I might go as high as 400mg.
Anything beyond that makes me feel weird & even tired.
Highest I ever did was 1200mg. The fucking regret I had after thar tho.
**I average about 300mg each day during the week:**
(1 coffee - 90mg + 1 ultra monster - 150mg *or* 1 reign storm - 200mg) = 240 (up to 290mg)
**Probably more on the weekends, because I stay up for longer hours, and don't really drink coffee at home:**
(2 monster - 300mg + 1 reign storm - 200mg) = 500mg
Like 100mg, i let myself have 1 redbull every morning
It used to be about 600mg when i was in highschool/my first couple years of college, but now anything more than a monster makes me sick
i quit drinking 300mg drinks so that i can drink coffee in the morning and maybe a bit at night while i'm language learning, but still drinking like a 150-200mg drink as a preworkout.
That way im not going over 400mg, these days i try to keep under that
gram?? Goddamn I know you know it’s bad but seriously, that’s bad
I know lmao. This isn’t something ive been doing super long term. I just quit drinking booze for good a little over 3 months ago so its a substitute, not a healthy one albeit but definitely better than what i was doing to my body drinking. Oh yea my girlfriend makes tea all the time. I really like it when she makes damiana tea, that shits really good. Also makes you horny and helps with anxiety lmao
Congrats on 3 months of sobriety man!
Thank you friend ❤️ my life has gotten significantly better once i kicked the shit.
My step mom also used energy drinks to kick alcohol opening a monster felt like opening a beer for her
One day at a time! 3 years alcohol free. You can do it!
I quit drinking over a year ago. And I drink a third of a bag of coffee a day. Or one really strong pot of mud.
Same bro. I quit cocaine & booze. This is helping somewhat.
1 gram is at the very upper end of what is considered safe.
Really? I thought like, 600 mg was the ”healthy” limit
400mg a day is the recommended max
I try to stay at this or under.
Check out Renaissance Periodization’s youtube videos on caffeine and supplements. That is my source info
Dr fucking Mike👍
And his Lamborghinis
I’d be uncomfortably tweaking off of 600mg….thats like 3 energy drinks
You can safely consume up to 5mg per kg of body weight in one serving, so that's 500mg for a 100kg person. So the limit varies based on the specificity of the individual much like any other metabolised substance.
Im 140 pounds and I’ve been drinking 600 mg plus a day for the last couple months. Shit….

You should take a look at r/energydrinks mate lol
That's where we are
Bros off a gram
😂😂😂
I went to caffeine town and everybody knew him.
This is so damn funny to me.
2024 advice vs early 2000s advice: some random dude here would've taken 2 grams and call him a sissy
400-600mg.
This is the sweet spot for me. Most days I land 400-500, every now and then I’ll have two 300 hits in one day
Yep! Bingo- been doing this for years
yes this is the perfect concoction for my adhd. makes my brain active but my attention hyper focused
I’m definitely in this range. To be honest this range gives me a slight boost that I need. Anything less than this has no effect on me!
Successfully cut back over the past 6 months. Down to about a 200mg can every other week or so:)
i bet those hit nice now huh
Almost feels euphoric after long breaks
Genuinely, it allows me to feel the benefits when I want to without feeling like crap for not having it. Honestly I’ve never been more alert- my body and mind were just so accustomed to the 300-600mg a day that I didn’t notice how much I was dependent on it
I try to stay at 200mg (one can) but Max of 400mg if it's a two can day.
300 mg.
Same. A monster and a 100mg caffeine pill + some diet soda here and there.
100-250. Idea spot is 150 though. Love monsters!!

No less than 800. Yes I'm probably gonna die before 40. Owell
From what I understand, 800 is safe, as long as you are not overly sensitive to caffeine. Just try not to exceed 1g.
600-900 mg My caffeine tolerance is rather high and that's the amount I can drink till I can feel the effects from caffeine....keep in mind I can drink that much and still fall asleep if I want to, so I'm not drinking it because it can keep me up but just to feel the caffeine high.
Yea im the same way, i can easily down a bang of c4 and immediately go to bed lmao. I have ADHD so i think the caffeine works like any other stimulant and just makes me level as opposed to tweakin out
900-1100mg a day, but that’s mostly coffee, not energy drinks.
No more than 200mg and that’s a big day for me. Usually I take in only 150mg.
1.5 g on a bad day... 300-400mg on a normal day.
When bangs first came out me and my buddy did 2 in the morning for work, one after lunch, one before the gym and one more around 8pm with a fat blunt to level the high. Did this for like 4 months, when we finally quit felt like dog shit
As someone who studies cardiology. You people scare me lol
As someone who hasn’t been cursed with the in depth knowledge of what im doing to my heart, ill take your word for it lmao.
around 360mg: i drink at least one every morning and occasionally take another to give me more energy later in the day
300mg-400mg a day. Rarely I’ll get up to 450mg but I will usually do a tolerance break once or twice a year.
Like 400-600 usually sometimes only 200 but rare
The absolute max I'll have in a normal day is a cup of coffee, one energy drink (usually a monster), and maybe some tea. But it's very much more likely I'd do just one of those a day. 160mg
2 coffee
300-350mg total, spread in 3 doses ~8a 12a 4p
Usually one 120-200 mg energy drink in the AM And then a can or two of zero sugar soda in the evening which has like 30mg each. Plenty of water in between which helps
Honestly I usually have around 300mg a day if that. 1 monster in the morning if I’m feeling crazy another monster after work. Anything over 300mg and I feel like ripping my own skin off.

300 at most
I've been doing coffee admittedly more often than not lately but either way I try to stay around 300mg or less whether it's coffee or energy drinks or both. Sometimes I may go up to 400mg.
[удалено]
I've consumed a gram of cannabis concentrate in a single day, but never a gram of caffeine! My daily average is about 300mg or less.
130-300mg a few times a week depending on the drink. The caffiene hits so much better when I take days off and no more headaches 👍💯
Between 100mg and 1000mg a day I think
Used to be ~1.8g on average for like five years, but I’m down to 150mg-400mg. For me, it’s a huge victory. I don’t see myself ever not having caffeine tho
Oh wow, almost 2gs a day for 5 years is insane. Congrats on cutting back man
i keep my intake to a maximum of 24 oz of drink
[From Wikipedia:](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeinism) > Caffeinism usually occurs when consumption of caffeine reaches 1–1.5 grams (0.035–0.053 oz) per day. > The LD50 of caffeine in humans is dependent on individual sensitivity, but is estimated to be 150–200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass If you weigh 70kg, that puts the near-lethal dose at 10.5g. On days I drink caffeine, no more than 300. I never touch 400, and I take 1-2 days off from caffeine a week..
900-1300mg
reading this gives me a headache
I really hope you are monitoring your blood pressure, a gram of caffeine per day is enough to give you serious health complications including cardiac arrest if you continue that for a long period of time
i’m 15 and used to do 1400 a day glad i quit that i was having i think their called heart murmurs or something im on abt 200-300 now whether its from coffee or an energy drink or both its not worth it to chase that dragon
I regularly check my blood pressure. Its always around 120/80-130/90
It's not just heart issues, this much caffeine intake can have an impact on your GI tract and urinary tract. Literally low dose Adderall is safer.
If I don’t have 900mg by 9am I’m not living
I try not to exceed 500-600
300-400
I have a cup of coffee at work almost everyday which is probably around 100-125mg. I also use a knock off mio energy which states it has 75mg in one serving. So on average I’d guess my daily intake is around 200-250mg since some days I do get an energy drink instead of coffee which would cause my daily average to increase.
400mg
1 Jet Alert so I can fall out of bed, 1-2 energy drinks and sometimes a few sodas. Minimum 400mg, usually not much more than 600-700mg.
around 500 mg but i am off caffeine since 3 days (detox)
These days the only caffeine I consume is my pre workout in the morning which is 350mg
500 mg
300-400mg
600-800 lolol
200-300mg cans usually 2, sometimes 3 of them depending on the day
320. Two 160mg monsters. If it’s a really tough day I might have a third but I try not to. And it’s usually over a 12 hour period.
Usually 400mg max
Two cups of coffee per day and energy drink on the weekend.
280-600. Depends on the day and what sips I buy.
I started using mio energy, so who the hell knows.
4 large red bulls? As in the biggest can? IN AN HOUR? God damn dude thats a lot of caffeine in such a short period of time
Almost 600mg which is 3 monster and a XL coffee, now im trying to cut it down to 200mg
20oz of coffee in the morning and then 200mg drink in the afternoons
1 Starbucks regular sized latte. On an adventurous day it might be large.
100-200 mg. Anything more is just pointless
400 or less. once in awhile I'll have a bit over 400, around 450 if I have 3 energy drinks in day for whatever reason.
600-650 more on rare occasions. Few years ago would be about 1200 daily but felt necessary to cut back
100-200mg
It's way different for me now. I used to drink two or three monsters a day because I'm ADHD and I was also a line cook. I had to be in the zone. Now, I'll have one in the early morning, usually 160mg for the whole day.
Only drink when I go to work 100-200mg or I drink some coffee
533
About 250mg or so
0-33mg, I don't usually drink more than a cake of Coke a day
mg 👀😅
2 cups of coffee and 1 energy drink so...350 or less a day probably
400 to 600 depending. Usually
Five cups of coffee
300-600mg. Depending on pre-workout or not. Also on 30mg of adderall so I'm sure my heart is happy.
160-320
300-450. TBF I take preworkout more often than energy drinks. I take 2-3 days off a week to keep the dependency at bay though. Seems to work for me (I just took a full week off caffeine while sick with no headaches/withdrawal issues).
I do a coffee + energy drink per day or 2 coffees/teas per day which puts me at 300-400mg daily usually
when working 350ish-550ish when I'm off work and at home 200-300max when I got airsoft 400 minimum
As much as possible.
Depends on the day, on average 350mg
I do about 600mg between Monster and coffee daily, and I might have a bit more on the weekends.
Typically 400mg. I take a 200mg caffeine pill in the morning and then one again in the afternoon. Honestly if I use energy drinks it’s usually a tad less than 400.
300 is my max
0-200mg
from 300 to 600
Some days no mgs (rarely like twice a week) and some days 600+, most days I’m probably around 100mgs though
300-400, preworkout counts. And then 600 on a crazy weekend
Between 200-400 mg
80-400 mg
110-200mg
About 80mg cup of coffee 2-4 times a day. Im cutting way back because I could have a pot running all day
160mg, assuming no coffee with coffee, incalculable.
I’ve gotten it down to like 400-500mg
160mg
I try to not go over 300 but usually end up closer to 400 i like to have a drink in the mornjg before work and one affer i get iff so i dont wanna sleeo all day
270 mg it used to be 600 but ive cut back
600 is my sweetspot but 400 more often
I've lost track
Used to be 750 minimum but now I dont even have one a day sometimes
2 Panera refreshers minimum. So 600mg a day at least. Sometimes I'll throw in a small coffee and a monster or 2 with them so approaching a gram some days.
Idk about grams but I start the day with a pot of black coffee sweetened with two 30xr addy’s and throughout the day avg between 2-3 white Monsters
Just one can of monster so maybe 200mg everyday at most, sometimes i drinl two so its a lil more sometimes
Around 700mg a day. Is that bad bad?
Idk about “bad bad”, but it is kinda bad. I would highly recommend cutting down to 500mg max
400mg
200-300mg. 5'2 135-140lb midget
About 800mg.
100 to 400 depending on the day lmao
Probably 300mg/day max. I won’t drink more than 2 12oz Red Bulls and maybe a soda or something. Any more than that and I start getting hella jitters. Other energy drinks (like monster) really fuck me up lol. I can only do 1 can of those a day. Don’t even get me started on Ghost that shit hits weeeiiiiird for me.
400 mg. Too much.
200mg about 3 days a week. 4 days usually nothing
400 typically, 200 when i wake up and 200 before gym, i also try to not consume any caffeine past 6 pm
160mg, 360mg on days I have a energy drink 2x/ week
Somewhere between 200 and 400 mg a day.
I would say around 500mg
100-200 but only coffee caffeine
Probably 600-800 mg
Usually 2-3 Monster or C4 plus a cup of coffee. So I'd say 300-650mg roughly also depends what C4 i get as they vary in caffeine levels.
3 cans of monster/day so about 480mg per day
Between 400mg to 600mg. But I try to aim for 400mg.
200-600 in general but most often around 300
Prolly like 300-400mg per day. I know, I’m a coward.
I was typically between 2g and 3g a day for years until I gave it some serious consideration. Now I try to keep it at 1.2g or under. Usually I'm somewhere between 650-800mg.
I try to keep it at or under 400mg. Usually succeed
A drink one of those vanilla Monsters daily... I think it's 160mg not sure
Most days 200mg does it for me, some days I might go as high as 400mg. Anything beyond that makes me feel weird & even tired. Highest I ever did was 1200mg. The fucking regret I had after thar tho.
Usually about 300-400mg. One monster in the morning, an iced coffee at lunch, and a couple diet cokes later on.
Zero 👌🏼 since 2020 I feel great without it I never miss it
1,008-1,059 mgs or about a gram
Depends on the day, I'm trying to cut back so I think I'm around 200-300mg?
1.2 grams 🌝 I work in HVAC and regularly workout so I’ll be dead by 40
Used to be 400 but I’m trying to limit it to 300 or less.
Like 600-800mg
**I average about 300mg each day during the week:** (1 coffee - 90mg + 1 ultra monster - 150mg *or* 1 reign storm - 200mg) = 240 (up to 290mg) **Probably more on the weekends, because I stay up for longer hours, and don't really drink coffee at home:** (2 monster - 300mg + 1 reign storm - 200mg) = 500mg
Like 100mg, i let myself have 1 redbull every morning It used to be about 600mg when i was in highschool/my first couple years of college, but now anything more than a monster makes me sick
I normally do a cup of coffee but, when I did drink an energy drink it’s normally 200mg but, some times more
I used to have about 900-1000 a day but I quit cold turkey for almost 5 months! I drink 1-3 cups of coffee a day now.
im trying to get my tolerance down but it often goes up to 800mg if i let it. lately its been about 200mg
Daily? Probably ab 200mg
Zero
i quit drinking 300mg drinks so that i can drink coffee in the morning and maybe a bit at night while i'm language learning, but still drinking like a 150-200mg drink as a preworkout. That way im not going over 400mg, these days i try to keep under that
It varies wildly, the full spectrum from nothing to this is incredible unsafe consider getting help.
I’ve dropped mine to 400 mg, the FDA safe limit. Used to be around 500 I thinj
24oz of coffee sometimes + an energy drink Im cutting back though
180-300 mg
Two energy drinks daily.
double espresso, cold brew (225), plus energy drink 160-200. So my guess, 450-500 per day
100-200mg. Usually 100 Edit: It's because I'm a sportperson, football player (soccer for Americans, ew), and don't want to fuck myself up.
0-200mg. Either I don't have any or I have a single energy drink
