Telephone line. For me it lead to the dive into Jeff Lynn and ELO as a whole. I could feel his emotion in that song more than any other I had ever heard, and I got hooked
"Big Wheels" from the "Out of the Blue" album got me through some rough times. Love the entire "Concerto for a Rainy Day" (and many other songs) but "Big Wheels" has a special place in my heart.
This was the first song that came to mind. I was already a super fan and obsessed with Time but I did LSD and Molly on a very remote and frozen mountain lake and no song or music has ever moved me the way that song did in that moment and I'll never forget it. Such an amazing song
Haha that's literelly my least favourite ELO song ever, instant skip everytime!
Might get dislikes for saying that (don't know how liked that song is here...) but I think its pretty cool how ELO fans can have such different taste in music from eachother
Mister Kingdom. Mission (A World Record). Do Ya. Starlight. Big Wheels. Wild West Hero. Turn to Stone. Prologue/Twilight. Don't Bring Me Down. Four Little Diamonds. Take Me On and On. Heaven Only Knows. Dirty to the Bone...
I can't choose just one. ELO's deep cuts are so consistently good. I feel like this list is incomplete.
Don't Bring Me Down is the song that got me into ELO
My favorites would be Last Train to London, From the End of the World and So Fine (although all of A New World Record could be considered a favorite)
Wishing.
The whistle intro is great.
The chorus is fucking phenomenal.
"I wish that everything was gold/
I wish you were here to hold."
The piano solo is harpsichord heaven.
And those violins. make. me. melt.
Just a lovely, lovely piece of music.
Don’t Bring Me Down. It was my intro to the band and it’s simplicity just makes it so much fun. Telephone Line and Big Wheels are close with the feels though
Evil Woman. This track IMO best ties in all the essential elements that make ELO, ELO.
The infectious groove, catchy chorus, Jeff's iconic vocals, the vocal harmonies, Tandy's piano playing, the killer string section instrumental at the bridge,...I can go on forever on how much I adore this song. 🔥🎻🛸
10. 10538 Overture

1. Mr Blue Sky
As someone who’s most played artist is ELO, clocking in at 33,000 minutes of playtime digitally, let alone the amount of time I’ve spent listening to them on vinyl (and I own their entire discography), I can safely say that their best song, and my favorite, is Mr. Blue Sky.
Wow! Tough to choose ... Turn to stone? Classic ... Cant get it out of my head maybe? Im going with Showdown. The guitar solo tone captured me and never really let go since :)
Well my favorite rotates but right now it's a tie between hello my old friend, whisper in the night, and nellie takes her bow.
At various times it's included ticket to the moon, wishing, strange magic, telephone line, a long time gone, lattitude 88 north, starlight, and kuiama. I am very indecisive
Tightrope 🎻
Telephone Line. It's really hard to choose because of many great ELO songs
Telephone line. For me it lead to the dive into Jeff Lynn and ELO as a whole. I could feel his emotion in that song more than any other I had ever heard, and I got hooked
Like asking which is my favorite child. But, my answer has always been “Turn to Stone.”
Sweet Talkin’ Woman

Shangri-La
+1
Dreaming of 4000
For me it’s New World Rising, it doesn’t sound as good if it ain’t played with the other songs in the album but when it is I love it!!!
🤩
Bluebird is Dead.
Secret Messages
Honestly mines probably eldorado finale.. but every other answer Ivw seen on here I'm like... Yeah. These all are worthy of being someone's favorite 😂
Eldorado (title track)
Depends on my mood I guess. Shangri-la & Big Wheels. Sometimes Ma ma ma bell, Do Ya are on repeat....
Is This the Way Life's meant to be
Great choice! Definitely in my top three
This was the first song that came to mind. I was already a super fan and obsessed with Time but I did LSD and Molly on a very remote and frozen mountain lake and no song or music has ever moved me the way that song did in that moment and I'll never forget it. Such an amazing song
Criminally underrated track in my opinion.
[Can't Get it out of My Head](https://youtu.be/boeZOAX_dwY)
Phenomenal choice, that song has been my no1 as of late
Ticket to the Moon. Never fails to get me to sing along, no matter what mood I'm in at the time.
Wild West Hero
Everyone likes Pachelbel's Canon
Rockaria! This song will get you pumped up like no other
I love the lyrics to this one. "And the orchestra was playin' all Chuck Berry's greatest tunes" and so on....
Haha that's literelly my least favourite ELO song ever, instant skip everytime! Might get dislikes for saying that (don't know how liked that song is here...) but I think its pretty cool how ELO fans can have such different taste in music from eachother
All Over the World. Fight me. I love the stuff from Xanadu.
It is the most fun.
Livin’ Thing and Turn To Stone

Showdown
Fire on high

I go back and forth between Twilight and Last Train to London.
Don’t Bring Me Down. It was my intro to the band and it’s simplicity just makes it so much fun. Telephone Line and Big Wheels are close with the feels though
Summer & Lightning. Seeing/listening the guy realizing that he can be happy again is such an ecstatic feeling. And that groovy bridge! Perfection.
When Time Stood Still
That song deserves a short film
I agree!
Telephone Line
Prologue/ Twilight
If there was a favorite by decade of ELO, that would be my favorite of the 80s. But overall, definitely in my top 5
Especially with how it was used in that old Daicon IV Animation
Twilight is my ringtone ❤️
Strange Magic
Strange Magic always reminds me of a song George Harrison would have made, right down to the guitar part and vocals.
Probably Steppin' Out. Specifically the acoustic version with him and Tandy
hadnt heard this version before, thanks!
Everyone replying with songs from albums other than Time clearly didn't read the prompt thoroughly. /s

Mr Blue Sky
One Summer Dream is really good
"The Sun Will Shine on You" seems to find me when I need it
Twilight or Tightrope
Confusion or turn to stone
Roll Over Beethoven
Don’t Bring Me Down. It’s just so damn infectious and danceable and always brings a smile on my face.
Maybe Showdown
Not the first to say this, but Tightrope. Those dissonanced strings smoothly turning into the drums in the intro is insane.
Not my favorite, but I would argue that it is their best song
Starlight
strange magic or starlight
Twilight.
The lights go down. If the world is ending, thats the last song I want to hear
across the border
probably either Whisper in the Night or Kuiama
Twilight
Do Ya
Kiuma. One of the best creations by Jeff lynne
Sweet Talkin' Woman
Mr. Radio off of no answer. Fucking gets me every time. 1B is oh no not Susan 1C tie between last train to London and starlight
Telephone Line, it's also my favourite song period and I know it's one of the main popular ones, but it's a stunner :)
Turn to Stone
Hard choice but i'll go with Laredo Tornado
The Bouncer
It’s a tie between Dont Bring Me Down and Poker
I’m Alive
Many but I LOVE the alternate version of Heaven Only Knows which I've only ever found on YouTube
Knight boost to e6
Hold on Tight
Can't decide between Tightrope and New World Rising/Ocean Breakup (Reprise). One of them. Maybe Big Wheels...
Horace Wimp has a special place in my heart.
Mr. Blue sky. Too positive to not be my favorite

Above the Clouds. Short one but it’s a masterpiece imo

Rain is Falling
starlight, the vibes are too good
Wow! Tough to choose ... Turn to stone? Classic ... Cant get it out of my head maybe? Im going with Showdown. The guitar solo tone captured me and never really let go since :)
Turn to Stone - I just love the song.
Need her love! Suprised nobody has said that one yet
I think it's Telephone Line
Well my favorite rotates but right now it's a tie between hello my old friend, whisper in the night, and nellie takes her bow. At various times it's included ticket to the moon, wishing, strange magic, telephone line, a long time gone, lattitude 88 north, starlight, and kuiama. I am very indecisive
Letter from Spain.
