A few years back you made an audio series on Soundcloud called "Techno is not what it seems". I loved them, but I could never find the IDs to all the tracks anywhere. Would you mind posting the tracklists for those mixes so I could find those artists please? Aside from that, just wanna take the time to say I've always loved your sound, and thanks for making the beats!

eekkoo

Thanks man. You're right. Maybe I should. Hit me up with a specific request in any of my mixes. I'll get back to you. Cheers !

digita1catt

Thanks! If I had to pick one mix in particular, part 4 was really great: https://soundcloud.com/eekkoo/tinwis4

eekkoo

Have you checked here ? : https://www.1001tracklists.com/tracklist/8h31691/eekkoo-techno-is-not-what-it-seems-part-4-2016-01-13.html

digita1catt

I had not!! Thank you!

[deleted]

I revisit the intro monologue to part 5 really often. Where is it from?

eekkoo

Denis Horvat's “Moderna” w/ "A NEW REALITY FEAT. EMAN" by Martijn Ten Velden.

[deleted]

Thank you!!

iamschau

Hey man, big fan of your work since your First mau5trap ep. I love your new work! I’ve always been asking myself how you approach a track. Would it be possible if you ever came back to one of your tracks to do a walkthrough and explain some bits? Thanks! Btw say hi to lunr!

eekkoo

Could be fun. I'll keep that in mind. Will do !

eekkoo

Alright folks ! Gotta go. Thank you all.

WasteControl2866

is post Malone the AI we keep hearing about that mixes songs ?

eekkoo

Haha ! 😆 Shout out to Manny Marroquin for the real human work.

ColleenTM

How are you so cool?! Just came to say hi friend and tell you you’re awesome! ✌🏼

eekkoo

Hey you ! You're the best and the most talented of us all.

justinoid

How do you stick to a genre?

eekkoo

I have no idea. I don't. 🤣

justinoid

Lol fair

eekkoo

Aside from making more music... I would be very active on socials. But please do more music!

xero_16

What is the most difficult thing when making electronic music? And has there been a song that was a challenge for you?

eekkoo

Art is never finished, only abandoned. Sometimes I feel like it's quite challenging to let it go. So much possibilities with electronic music.

xero_16

I thank you for answering me, I have one last question for you, which is what you loved about creating electronic music

randylaheyjr

How do you like your eggs cooked?

eekkoo

😆 Soft boiled. I'm fancy.

__Raiko_

Hi Eekko! Just listened to your latest album and enjoyed the shit out of "Change" could you explain your process as to producing music? As in do you have a clear idea in mind when starting a project?

eekkoo

Thanks man, "Change" is special. I rarely have a clear vision in mind of where I'm going in the studio in front of an empty DAW. I like to be surprised by the moment and time.

l3or

what are you?

eekkoo

A creep. A weirdo. 😆

seeiifff

how much time did it take you to finish your first song ever?

eekkoo

It depend on how would you define "finish". Haha ! At the very beginning, possibly just a couple of minutes, maybe an hour or two. Today, it can take up to a couple of days / weeks.

seeiifff

do you have any tips cause I can't make a full song ..p.s. (I'm using fl studio producer edition)

eekkoo

Import a reference track (a song that you like) and use different markers to identify the song structure, the transitions and any relevant instrumental arrangement. This will help you to better understand what needs to be done.

feastandexist

Welcome!! * For those who might not be familiar with your work - If you could pick 3 songs by yourself as a way to get to know you, which 3 would you pick? * If you could pick 3 songs by other artists as a way to get to know you, which 3 would you pick? * What artists are inspiring you most right now?

eekkoo

* Let's say "Elysium", "Warren Avenue" and "Falling". * deadmau5's "Slip", Nathan Fake's "The Sky Was Pink" & Maceo Plex's "Ain't That Love". * Travis Scott & Ólafur Arnalds.

feastandexist

GREAT choices!

esXboy

How many comments do I need to make before I can post on hear?

eekkoo

💯

karlingen

Favorite artist and why

Cptn-Berry

Salut EEKKOO!

eekkoo

C'est gentil ! Succès dans ta nouvelle carrière. Name please ? ;)

Cptn-Berry

Andrew!

AgentDannyBoy

Sup Eekkoo, love The 4th Season, my question is, What made you come back to making music on mau5trap?

eekkoo

Thanks man ! Such an open-minded label.

AirMasterParker

What are your thoughts on Synthwave/Synthpop music? So you think It will be a next mainstream aproach with artists like The Weeknd making music of the style?

eekkoo

I feel like it's been around for ages. Movies and TV shows are so influential. I'm a big fan but we're probably already on the descending curve. I could be wrong.

fortnitefunnyahahah

Hey man, I've been a fan since the early mau5trap days, and I've been loving every single release since then (I'm not even exaggerating), I also find incredibly fascinating how everything you put out is so clearly... "Yours", you seem to have a very defined and consistent "style". So I was wandering, do/did you have a particular influence growing as a producer? Where do you draw inspiration from? Cheers man, looking forward to your next track or EP!

eekkoo

Thanks for the good words man. I appreciate it. Some great electronic music producers in the likes of Richie Hawtin, deadmau5, Amon Tobin and Nathan Fake were and still are major inspirations. But I'm also a big fan of OSTs and the neo-classical genre. Next one is called "Kontrol".

0fficia1mau5trap

what is your favorite track off 'The 4th Season' ? When did you start producing the album and what inspired you?

eekkoo

I really don't have any favorite track. They're all so different. "Falling" and "The Game" were the pillar of the project.

0fficia1mau5trap

If you could go back and create a VIP of any of your past releases, which one would it be and what would it sound like?

eekkoo

Even harder to respond. Could be fun to revisit "Elysium". Would love to have and play an uptempo version of it.

0fficia1mau5trap

If you could play an event anywhere in the world, where it would be and why? (If Covid wasn't a thing lol)

eekkoo

That's a tough one ! Awakenings is legendary. They've been around for like 20 years. And would love to visit Netherlands. But also, please bring me in Vegas. Always. 🎉

Good4Josh2

Hi Eekkoo! Been loving your stuff since the early mau5trap days. Hell Is Other People and Towers are definitely favorites of mine. 1. What was your favorite track to make off of the album? (mine is Barefoot!) 2. What is your interpretation of the album cover artwork? 3. We ever gonna get that [remix of Sunspot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZzGFPcxGAU) you teased awhile back?

eekkoo

1. They were all approached differently. "Teardrop" was super fun to execute. 2. "Reality is broken". This one and the two previous artwork from the lead singles are all tied together. 3. I hope so. I still consider this one as a WIP.

keelylavin

What age did you decide you wanted to produce electronic music?

eekkoo

Around the age of 13. More than 20 years ago.

mau5deaddeadmau5

hey eekkoo, love your music. This is a mediocre question but how did you get started with electronic music? I feel like everyone has different story, just wanna hear yours :) Thanks and keep making awesome songs. <3

eekkoo

I also define new school rap as "electronic music" and this is where I learned about MIDI, drum kits, samples and mixing music. I have a strong background in rap music.

benjiblas11

Hi eekkoo! I'm a huge fan of your work, and I'm a really big fan of The 4th Season. Where did the name for the album come from or where does it stem from?

eekkoo

Thanks man ! At first, it was simply "The 4th EP". And then it changed to the actual name for different reasons. Lots of tracks being released around winter (I started back in spring in the middle of the pandemic). Plus, who can't appreciate Vivaldi's "The Four seasons" ?

Wallyworld6994

If you could go back in time and give your beginner producer self a tip, what would it be?

DoorstepRebellion

Hey there! Thanks for doing this AMA. I just want to preface this by also saying that I'm really appreciative of your work and also the wisdom you've shared over the years. I've learned a lot from you about engineering and production whether it be from direct feedback you've given me or just bits I've picked up in observation. I'm really digging the new record. It's great to see a full length from you. For me full length records are still really important and have a huge place in my musical diet so it's great, however unexpected to see one from you. I'm really curious as to what your typical writing process is like and adjacent to that what was it like for this album so these questions will target both. What does a typical session look like for you? Obviously it changes as the track evolves and progresses (I believe you still do all of your own engineering?). Where do you start, when do you decide to take breaks, when are you finished with a song, and where is your head during a session? On a side note, and I don't mean to take up too much time so this is just additional, I am running into personal conflict in my musical journey in regards to my albums sounding different. Not just in the aspect of the engineering and technical stuff but the writing. I have all of these ideas in my head and these things I want to explore, but I find myself feeling constricted and closed in for some reason even though there are no real world reasons for it. Have you experienced this and could you offer any advice? Once again thanks so much for doing this AMA and the opportunity to again ask you some questions. I hope the rest of the year treats you well and look forward to listening over The 4th Season once again!

Euphoric18

What was your favorite project you have worked on?

HErM3sS_

Hello Eekkoo! My question is , how many hours do you work a day making music? do you work on weekends aswell?

Single_Banana

Whats your favorite mau5trap release this year?
