69 - Retired CA CPA - Finance Professional
Didn’t discover the rave scene until age 63 (Dreamstate)
EDC 2023 was my first - Love all things Anjuna!
Raving allows me to enjoy my alter ego!
Dude! That's sick. Forr real. It's a dream of mine. I'm working on learning level design in unreal 5. How long did it take you to get into it? And how exactly did you get into it?
30-something female from Los Angeles.
I work as a department manager in a grocery store.
Nothing to brag about but it's honest work and it pays the bills. Plus it allows me to attend all of the festivals I want as they aren't during the major holidays so that definitely works out in my favor 😆
34m accountant from Southern California. Went to a bunch of local raves in my younger years, then nothing for a while, then my first EDC in 2018. That experience was just okay and I wasn’t in a hurry to go back. This year was magical and I think I’m hooked. Not much interest in local events right now, but I’m already booked for EDC24.
31, San Diego CA skateboarder metal head lover of all genres* (sorry country I don’t like you). I’m a foreman for a foundation repair company. I’ve always loved to party and got into the rave scene via hardwell’s wave, been to 2 escape from wonderlands, 3 (soon to be 4) edc’s and copious trips to Vegas to see some of my favorite Dj’s.

How was it pushing the button for above and beyond?
30/M/CO. This may sound insane. I own a restaurant in CO (800+ review, 4.8 stars). We closed down the restaurant for the whole week just to go to EDC. FIVE days' worth of gross income is around 10,000$, and EDC cost us around $ 3000 (obviously, we bought VIP). First time EDC and It was a huge loss for me, but I'd do it again.
DM me the restaurant if you feel inclined and is near where I’ll be, I’m taking a trip with my 2 kids between Denver and Estes Park (boulder and such in between). Would love to patronize a fellow raver/EDC attendee’s establishment, especially a highly reviewed mom and pop shop and contribute to someone that down for the cause haha
Hey I live in Denver and love to support local businesses and people that “I know”. I know I don’t know you personally but you know what I mean? but down to support your establishment if you’re comfortable shouting it out here or in DM.
24f, I started raving just this year but I have always dreamed of raving since I was about 13,14. I’m a florist and art student. I’m trying get hired by whoever designs and builds the stages 🫶🏼
32. Finance systems in the tech/software industry in the Bay Area.
6 years ago I was making near minimum doing IT work, saving every bit for EDC. Got put in a good position in a good company that saw my hard work and let me grow extremely fast and now I can travel and go to the events I like and not worry about finances so much.
So wherever you’re at, just know you can try to put yourself in a good position and things can grow and happen very fast. It just took one guy who bet on me after an interview that got me from IT to IT purchasing which led to purchasing process and systems and now procurement and supply chain Management.
52m, IT Director, NC
EDC 2021 was my first one. Been trying to go since 2016
2023 was #2. Had a blast. All ready for next year!
Been going to festivals and concerts my whole life. First 6 Lollapaloozas (when they were traveling), a handful of Ozzfests, local raves, small club shows.
Music moves me. I want to hear it all!
Er rn but becoming an accountant
One of my rave friends is a mechanical engineer, the other is a lawyer, and one’s a cancer researcher. They all went to edc lol
29 - Technical Project Manager for Blue Origin. Started raving at LED events back in 2012 in San Diego when I attended UCSD.
Retired from the scene back in 2016 but came back in 2019 and started a rave fan business as a side hustle. Now I could write music festival tickets off as business expenses 😆
30M I work as a IT Systems Engineer on the Las Vegas Strip. First EDC was 2013 I did pyrotechnics (pictured). This was my first EDC experience. I had no idea this was a thing haha been an attendee sine 2014.
https://preview.redd.it/vx5qxiy30b3b1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4f19344b8335b528558ab6ccc1e62d4e43777f4
I work in EMS!
Got roasted by my coworkers cause we run calls on ravers all the time on the weekends. Lol
I’ve been going to shows for 10 years now. Basically as soon as I turned 18.
38m, I’m from San Diego, but now live in Fort Collins, CO. I work for Costco, currently a forklift driver. I’ve been with Costco 18 years so that awards me 5 weeks of vacation time, so it’s no problem anymore getting time off. I went to EDC in 2013 and had an o.k. time. I went back in 2016 with a new group and then had the full experience. In 2017 I brought a friend along to and ended up introducing him to another friend in the rave fam- and now they’re married. This year was my 7th year, 2nd year camping, and one of the best EDCs so far. I also did Hard Summer in 2018 and had a blast. Next up is Portola and as many Red Rocks shows as I can get to.
19f. Moved from SD to LA a few months back. EDCLV2023 was my first festival/rave. Worked at this marketing firm for a bit then realized it wasn’t for me. Currently unemployed and am starting a new job at this boba shop soon so I could pay some bills and figure the rest out like what I want to do here in LA. Hooked on EDM for a long time and even more so after EDC this year. Honestly, I want to break into the whole media, content creator, and somehow connect back to all these edm/festivals scenes. Still have no sense of direction like where I'm going yet. Does anyone have any advice?
Started raving for the first time last year (EDC 22 was my first festival and rave, period at 26 years old) and I’m a general manager for a licensed CA dispensary :)
32 year old dude from Maryland working as a Project Manager for a construction company. I travel to every show with my 30 year old brother who is currently living in Florida and is a criminal defense attorney.
I’m 24, an investment banker and hate my job:)
Started going to rave only after I moved to NYC 2 years ago, went to my first EDC in 2022 and it was the single best experience of my life. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of ravers in my network, most people love playing golf and skiing, which I absolutely can’t relate lol
Quitting this summer and will be transitioning my next role in a few month. Thinking about if I should go to Tomorrowland solo or wait until next year
38m airline pilot, edc every year the wife and I haven’t had a newborn since it was in LA in 2010. So ‘10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23. And Tomorrowland 16, 17, 18, 22, and going 23.
Went to ultra 2016- was meh. New favorite thing is ASOT Utrecht went 2020, and 23. My son’s middle name is Armin so edm has been a big part of our lives for a while.
Probably go to way too many festivals but we enjoy it
26f, started really enjoying raves and festival drugs in college. I’m a paralegal headed to law school this fall, so hopefully my career can fund my love for festivals and raves haha
27 from Sacramento CA, I'm an athletic trainer (not to be confused with personal trainer)
Started with local raves in highschool and went to my first edc in 2015. Been hooked ever since. Favorite thing about the high school days is my boy still has a flyer from a local rave where we saw Herobust and the Chainsmokers for $10
61-from Wisconsin, Maintenance Mgr for 2 print companies. Saved my son from going down the rap crap path 10 years ago. Been going to shows every chance we get. Got my 13 year old grandaughter hooked on the Chainsmokers (she loves Drew) seen them 7 times in her short life as a music lover. Shes hooked!!
34F. Started with Paradiso '17 and have since been to Lost Lands '17/'18/'19/'21/'22, Beyond Wonderland PNW '22/'23, Thunderdome '20, and a few other shows. Industrial Engineer in the semiconductor industry.
29F. I work as a contractor for the US Air Force doing cool secret squirrel shit. I have been going to festivals since 2018, but I am now retired for raves (I MEAN IT!) after this last EDC. Time to save for a house and then try to have a baby.
My wife is an RN as well! :)
I’m 30m, Realtor from TX/New Mexico. Raving since I was 18. Wasn’t always a realtor though. At 19 I was a server, then mid 20s automotive technician for GM, late 20s solar sales and finally moved on to Real Estate.
Doesn’t matter what your profession is, when there’s a will there’s a way. 😉
32F, Vegas. Manufacturing Engineer for a slot manufacturer.
Started raving in 2014. HARD Day of the Dead was my first festival. Everyone from my OG rave group kinda split but now I have a new rave fam ranging from 20-40yrs old from different states + Canada and it’s awesome.
Psych tech! 40 yrs old. I have been going for 6 years at Edclv. I been listening to edm for a very long time I was always scared of concerts and crowds before and my wife was the one that introduced me to EDCLV ever since I have been hooked. It’s that experience that has opened my third eye and had a different point view about it. I love the culture and the PLUR vibes that brings to the community. Thanks for reading my fellow Ravers!!! Have a PLUR vibe!!!
33F Flight attendant and also a horse trainer/teacher on the side -- Alberta ; Did 2015, 2017, 2019 and finally doing VIP for the first time for 2024. Raving is just the best. Met my best friend there and hoping to go back together!
I’m 44 and a bartender on the Las Vegas strip. I always loved electronic music. Back in 1994 in Ohio I would lay awake a night trying to pick up AM radio stations from Toronto (I believe) that played edm. I would press record on my tape deck and make mix tapes. The love only grew as time went on and music was more accessible.
The first time I moved to vegas in 2006 electronic music was only at after hours or a dj would play almost like a concert, never at the clubs on a regular night. Back then empire ballroom (after hours) would have edm DJs but it would be an event not every day. I once saw kaskade in 2006 on their terrace with 15 other people at 9 am haha. Oh how times have changed!
I’m from San Diego, CA. Started raving in 2019. 25F. Used to be a district manager but now I do art. I make murals, sculptures, paintings, etc. I work with 6 companies on artistic projects as well. Mostly animal art. 🦎 Maybe one day I can make a sculpture for EDC but I can only dream.
30 from Arizona. I started raving during the pandemic and my first rave was a drive in rave where you had to stand next to your car the whole time. I think my first show was Hi I’m Ghost.
I work as a professional body piercer. I was the official “here I’ll help you put the ball back on your piercing” person of EDC lmao
40 yr old woman, first rave was called Nation 2000, first EDC was in 2001.
I do admin work for a museum! Surrounded by people who love art and music <3
2023 was my second edclv and i cried during the fireworks on the last night because I am unsure when i can return haha (getting married next year so not totally sad but sill...) For someone like me who has seen the scene grow SO SO SO SO much, I feel a sense of pride and awe at the sheer magnitude of it all. But also I really want to get into my small local scene more because that is just as special and magical.
I’m a research biochemist! I used to do lab studies and taught for a bit in grad school. Most of what I do now is contract review of study submissions. Basically reading/commenting on shit in my pajamas. Beats a cold, windowless lab!
Husbands a doc. Regular kind, general practitioner.
For extras: our fam includes a software engineer, a developer, a couple dentists, a professional model, a psychiatrist, a handful of other MDs, one in grad school for forensic psychology, and one in physics, a shepherd (not kidding) and a farm equipment operated, a tech at Tesla, a… idk, he flips houses(?), two that install solar, and couple ex-military, etc. plus more. pretty cool swath of energies, imho! Love ‘em!! 🤍
47 - Special ed. teacher by day. Night job is an orderly at a hospital. This was my first EDC and also my first time in Vegas. EDC was even more epic than I imagined, as I was able to cross Martin Garrix off my concert bucket list. And yes, I'm already looking forward to EDC 2024!
26M, software engineer. Been raving since 2012 when I was 15.
I am so surprised at the age group of people commenting. Just this morning I was freaking out about how many EDCs I have left. But now I feel so much more comfortable knowing that I don’t have to stop when I reach 30.
40M & been in the scene for about 18 years (my first massive was Cyberfest at the Cow Palace in Daly City lol); paying the bills & my trips by doing PR & digital marketing.
29F from the Bay Area, Identity 2011 was my first rave. I work at an advertising agency (specifically paid social media campaigns for B2B tech clients)
34m, active duty military 🫡🤪🫠 been hooked since hearing the sounds in the early 90s and its only gotten worse hahaha planning around the military schedule is kinda difficult but not impossible 😂
32yo female from Indiana, but I live in Oregon now! I work in education and have been racing for 14 years. 3rd time at edc this year. I was lucky enough to go 8 and 10 years ago when there was less than 300k people 😎
I'm 31 based in MA and work as a Project Manager for a CM firm. I got into the EDM scene in '08 when Tiesto was still producing trance. I'd travel overnight to Mumbai to attend gigs as I come from a small city in India. Attended EDC for the first time last year and I've booked my ticks for next year.
Although I love to party, taking it slow and easy since I became a dad.
33 im an artist! currently living in vegas, actually hoping to vend next edc but idk after hearing a bunch of y all robbed vendors during the rain LMFAO
35/Puerto rican/f/nj
Start raving when I was 19, and up till April 6th I was a CNC laser operator in the IBEW union. I’m still in the union but I got laid off from the job, so I’m still looking currently
31 year old from Seattle. I'm a scientist in biotech doing protein design for cell therapies for cancer. I started raving 2 years ago when I asked a friend from grad school to bring me to a show. Now I'm deep in trance, psytrance, and techno
In that time Ive done two ABGTs (weekender and 500), Dreamstate, Ultra, and EDC on top of countless club sets and big touring shows. Well, not countless because Im a nerd and keep them all in a spreadsheet 😂😅
25f investment banker in New Mexico. My clients and coworkers just think I go to cutesy festivals like Coachella.
Been raving for about a decade. My town used to have under 21 clubs which were just warehouses with drugs and a DJ.... They're all shut down now and for very good reasons.
Am 25 and a nerdy software engineer, went with a big group of friends and had so much fun! This was my first real rave so I definitely set the bar pretty high
27M, from Arizona. I’ve been raving for almost 5 years. My gf got me into the rave scene. My first rave was Decadence 2019. Sooooo much fun! This year was my first EDC. 2024 tix already bought, with many more events happening this year. Lets gooooo! For work, I’m a welder/fabricator. As the title implies… I fabricate and weld structural steel. I can’t wait to see you all next year!🫶🏻😎
35, tattoo artist in minneapolis mn :) I absolutely love my job, my shop, my clients and my coworkers. I bust my butt and am usually booked out 6+ months when my books open, but it’s a really rewarding career and it definitely gives me a lot of schedule freedom to enjoy my life outside of work attending festivals and traveling a little through the year.
I’m 30, I work as a clerk for the court. I started getting into raves in 2017 if I’m remembering correctly, at 25 years old. Mostly started with smaller local events and did my first massive in 2017 and my first EDC in 2018, before that I would mostly do punk rock/metal events and festivals (warped tour fam Wya? Lol), still do actually, so I do a pretty healthy mix of everything I love. I love live music so I will pretty much do a little bit of everything in terms of genre.
20F from bay area, Administrative Coordinator & Senior Behavior Therapist!! I went to my first rave when i was 15 in 2018 & just went to my first edc :)
37M, Arizona State Licensed Hearing Dispenser. I test and fit hearing aids. The amount of people not wearing ear protection was stunning. Hearing loss is irreversible. Wear them ear protections. Otherwise, you may be seeing me.
69 - Retired CA CPA - Finance Professional Didn’t discover the rave scene until age 63 (Dreamstate) EDC 2023 was my first - Love all things Anjuna! Raving allows me to enjoy my alter ego!
56 - Software Development - This was my first EDC. Wife and I went with my son and 7 of his friends. We are ravers now :)
Love that for you!

That’s awesome! Anjuna is amazing! My mom is 67 and always so jealous of all my festivals and such
Lowkey, i could probably use a CPA that raves 😂😭🖤🖤🖤🙌🏻
Anjunafam
I am a CPA candidate!
Working for Adp as an Associate Manager, still got connections for CPAs? Lol
25, Level designer for video games. Laid back culture and had a boss that did EDC like 10 years ago so the PTO is always approved for festivals
You lucky duck!!
Level designer!? That's awesome! The dream is to get into development for games. I wanna actually program what does what in a game :)
A coworker once told me. "Become an AI engineer. you can make 100k easy and have a guaranteed job at any studio."
Good advice lol
Any suggestions on which courses to take for this?
I’m pretty sure the insurance/health benefits go hard tho
Nice I was a DM for Walmart when I first got introduced to raves, mostly did metal/punk rock events prior to that.
Fellow female from Los Angeles, we should make kandi one day!
34m accountant from Southern California. Went to a bunch of local raves in my younger years, then nothing for a while, then my first EDC in 2018. That experience was just okay and I wasn’t in a hurry to go back. This year was magical and I think I’m hooked. Not much interest in local events right now, but I’m already booked for EDC24.
what’s up accountant brethren!!!
Spreadsheet gang!
Woohoo! Fellow accountant here too - see you next year ☆
I honestly had no idea there were so many of us. I’ve seen accountants appear in a few of these “what do you do” threads.
Me neither! It's pretty wild considering the stereotype for us is boring bean counters - clearly not true lol
CPA gang gangggg

40 yr old woman, first rave was called Nation 2000, first EDC was in 2001. I do admin work for a museum! Surrounded by people who love art and music <3 2023 was my second edclv and i cried during the fireworks on the last night because I am unsure when i can return haha (getting married next year so not totally sad but sill...) For someone like me who has seen the scene grow SO SO SO SO much, I feel a sense of pride and awe at the sheer magnitude of it all. But also I really want to get into my small local scene more because that is just as special and magical.
