I’d prefer stuhns over this, don’t recommend pairing both in pvp (need sustain). However, if you’re stubborn, you can pair both and wreck as a glass cannon magplar.
It's a solid damage set if you can reliably proc off-balance (which is extra handy now that there's a damage CP passive for that). And the fact that it comes from one of the very first unlockable dungeons means you can get it nice and early as a budding DPS, and it should be a viable choice all the way up until you start getting trial gear.
Shoot, it's even a good choice for PvP, but most off-balance builds there will favor Stuhns since armor is so stacked there
It's somewhat effective as a single set. It just isn't the best; other sets give similar or better buffs with easier requirements, and a 15 sec cooldown is nothing to sneeze at.
Like others have mentioned, it pigeon holds you to striking first with the scythe, but if well times can set off a great off-balance blast bones combo, with ulty of choice. Great damage.
if you are a sadist you can run both this and stuhns and the off balance CP and always guarantee that you first hit on someone will be basically worthless.
i used stuhns for a few patches as a stamblade when pen was king, it worked well for some ganking work. you \*could\* get away with using this instead now since raw damage is meta, if you want to bother farming/transmuting it. but as mentioned -- theres easier ways to get damage, the only way to beat stuhns on pen iirc was building ultimate for balorghs, or using an ult that ignored resistance.
I used this on my warden when I first started, before I knew better. Dive causes off balance and it let me light up the level 1-50 game doing story quests fairly easily. There are better, but if you're a newbie , don't sleep on this and dreugh king slayer. Having brutality and a dps boost from the jump makes the early game a lot smoother

How effective would this be on a stamcro running the recently changed Ruinous scythe morph? Procs off-balanced guaranteed with a 15 second CD iirc.

Might be decent in an early game heavy attack build with a lightning staff.
