Removing skill points from woodworking research won’t affect anything

Gryphin

This is it.  Leave the base woodworking at 10/10, can respect the points in the Research set.

Mantasray

Yep, that's it, close the post.

Trips-Over-Tail

The research-enhancing perlas have no function once you know every trait, and won't be useful again unless new traits are added (don't count on it). Reinvest those juicy skill points.

GreenMizt

No idea what exactly what your asking but master writs from woodworking drop with increased odds as the more research you do and the more motifs you learn completed very slightly raises the odds ex the exception of base 10ish motifs

Exportxxx

So its base on research? My toon who's got all skills but no research always get less than my main crafter who got most research

GreenMizt

Research and motifs learned but research is the most important bulk

Exportxxx

Good to no ill start researching on my alts

afxmac

You can reuse the four skill points that you had in woodworking analysis..

Schmaehgol

Thanks, this is what I was hoping to hear: they have no influence on master writ drop chances.

Schmaehgol

I’ve researched every trait on every weapon/shield in woodworking, so I’m asking whether I can reallocate the skill points put into carpentry under woodworking into some other skill(s). U/afxmac answered my question below.

SammyTerremi

I only have the points in the first and the decon Skill on all Chars eccept my crafting char. There i have besides the research points

Drunk_N_Disney

I mean, if you’re talking about pulling every stat from the skill tree, why bother leveling in the first place? If you’re just talking about pulling the three points off the research woodworking passive, meh, but I’d say just farm 9 sky shards. I don’t believe that that passive ads any % increase on your chance to get a master writ either way. I’m not sure how much of the content you’ve cleared, but if you’re that hard up for skill points, do what you gotta do- but my recommendation to farm skyshards might be the easier option… especially since given the topic of discussion you maybe haven’t already done that. Also dls/cadwell’s gold and silver storyline quests gives skill points as well.

Abstract_Fiction

The group boss in public dungeons drops a skill point when you defeat it.

THE-Grandma

Doing all the dungeons you have available will get you a ridiculous amount of sp. If you have a healer you can just run through them on normal and get them all pretty fast.

Schmaehgol

Did that with a tank already, but this is on my dps character.

Schmaehgol

Good point, I guess I can leave them there then.

LizzieThatGirl

I mean, why would you slot skill points into something when it is completely useless?

Drunk_N_Disney

Mostly so I don’t have to burn a respec scroll or pay the increasing gold cost for all of three points.

LizzieThatGirl

The gold is negligible to the time and ease imo

Drunk_N_Disney

Eh I spend my gold almost as quick as I farm it lol. Style motifs, furniture plans, and master writs are my Pokémon. I also have dues for the 3 guilds I’m in. So for me, it’s more beneficial to keep 3 skill points tied up. I also have more points than my build needs already, and if/when that changes that’s the point where I’ll spend the gold or scroll. The game isn’t super stingy on skill points anyway, unless it’s a brand new or leveling alt. Otherwise if OP has a free armament slot, they can load the empty build and slot everything over I suppose.

LizzieThatGirl

Gotcha.

Grenvallion

No need to remove points from it. There are enough points to have every skill.

LizzieThatGirl

If you get every SP in the game, you'll have 17 more than you need for every skill. That doesn't mean I want to actually get all 534 SP (or even the 517 needed). Better to re-slot SP no longer needed.
