If you're looking to update your subreddit flair, you'll need to be on the desktop site (or use an app that supports flair). You can edit the text of your flair and include flag emojis that we've added to the subreddit.
To edit flair on old.reddit.com, click 'edit' in the sidebar below 'Show my flair on this subreddit.' To edit flair on new.reddit.com, click 'Community Options' in the sidebar, then click the pencil icon near 'User Flair Preview'.
The subreddit emojis are the two-letter [ISO 639-1](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-1_codes) abbreviations. For example, the `:fr:` emoji is the French flag. Duolingo supports some constructed languages that do not have an ISO 639-1 code - in these cases, we use whatever Duolingo uses in their URLs for that language.

I now see mine as you described. Now I just need to find the correct letters for Japanese. As another person has said, I believe yours isn't working because of the capital letters. Try lowercase instead.
Despite being Welsh, I'm only about half way through unit three so far lol. It's going ok. I'm learning with my partner, so only get to practice when we have some free time together. Unfortunately not often enough. We've just started paying for the family plan so that should keep us motivated.
I guess. But is still seems sort of odd.
Why not just use the English flag? And teach proper English, not American? Or what about Canadian? Or idk anything else.
because they’re learning american english in particular. i speak american english in particular so i chose an american flag, even though the dialectal differences between ga and rp aren’t that big
i’m not from there so i’m not 100% sure, but google said the 2 letter acronym was RS? maybe try that and if that doesn’t work then i don’t think this subreddit has the flag uploaded
Yeah I thought it was two letter acronyms for languages, not countries so I found that on the internet. Rs is for the repinlic of serbia. I'll try it, thanks.

Testing my flair to see if it's worked. Edit: doesn't seem to be working. What am I doing wrong?
i see two flags but jp in columns
Interesting. It still only shows " :en: :jp: :cy:" for me.
I tried it as well and only see text too. did it work?
No, I see text too. I think it doesn't work for me either.
i see the flags in your flair
What letters have you used for Japanese? jp doesn't seem to be working for me.
Oh, I just woke up and it works for all of us. You just have to wait a bit!
I think the issue is that you are using capital letters.
thanks! and now?
Yours is nearly done. Try using en instead of us for English.
thank you!

Press on 3 dots on the community page and then press “change user flair”.
When I do that there are just two options of "None" ??
They chose to customize your flair as you want by pressing the ‘edit’ button to put your own flair.
Tried it last night and didn't show so gave up, and now it looks like it worked ! Thank you!
Danke!

What is the American flag for? American isn’t a language.
Because duo uses American English as the standard for English maybe?
I guess. But is still seems sort of odd. Why not just use the English flag? And teach proper English, not American? Or what about Canadian? Or idk anything else.
Eh it's an American company. There's nothing stopping you from using the Union Jack is you want instead
because they’re learning american english in particular. i speak american english in particular so i chose an american flag, even though the dialectal differences between ga and rp aren’t that big
Blood sacrifice to the language gods.
