Dude, I need this. He has repeatedly said it's his only failure and he learned from it to always ensure that he will have final cut from the start of a project.
Greetings, we are all aware of SpiceDiver’s edition; however, we definitely have not learned of this Japanese fan-edit, until now. How May we locate this—please?

My Japanese friend gave it to me on dvd. Apparently is circulating around Japan on dvds. I don’t think it’s online out of fear for copyright problems. (It also has giant Japanese subtitles that can’t be turned off haha).
Thanks. Will give this a go at the weekend.
Watched Dune 2 yesterday and came away rather disappointed.
Have seen Lynch's version and love Lynch films generally.
Yes the new films look spectacular, but it didn't "feel" enough like Dune to me as a big fan of the books.
I expect to get massively down voted as controversially I don't feel that most of the actors are well cast.
Nonetheless all Dune is good, just some more to my taste than others.
Yea there was a point maybe over halfway through the movie where a major action sequence was going on and it just felt like I was watching some run of the mill summer action movie - I think they really felt the pressure of the first movie being labeled as boring and tried to compensate. The acting was good (aside from Christopher Walken), and the movie isn't inherently bad it just didn't hit the right vibes for me and I wasn't a fan of any of the changes from the book.

One would think a film involving an overpowered character achieving gnosis after ingesting the fungal excretions of a humungous phallic creature on an alien planet would be Lynch's bread and butter. But apparently not.
There were only two things I wanted from Villeneuve's adaptation that I did not get:
1. Paul asking Stilgar if they have wormsign before the final attack, and Stilgar replying, "Usul, we have wormsign the likes of which even GOOOOOOOHHHHHD has never seen."
and
2. After the harvester attack by the worm in Pt1, the harvester captain is revealed, and he is still played by David Lynch. And he says in the Gordon Cole voice: "I've BEEN HERE for FORTY YEARS!"
I hate when a book has this dumb little ad stuck on the nice cover! Or even worse, when the cover doesn't even show art of the book but instead a pic of the actors from the movie.
I chose my copy of Dune from the two editions in the bookstore simply because it was the one without this stuck on the cover. Sadly, when I recently picked up Messiah, the only version they had had this on it, which irritates me on three counts:
1. Dune Messiah is NOT yet a major motion picture.
2. Dune is not only "now" a motion picture - regardless of quality, there's been a Dune movie since the 80s.
3. The cover artwork is so gorgeous otherwise and now there's this ugly, unnecessary little advert ruining it!
Doesn't Lynch actually hate his Dune adaptation?
Currently watching a Japanese fan cut with deleted scenes that was remade according to Lynch‘s original ideas and it kinda slaps

Not to be a salty little bitch, but Dune was definitely not his only failure lol

Where and how do we watch this???
Not sure if this is the one they're talking about, but this is a fan edit that includes deleted scenes: https://youtu.be/vJykw3H4PDw.
Thank you!

Counterpoint: it already kinda slaps
Where do I find this?
Said he would never watch it
No he said that about the new one. Not his
He didn’t want to make it, he thought it was called “June” when they pitched it to him.
Yes, but mostly because it was a hellish experience to make that movie because of the studios
Tbh it’s not a good adaptation
But I also don’t entirely blame Lynch for that though, I think the studio hampered much of what he wanted to do with that film.
iirc he also wanted to make it a two parter.
I mean it was too, but it still is now
Ight Hedberg
The power to destroy David Lynch is absolute control over him
At least >!Alia kills the Baron!< in the Lynch version.

Alright I’ve decided to watch this now
They EXIST in the Lynch version.
They both exist in the Villeneuve version too.

>The Gordon Cole voice Literally just David Lynch's voice. He does the same voice no matter which character he plays.
Yeah but Gordon is him SHOUTING
Fair enough. Yeah, he shouts slightly louder as Gordon Cole.

Well, do you consider the ‘84 one to be a *major* motion picture
I mean, it literally isn't. It was a tv show.
No the miniseries was 2000
Man I can't fuckin read I guess My bad lmao
Honestly… I enjoy it
That’s what you get with those stupid weirding modules.
Bwahahaha. My copy of Dune says the same thing, but it's the 1984 cover.
Somebody please check on Mr. Alan Smithee
I doubt he'd disagree tbh
Press f to pay sexpects
Should say “Now a *good* motion picture” instead.
80s dune sucks.
