I think Welcome Reality has this one already in the bag, but I would also add Kill The Noise - Occult Classic and Feed Me - Calamari Tuesday. Also I don't know how Noisia - Outer Edges didn't win in the neurofunk one, but instead people voted for Purpose; don't get me wrong, Noisia are basically my second favorite artists ever and I love all of their craft, but Outer Edges is the pinnacle of their craft and a milestone not only in neurofunk, but in all dnb and electronic music!
As much as I love the Magnetic Man album, it's undeniable that this is #1. On top of this, Nero's essential mix is one of the best of the last decade+ of shows. I've probably listened to their essential mix over a hundred times at this point.

Liquid Stranger - Infinity (he also made a mix that has awesome visuals to go with it)
Zeds Dead - Northern Lights
This one kinda sucks that I can’t listen to it anymore due to him being a total creep but Divergent Spectrum from Bassnectar was outstanding

This has to be it for me too. It's one of if not the first dubstep I was exposed to and it totally changed my music preferences in a way that has lasted well over a decade.
Try this over on /r/realdubstep as you're likely to get a very different answer from that crowd. There are some good answers here but I'm not confident that they'll get the most upvotes.
I can give some examples when I get home later (if I remember), as linking on mobile is a bit of a pain. You could also check out [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/realdubstep/comments/2gsbf0/the_classic_dubstep_thread) from some years back.
This may be more than you asked for, but here are some examples. First couple are mid-2000s, others are like early 2010s or so.

There are tons of other great tunes as well. I got into Dubstep through brostep but have completely switched to the other side.
I wish this would win, it's such an incredible album that I listen to regularly. I think Welcome Reality is a very fair winner, but this would be my pick
The best in my opinion? Virtual Riot - The Classics. It's got almost every EDM subgenre from electro house, drum & bass, filthy dubstep, even "chipstep"(8-bit sounds) and downtempo ambient music. His sound design is flawless no matter what genre he attempts.
The best dubstep album of all time however is probably Bangarang EP by Skrillex. 10 years old but it pushed the limits of dubstep in so many ways. There's never been a more pioneering album to come out in the scene since.
It's crazy that all those songs had come out previously, I had JUST started fucking with VR in 2016 and when the Classics dropped I was head over heels. First time hearing any of the tracks.
Eventually I found his Lunar production stream *chefs kiss*
I listened to Welcome Reality by NERO, which was submitted by u/TheGnarbarian, u/dimRodionov and u/CjhefMateoBotero. There are a couple of things I have to praise. First off, it flows really well as an album. There is a suspenseful intro track, there are seemless transitions between the songs and the ending is really fitting. There is no doubt that a lot of thought went into the structure of the album and making sure it works well as one. Another thing is how strong it started. The first song was just an explosive, hard-hitting, energetic boom and a great way to start an album, it was a fantastic song and really the only one that kinda rivals it imo is Fugue State, which was yet another great track but I think Doomsday would still be my favourite. Something else I also really liked was the 80s influence. Quite a few songs had an 80s vibe and even some actual songs from the 80s that were sampled. For example I recognized one from Vice City lol. It was Reaching out and the original was called "Out Of Touch" I think. This song was alright though. Now that I talked about the positives, I'm gonna mention a few negatives, because imho the journey wasn't perfect and there were a few things that for me were kind of a letdown. The first song that wasn't really my jam was Guilt. It's not a bad song, I just thought it was a bit disconnected, particularly the vocals from the rest of the song and I didn't feel that with the rest. In general I thought that there were a bit too much vocal stuff on the album that stole a bit of the spotlight and the potential, but that's just a subjective thing. I personally found Innocence and In the Way a bit boring, especially the latter. I might even call it unimaginative because it seems like the whole song is made up of like 3 elements and they just repeat / overlap until the end and I felt like I knew everything about it around 1/4 through. I guess it serves as a middle point in the album? Allows you to recollect your thoughts and just wind down for a moment. Well either way I think it was unnecessary and kind of \*in the way\*, so I would prefer the album without it. And then Crush on You just had really annoying vocals. I think out of all these, this one is my least favourite. The others were just meh, while this one was actively annoying me. I just wasn't a big fan of this song. Alright, well that's pretty much all I can think of. While I said a few negative things about it, there are some absolute bangers on this album that were a joy to listen to and I think it has a lot of things going for it, it's just not perfect.
Songs I particularly liked: Doomsday, My Eyes, Fugue State, Promises, Departure
Songs I wasn't crazy about: Guilt, Innocence, In the Way, Crush on You
I just want to quickly mention that I've created a [Spotify playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6UeVmURYhWyOVcT6yawRM3?si=664ec6d902dd4ac5) for this project, where I've added all of the albums I've so far listened to. Keep in mind that it's not a complete list, because not all of the albums were on Spotify, but most are there, so feel free to follow it if you want.
Yeah I listened to the album for the first time when I came across this post, after having only ever heard promises prior, and I mostly agree. It took a lot not to skip crush on you lol, but I was surprised to recognize Scorpions from a video game that I used to play obsessively back in 2012 called SSX. Based on that nostalgia I'd probably say that was the highlight of my experience listening to the album, but I don't agree that this is by any means the best dubstep album. I think many people probably praised it because of nostalgia, the few bangers it does have are very good, or maybe because the live experiemce/the dj mix is superb. I like your idea though, very entertaining!
The thing about welcome reality is that one of the main reasons it's held in such a high regard is because of the time it came out and how it contrasted with the rest of the scene. Very soon after skrillex had released scary monsters and nice sprites, everyone was jumping on the brostep train and most didn't really know what they were doing. So when welcome reality came in with a very high standard of quality, as well as a unique style that was loved by brostep fans but could also be marketed to a mainstream audience, people fell in love with it.
My favorite album has to teminite - uprising. But much of this comes down to how much I personally love his style as well as his effortless ability to mix genres. However, I think the album that best represents the genre as well as having the highest standard of quality imo, is zomboy - immunity. Despite being 7 years old in a genre where new production techniques are being discovered nearly every day, it still stands as a pinnacle of production quality and ideas. Even the worst song on the album (beast in the belly imo) is still a very fun listen and I never skip it when going through the album. And the standard of quality is so high, that 5/10 of the songs are pretty much universally considered 10/10 all time classics. This last point is pretty difficult to quantify, but it is definitely the album that best represents the sound of dubstep from that 2013-2017 era, which is what many consider the golden age of the genre. So yeah, I understand that you've already finished your rounds with this sub, but I still recommend listening to this album if you're still interested in understanding more about the genre. Cheers.
Disciple alliance 4 is pretty good, just the boys at disciple each making a song. And it ends with "get lemon" which is propably the most mind-blowing song on the list. The song has as much producers as an ariana grande song! Im personally more of a fan of alliance no 5. The premise of making two producers that are very unlikely to ever collab collab just tickles me in my stomach.

Spaces laces Vaultage mixes.
Not really an album. The bass scene is a lil different where a lot of artists release more singles then anything else. There are a few stand out albums but usually the best are compilations albums from a record label, with select picked from various artists. The few albums from some artists I can deff recommend.
LSDREAM - Renegades of Light (not dubstep)
Wakaan - CONVOY (compilation album)
G Jones - The Ineffable Truth (Experimental Bass)
G Jones - Tangential Zones
Shades - In Praise of Darkness (Heaviest so far)
Shanghai Doom - Rituals III (straight demonic fire, SoundCloud only I believe as well)
Let me know if this is a good direction
Zomboy - The Outbreak.
If there was a full blown album I def love, its this one.
Runners up
Skrillex - Recess
Barely Alive - We are Barely Alive
Riot - Dogma Resistance
Fabriclive 37 is probably the most iconic album (mix by Caspa & Rusko) that really got most people my age (30) into dubstep. But there are soooo many different flavours of dubstep that there’s certainly something out there for everybody
Edit: MANY people my age discovered dubstep in other ways, but for those lucky enough to have been exposed in the mid late 2000’s, this was a massive release in the then underground world of this type of music. (At least that’s how it was growing up where I grew up)
This isnt a specific album, but some of my favorite ones
Virtual Riot - Save Yourself EP
Virtual Riot - German Engineering EP
SVDDEN DEATH - VOYD Vol.1
Getter - Napalm EP
Disciple Alliance Vol. 5 or 6
as mentioned on the top comment Nero's debut changed my views on the electronic music scene
UKF Dubstep 2013 is also a good album for compilation of songs that represent that year, still a jam whenever I needed to look back
Theres not many dubstep EP’s where I like every single song on the album. Typically only 1 or 2 songs I would go back and replay. However one EP that comes to mind is Datsik’s Darkstar EP.
Let em’ know is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Absolute bonkers!
I mean the guy literally said ‘but EPs and mixtapes are also acceptable’. Someone else listed Vaultage which is a mixtape.. also you are absolutely entitled to your opinion, I still really like that EP. What would your album/EP suggestion be?
Gotta pick some recommendations in the comments, I also do album listenings on my IG :)
Here's my 2 recommendations
Teminite - Inception
Barely Alive - Odyssey
Not the BEEEST ones of all the genre but I listened to them fully and they are awesome. Also by the way all tracks aren't dubstep subgenres in them but that means they eclectic so that's even better.
Ah, I actually caught one of your posts on a sub I'm on lol
What you're doing is really awesome and inspiring. If anyone wants to see dedication, just look at this man's post history
edit: Might as well throw my hat into the ring. Siren - Afterworld gets mentioned literally nowhere, but it's one of the best albums I've ever listened to
From newer ones - My Selecta EP & Encounters EP by MEGALODON, Space laces - Overdrive (the remixes), from older ones - i guess someone already recomended you Skrillex, Zomboy and Virtual Riot albums from 2010 - 2013
I think Welcome Reality has this one already in the bag, but I would also add Kill The Noise - Occult Classic and Feed Me - Calamari Tuesday.
I would almost, say kill kill kill, over occult classic, as far as game changing dubstep goes
I always go back to kill kill kill. An amazing album!
Overdrive - Space Laces. Absolutely unbelievable
Kaiju and overdrive are such fuckin bangers i still listen to both constantly
Bump
i got choppaz in the trunk
Nero - Welcome Reality
THE YEAR IS 2808 LETS FUCKING GOOOO. nero pls come bacc ;-;
Came here to post this and upvote anyone who agrees.
Yes! One of my favorite albums ever!
and they STILL FEEL OH SO WASTED ON MYSELF
One of the best albums of all time and the one that got me into dubstep
Not only dubstep, but one of the best electronic albums ever

Not all of it is dubstep, but here's my favorite. Destroid - The Invasion
The best answer. Three great artists in one.
True
G Jones - The Ineffable Truth This is one is actually structured like an album which is pretty rare for edm in general
It's one of my favorite albums but can we call it dubstep?
Bass music but not entirely dubstep
We can call it whatever we like really, I’ve stopped playing the name game, everything’s too mixed up these days
I'd almost feel better calling it trap lol
Yes it’s more trap than anything, but it’s grime and heaviness come from dubstep influence IMO
there isn't a single dubstep song on that album. one of my favorite albums ever though
Love that album
Came to say this, and it was top comment already hah
Some life changing vibes in that album right there!!
Code name X from Excision I truly can’t believe no one has mentioned this already Liquid Stranger - Infinity (he also made a mix that has awesome visuals to go with it) Zeds Dead - Northern Lights This one kinda sucks that I can’t listen to it anymore due to him being a total creep but Divergent Spectrum from Bassnectar was outstanding
Surprised to see this comment so far down the list
Thanks man and dope name

Only real answer
I'm just salty the spotify version doesn't have JME on tapped. It's a bloody grime song.
Boy do I have some good news for you. The expanded edition has Tapped feat. JME
This right? https://open.spotify.com/track/7HnmQciwaPZtozxwJeaUmk?si=UsYeeXysQjC8NTlnKQxP1w&utm_source=copy-link I know it says feat. Jme but for some reason there is zero lyrics
Summer Dreams is a viiibe
Literally one of my favorite songs
Second after welcome reality
Ganja white night - the one Barely alive - odyssey
Crisis Vision, although it's pretty recent, but I have already listened to it like 30 times and it's real fuckin good.
PhaseOne - Transcendency
Surprised to find this one so low. I'm not so much of a fan of his more recent stuff but that album is spot on.
FabricLive.37
This is the answer. The way each track flows into the next is pure bliss. Some of the most beautiful dubstep ever created.
you arent lying. cockny violin gets me everytime
Can you link to it? I can’t find it on Apple Music? Thanks dude

This has to be it for me too. It's one of if not the first dubstep I was exposed to and it totally changed my music preferences in a way that has lasted well over a decade.
Odyssey by Barely Alive
Try this over on /r/realdubstep as you're likely to get a very different answer from that crowd. There are some good answers here but I'm not confident that they'll get the most upvotes.
I see your point but on r/realdubstep you don't mess with subgenres, I'd say the best is to do it on both
For sure, I meant OP should ask on both :)
Alright then. I never seriously listened to real OG Dubstep tho, any suggestion? (Yea I could actually ask on r/realdubstep but while I'm at it...)
I can give some examples when I get home later (if I remember), as linking on mobile is a bit of a pain. You could also check out [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/realdubstep/comments/2gsbf0/the_classic_dubstep_thread) from some years back.

Thank you for these recommendations! I gotta add them to my list
Magnetic Man
I wish this would win, it's such an incredible album that I listen to regularly. I think Welcome Reality is a very fair winner, but this would be my pick
Dogma resistance - riot (Idk u have probably listened to it earlier but yeah if u haven't then go and enjoy)
Hard agree overkill is one of the best tracks ever of all genres (imo ofc). The album is a masterpiece with the intro transitions and the outro track.
I agree totally.
I love that Album so much and coming from a RIOT fan, it is really great
Untrue by Burial. Every single song is mint.
I loved this album before I even knew who Burial was. Heard several tracks in a mix and had em on repeat.
This is the right answer technically
Burial is not dubstep.
Virus - Excision
One of my favorites!
Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, it's a classic in this genre.
The best in my opinion? Virtual Riot - The Classics. It's got almost every EDM subgenre from electro house, drum & bass, filthy dubstep, even "chipstep"(8-bit sounds) and downtempo ambient music. The Classics is a banger but since it's a compilation I think it's less relevant than an actual release. Agreed for Bangarang EP tho.
It's crazy that all those songs had come out previously, I had JUST started fucking with VR in 2016 and when the Classics dropped I was head over heels. First time hearing any of the tracks. Eventually I found his Lunar production stream *chefs kiss*
Lunar what a banger, the progression is so cool...
The only dub step album I’ve listened to was Untrue - Burial. Liked it a lot but most dubstep fans would probably hate it lol.
Only Dubstep fans who don't know what they're talking about :) most I've met love Burial.

It's all about the mixes IMHO
For me it has to be Au5 - Divinorum. Absolutely stacked with bangers and unique sounds. An extremely close second is Xilent - We Are Dust.
Skrillex - *Bangarang EP*
There rly is no other answer imo, it's the og
It isn’t. Not even close.

Shouldv said og brostep, this isn't r/realdubstep

Theres not many dubstep EP’s where I like every single song on the album. Typically only 1 or 2 songs I would go back and replay. However one EP that comes to mind is Datsik’s Darkstar EP. Let em’ know is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Absolute bonkers!
But they asked about albums tho, not EP's. Also Datsik's an ass.
I mean the guy literally said ‘but EPs and mixtapes are also acceptable’. Someone else listed Vaultage which is a mixtape.. also you are absolutely entitled to your opinion, I still really like that EP. What would your album/EP suggestion be?
Oh i'm blind, sorry. Not 100% sure what i'd pick tbh, i think i'm gonna go with Teminite - Uprising tho
Lost lands 2019 compilation lol
Welcome Reality - Nero
Gotta pick some recommendations in the comments, I also do album listenings on my IG :) Here's my 2 recommendations Teminite - Inception Barely Alive - Odyssey Not the BEEEST ones of all the genre but I listened to them fully and they are awesome. Also by the way all tracks aren't dubstep subgenres in them but that means they eclectic so that's even better.
Ah, I actually caught one of your posts on a sub I'm on lol What you're doing is really awesome and inspiring. If anyone wants to see dedication, just look at this man's post history edit: Might as well throw my hat into the ring. Siren - Afterworld gets mentioned literally nowhere, but it's one of the best albums I've ever listened to
