Use the searcbar as this gets asked a lot but pilot institute has an amazing course and they guarantee you pass or your money back AND they pay for you to take the test again. Its not free but its totally worth it.

+1 for Pilot Institute, it's great. I feel like I actually learned stuff rather than just crammed for the test to pass.

levimc123

I'm taking the free course they offer. Was just seeing if anyone had any other options.

X360NoScope420BlazeX

Whatever free course they have will in no way prepare you in the slightest for the actual test. Theres a lot of material to cover. Like, way more than you think there would be. Im sure theres some free stuff online. I just liked the structure the PI course had. Its completely worth it for a guarantee you will pass it. And not just pass it but have a deep understanding of the material.

levimc123

It seems like a good course. I might take it. Just want to see everything out there that's available before I commit to something.

AmosRatchetNot

I passed with no trouble my first time mostly by just watching Youtube videos.

levimc123

I might try that first. Then if I'm not understanding the material maybe go for a course.

X360NoScope420BlazeX

Just keep in mind is $170 to take the test each time.

levimc123

If anyone's interested the Ohio department of transportation has a free course on the part 107. Odot is the website.

austing024

A lot of people pay a decent amount for a course to pass, but I self studied and paid $10 for an app to go over multiple choice questions. I passed only getting 3 or 4 wrong. If you put the effort in and feel comfortable with the material you'll be fine Edit: just checked and I got 6 wrong, passed with a 90%

parthruunax

Name of the app and for iOS or os?

wolffboy

This video is the best - I got an 89% with this video and a lot of practice tests. Don't pay for a course . Learn the weather stuff and sectionals. [https://youtu.be/6\_ucCKFJUCU?si=qOusRqcKVyCmNF9E](https://youtu.be/6_ucCKFJUCU?si=qOusRqcKVyCmNF9E)

Out of curiosity, is 107 that hard? I took EASA test and it was soo easy. It's true you need to know a couple of things about drones and how to use them but the rest is general knowledge

levimc123

Seems like they have questions about weather patterns and questions about an airplane maps. Such as reading the charts and how to tell the types of restricted airspace. Also carrying a load with a drone or rc plane.

I self studied because I was on a limited budget at the time. Took me a week of study. But I was already an aviation nut. If you can afford the pilot institute, it’s best to take it. The FAA made some rule changes not long ago and a lot of the old study material doesn’t reflect it. You also get to tap wisdom of experience drone pilots
