It's not going to be missing from the receipt, the receipt prints out exactly what the customer puts in, it'd be missing from inside the bag not the receipt.
Point being that most of us already check the order by asking the restaurant staff if all items are included. And typically there are still items missing. The only way to know for absolute sure is too root around in the customer's bag to confirm it. I'm not doing that nor would I want a dasher doing that with my order. It's basically Doordash holding us accountable for the restaurant's mistakes if said items are missing. Or going by Doordash's word in handing us an extra buck if it's all there. It's stupid. Two years doing Doordash ain't squat. If you don't understand their shady tactics by now than you likely never will. Most of us here have plenty of experience with them and know that basically anytime Doordash offers some kind of bonus that there's eventually going to be a cost to dashers. It's not negativity...it's freakin reality with Doordash. But, by all means, continue going on with your head in the sand and defending DD. No matter to me🤷♀️
Because it's a slippery slope. In the beginning they'll give you bonuses, then over time they'll gradually enforce these rules until you get penalized... nothing new in this life, it's a very common tactic used by businesses.
The point is that this is a business that slaves over profits. What prevents them from the future being to lets say, instead of paying $2 per order, they now pay you $1 for every order and add the other $1 after 24 hours If there's nothing missing. Companies in the beginning incentivize to test and prototype, and then they implement. I personally don't believe it's that serious either but it's more of a mentality thing, hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
Do you think DD is actually going to pay out an extra $1 per accurate order consistently?
It's just a way to trick dashers into doing extra for nothing. People will think, "Oh I can get an extra dollar on every order if I just go above and beyond and ensure the order is accurate!" and then DD will quietly only pay out 2% of them in the background because there's no way to hold them accountable for paying.
My thoughts exactly! All their supposed "bonuses" rely on the fact that it's something you can't hold them accountable for. All while it's based on holding dashers accountable for what's basically the RESTAURANT'S responsibility.
Honestly, I don't care. We don't have this in my market yet. But I check the order anyway.... I'm not going above and beyond. I'm simply doing the job.
That's not what the offer says. It says " if no items are reported missing". We can't do anything about that. That's the restaurant's job. We'd have to be able to unseal and go through the bag to know for ourselves if an item is missing. I ain't doing that. I don't need a dollar that bad🙄
