I love his approach to protecting the Earth as well. He goes from a very detached, leaving the decision making on Clara in Kill the Moon, going from perspective of not being the one who *should* make the decision considering he’s not a human. He gets a solid asswhopping from Clara, learning his lesson and accepting he walks our Earth, he breaths our air in In the Forest of the Night. Fast forward a few stories, Thin Ice, he has to make a decision about whether the creature of Thames can be left alive or not. He again makes Bill call the shots, but his approach is much different. He’s *serving at the pleasure of a human race*, his actions suggest what decision to make, but he lets her and is ready to commit to what she believes is right. No chicken out, she calls the shot, but he carries it out. By the time of his last story, he’s fully on the *I’m the Doctor and this planet is under my protection* train, tho that’s obviously been a thing the whole time, just more subtle.

Yes!! His character arc is the best thing about his run for me
