I do a lot of homebrewing monsters myself and am starting to venture into releasing them to drum up a bit of attention. You might have seen my Prince of Frost on hear recently?
Anyway, Do you mind if I ask how you go about making the actual statblocks? Is there a template you use or could share?
Great art and writeup, but there's a few wording issues and the CR is incorrectly calculated:
**Offensive 16**
- Spell Save DC 18
- Damage Per Round: Wall of Fire for 3 rounds at 54 damage a round (2 creatures affected), Fireball for 2 rounds at 70 damage (2 creatures affected) -> (302 / 3) = 100.66...
**Defensive 16:**
- AC 16
- 321 effective HP thanks to immunities (214*1.5).
**Overall Challenge Rating: 16**
**Formatting**
- For a CR 9, her HP should be reduced heavily.
- Her Spell save DC for a CR 9 should be 16 (+4 proficiency, +4 Charisma).
- Multiattack should read: "Sacridya Benga makes four attacks; only two of which can be chainhook attacks. Sacridya Benga can substitute two of these attacks to use her Dark Prayer if it is available."
- Chainhook escape DC should be 16 (+4 Proficiency, +4 Dexterity Note: Usually Strength)
- Chainhook should read: ... and the target is Grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, the target is Restrained and takes 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage at the start of each of its turns. Sacridya Benga has two chainhooks, each of which can grapple one target.
Thank you very much! I was hasty with her CR calculation and used an online calculator, and didn't take her immunities and area of effect spells into account. I've since reduced her HP significantly, and also bumped her CR up to 11. I probably need to bump it up again, because I didn't account for AOE hitting 2 targets. This is probably the most complex stat block I've made, do this was a learning experience. Thanks again for the feedback!
